It was pretty dope no doubt. What is some other disaster kino Cinemaphile. I always loved Deep Impact, Dante's Peak, The Day After Tomorrow, as well as all Asylum mockbusters.

    Dante's Peak bro.

They should make a 2012 movie but it's about the simulation going haywire instead of the physical world ending like what actually happened in 2012.

Do apocalypse with chaos starters count? I enjoyed Greenland's chaotic airport and traffic. It's kind of a disaster movie but not really because there's a lack of CGI.

Greenland is great. It stays personal and doesn't have anyone calling the Whitehouse demand to speak to the President who then grants them carte blanche to take over emergency operations.

this would have been a 10/10 with talented actors, excluding woody ofc

Terrible script and characters and acting, a few good but brief CGI scenes. It's trash.
The Core is 100 times better.

For some reason my mind groups this film with Day After Tomorrow, I can't quite tell apart which is which, I just remember some scene with wolves in day, and some spaceship stuff in 2012.
Also a cool conspiracy theorist character greeting the apocalypse on a hill or something. Which one was that?

The spaceship and the apocalypse radio guy is definitely 2012. Wolves are probably The Day After Tomorrow

I thought it would suck but it was pretty fun until they reach Tibet, then it becomes tedious

Does anyone else actually see the movie as a subtle comedy or parody? Like when the old ladies wreck their car and probably die and the fissure from the earthquake is literally chasing them, then they hop aboard the plane and have to dodge falling buildings. Even still, I really like it in that regard.

It was made entirely following the *rule of cool* philosophy. it's entirely unpretentious and it's what made it work

I liked the one with Tommy Lee Jones and the volcano, whatever it was called. The scene with the dude jumping into the lava messed me up as a kid.
