>the dark side of the force + an autistic sith architect is all it's needed to resurrect someone in flesh and bone

>the dark side of the force + an autistic sith architect is all it's needed to resurrect someone in flesh and bone
>the maximum achievement of jedi is to live eternally as gay ass blue ghosts, not even a christian heaven, you're just a ridiculous ghost or even worse, you become one with the force (meaning you're obliterated)
Why shouldn't everyone just start practicing the dark side of the force?

I was hoping the ST would be about a rebuilding Jedi Order, but we got rebels vs Empire once again for some reason.

Because that's what the fans wanted! Remember, everybody hated the politics in the PT, so Disney took it to heart.
No politics, no worldbuilding, no plot.

The Dark Horse Boba Fett comics in the 90's were space Spaghetti Westerns. Both goofy and gritty in equal measure, Jedi and Imperials almost never showed up. It was just the story of a space mercenary going from place to place, taking jobs from bad guys to take out (arguably) worse guys.
I've heard good things about the Lando novels. They were supposed to be pretty out there, with Lando hanging out with extra-galactic robots and shit.
Crimson Empire, while arguably having a re-hash of Vader in the form of Carnor Jax, was a pretty fun story about the last of the Emperor's royal guards going on a vendetta against a cabal of Imperials that betrayed Palpatine. Jax I actually consider to be a good example of "subversion", as while he dresses and acts like Vader and is pretty clever, his "mastery" of the Force is shown to be basically a very limited trick he can use to surprise people and he mostly gets by on intimidating others by playing on the Sith's reputation.

      Han Solo Trilogy/Han Solo Adventures
Republic Commando (Books and vidya both)
      Agent of the Empire
      X-wing comics/novels
      KOTOR comics (Ironically)

If you can find them, the Shadows of the Empire comics are pretty good. Yes, Vader is present (and has a really decent plot focused on political intrigue) but a lot of it is about seedy side characters. In particular there's a very fun plotline about an Imperial spy infiltrating a swoop biker gang as part of an elaborate plot to prevent Luke's assassination before he can be turned to the dark side. In fact Shadows of the Empire is decent over all. Yes, it's filling in gaps that don't necessarily need filling, which is one of those huge sins of modern Star Wars, but I think it's cool that the focus is more on side characters and "scum and villainy" rather than the umpteenth chosen one/sith lord/dark jedi looking for redemption.

The only good thing to come out of Star Wars was the original Timothy Zahn trilogy Heir to the Empire. KOTOR 2 was also above average if only because it shits on how moronic the Star Wars mythos is. Everything else including KOTOR and the original film trilogy is kinda shit.

I enjoyed Thrawn trilogy but I seriously can't see any special charms for those books to be considered as you say

I mean it's not the greatest story ever told. It comes off the heels of a fairly mediocre fantasy trilogy so you can't expect a masterpiece. The books of as a whole tend to have better pacing and better written characters than the original trilogy. The antagonist is also more realistically threatening instead of just a cartoon villain. I'm also responding with things that aren't Vader which is what he asked for.

Well, we've seen that Force ghosts can interact with the physical world and go anywhere, so why wouldn't you want to be ghost instead of being stuck in a helmet?

Kinda sucks that there's this all powerful force that connects all life, but upon death you lose all consciousness and individuality.

Because the dark side is literally the dark side, its evil, corrupting, and hellish. Take Darth Sion, unkillable unstoppable force of nature that cannot die but is in immense eternal and everlasting pain, which gives him his immortality, but its a negative feedback loop. You sacrifice a lot for the powers you can gain with the dark side, and youre bound to be killed by the next dick head who chopped his dick off to learn force lightning or a jedi who was literally born to kill you and only you because muh balance.

Because that's non-canon. It's Legends Disney stuff written by people who don't understand the setting. The Dark Side can't give you immortality. Period. No Legends "I put my soul in my tomb/amulet/temple" no Disney "Somehow Palpatine returned". The whole point is that the Sith are afraid of death but their very ideology prevents them from attaining it.

      >no Disney "Somehow Palpatine returned"
Remember when one of the arguments in favor of the Disney Wars was "they won''t do stupid stuff like backing Palpatine as a clone body hopper"? Oh how naive some people were back then.. It is impressive how Disney refused to learn anything from the failures of the old EU but rather doubled down on them.

Because according to sith beliefes, the force is like venom, the more diluted it becomes the less potent, hence the rule of two. Inb4 *what about jedi and inquisitors, dont they dilute the force?* Well yes and no. They do in a way and that is why sith want jedi gone, but they don't use the dark side itself therefore they don't dilute that aspect of it allowing sith lords to still overpower them. Bear in mind sith tolerate inquisitors as tool, but you never see them use the actuall dark side of the force. Choking and jumping and shit are just variants of jedi skillsets. You never see them use ligtning or force scream like Palapitine does. You dont really see vader use it as a matter of fact but that has more to do with him being physically incapable to do it due to loat limbs and lost voice. The true dark side powers like sith alchemy and necromancy are reserved just for the 2 lords, and the more people would use this kind of powers the less potent they become.
