Might be a sign that the company's underperforming so they're trying to save money wherever possible, even if it's a tiny amount here and there. This confirms my suspicion that Disney has 100% given up on this show and how Disney + more or less sells itself regardless of what TV Animation projects they're working on.
Molly will get its 2nd season and then quietly get cancelled because Disney is moving past its Gravity Falls phase back into its Phineas and Ferb phase. Milo and Hamster and Gretel are Disney subconsciously asking its consumer base if its OK to just reknew Phineas and Ferb because thats the actual kind of content it wants on its block right now.

I wouldn't guarantee anything, but I'm not as worried about this book, since it sounds like it will substantially add to the overall world of Amphibia with new character insights and stories and it's probably more worth publishing. I feel like everyone is so desperate to move on from covid that they forget that the shipping industry has been backed up for years and is still struggling to return to normal. Before the hiatus, it was on a daily rerun scheduel. Now it's weekly. Seems like Disney channel is trying to push it's new show Ultra Violet and Black Scorpion hard right now. The only animated series they are showing during week days, besides Disney Jr. stuff, is Miraculous and Big City Greens.
And I guarantee you the episodes they rerun have nothing to do with either Andrea or drama involving the Ghost Council.

It's a know fact that Disney dosn't give two shits on Disney TVA productions since the Wander Over Yonder and MotorCity days, for example there was recent Tangled novel that retcons the events of Tangled The Series with a Moonstone daughter.
Also that the upcoming Big Hero 6 show by Walt Disney Animation Studios seems to ignore the events of the DTVA show.
With the exception of the Disney Afternoon era, the DTVA division always felt like it played second banana to the movies and theme parks. Even the live action shows fare slightly better.
Which is sad because there quality is honestly better than that of the Movies/Live Action Series.

Yeah, I actually think that's an indication of the tone of the thing. What if instead of some big, epic, thriller it's just the "Keeper of the Reaper" special of Billy and Mandy. A kangeroo court episode with a midway recess that ends with Scratch being cursed to stay with Molly.

For industry productions only the editor and the network ever have direct access to the master file. Other crew people will sometimes get sent timecoded dailies of animation coming back from Korea for review/approval in case there’s an error or something unclear with the boards but editor making a copy of the final episode for anyone else (including the creator or producers) is a huge contract violation

I never would have thought that the creators and crew themselves have to try to catch the new episodes online or on TV with everyone else if they wanted to see how the finished product came out. I thought they'd at least get a finished copy of the episode a bit before it was supposed to air to see for themselves.

Nothing means anything for the future. It just means that Disney can't afford to ship out stuff like they could have a few months ago. I hear stock is falling pretty hard right now and with stuff like Star Wars, the parks, Marvel, and original series underperforming as opposed to pre 2021 CONSOOOOM culture it seems like they're pinching pennies. Even if Molly was doing Mandalorian numbers it can only be considered a success and they can't go beyond budget with it atm.
If it means people will finally shut up about the MCU, I’ll take it.
