    >Zoomer
That was an extremely millennial movie

      It's a movie for teens. Zoomers were 12-16 in 2012. It's a zoomer movie.

16yo millennials were the target audience. Some zoomers werent even born when the movie came out, how can it be a gen Z movie and not a milennial movie?

Gen Z starts in the mid-late 90s. Only the absolute youngest millennials were still in high school in 2012 and they're borderline zoomers. The primary audience was 13-16 year old zoomers, not 30 year old millennials.

No, zoomers. Let me guess, you were born in 1996-1997 and think you're a millennial.

I’m younger actually. And I’m considered one of the oldest in my generation and I was barely 10 when the movie came out. Everywhere you look online will have 1996 born people classified as millennials.
That movie was made for people born in the late 90s, regardless if they were zoomers or millennials. You seem to think of this like its astrology or something.

No, actually, it's a heavily contested year.

nobody thinks people born in 2001 or 2002 are the oldest zoomers. those would be people born in 96-99.

the broad consensus is that zoomers began in 1995-1996 and the generaton ended between 2010-2013

1995 is usually the last year that gets safely called millennial. Even so though that leaves only the youngest millennials as being within the absolute oldest members of the audience for this slop.

                24yo here.
I went clubbing two times and I fricking hated it, I really don't know why people like it so much: food is expensive, the place is dirty as frick, the music is boring, the girls are disrespectful...
I went a second time because my bff asked me and it was just as bad.

Same could be said about zoomers, genius. How could this be a gen Z movie if most were too young/weren’t even born to watch it?

Because it was the cornerstone coming-of-age movie for zoomers born in the late 90s. That's why I called it the defining zoomer movie, because it came out when the generation started coming of age. I don't see how it can possibly be called "millennial" when the only millennials who could conceivably be young enough to be watching this were born when the generation was just about over.

Jesus Christ dude. You realize these generation terms were literally just some made up bullshit by companies right? Both late millennials and early gen Z were the target audience, but there’s really no distinction between them since they were all born in the late 90s. Sure, it wasn’t a millennial defining movie, but it also wasn’t a gen Z defining movie. Generations aren’t zodiac signs, there’s a smooth transition. People born in 95 aren’t completely different nor did they experience vastly different things from people born in 99. And they both can have a lot more in common than someone born in the 80s or someone born in the 2010s, despite each belonging to the other generation. It’s really not that complicated.

I saw it when I was 14. It's firmly a zoomer movie. Does this board not know that zoomers are pushing 30 by now?
