Hahah and this show is entirely for leftist women, this is what they like and relate to. Everything is so lame and ugly. Was so banking on knowing that this boring culture would inevitably change and we wouldn’t have to live the 2010s forever but it’s looking like they’re moving to make this the decade of (leftist white) women similar to how the ‘10s mostly went to homies, this culture is such a prison and just as highschool-tier, samey and predictable.

When you do a parody of something, if you try to do it "in good taste", trying to avoid at all costs being offensive to the fans of the material, it's going to be a shit parody.
In the first episodes a supervillain gets cancelled for sexism by twitter and loses his supervillain job because he called wonder woman a c**t, Bane talks in a even sillier version of his nolan voice, that's the tone of the show.
If they can make fun of bane and stuff, they can surely make fun of mister freeze.

This would actually be funny without the context of Nora being a total prostitute as soon as she got unfrozen. If she was just portrayed as a normal housewife who didn’t know all the crazy shit that went on around her in the past 20 years and THEN moved on to the swamp monster dude, that’d be a decent joke. What we got was just LOLRANDOM though

      Anonymous

Why is she Mr. Freeze's wife at all? If the joke is just that she's a prostitute then it's not very funny, but why involve a character whose background is explicitly tragic and piss all over it? It's just an incredibly bizarre and heartless choice for no real reason, you could have just as easily invented some character that Harley Quinn has to take care off who is a huge prostitute that gets herself into trouble. It'd be like if you inserted another hour after the end of Titanic that shows that Rose became a cabaret dancer and enjoyed getting drunk and fricked by wealthy industrialists in the wake of Jack's death from hypothermia in the north Atlantic

        Anonymous

that's my point, it's not funny or interesting or anything like that. The only reason that comes to mind is that they wanted to shit on the mr. freeze story.

        Anonymous

That's like saying space balls is disrepectful towards george lucas, or that austing powers is disrespectful towards sean connery

The point is that Mr. Freeze idealized his sick wife, he built a complete fantasy of who she was in his grief, but that is not the real person. Because of Mr. Freeze delusions and making all the choices in the relationship Nora got robbed of her best years. Now that she is cured and specially free of Mr. Freeze she is allowed to unleash her inner party girl and enjoy herself. Her real self is a prostitute and she's happy.

          >Her real self is a prostitute and she's happy.

And I guess my rebuttal would be that mocking a man who was choked with grief and literally killed himself to save his wife by revealing that he was a loony who didn't actually know her that well isn't funny, and the joke is less funny than it could even potentially be, precisely because Heart of Ice was such a well done story that is obviously being referenced to even get us invested in the characters of Mr. Freeze and Nora. Again, if Mr. Freeze's sacrifice itself was played as over the top and irrational, it would set this up better, but you can't swan dive directly from poignancy into jokes about being doing coke and fricking monster men and expect me to no longer care about Mr. Freeze

      >robot chicken
Robot chicken is a parody brand. The Harley Quinn Show is an official licensed product of DC and Warner Bros. This is a legitimate brand shitting on its own properties, not a parody show having a giggle.

    >most of the shows is the writers shitting on male heroes and bad guys
    >the fans defends it as a parody
    >parody is taking a piece of media and modifying some parts to have comedic effects
    >Harley Quinn show comes off as more of a mockery than a parody that makes Harley and Ivy in a better light
Batman the brave and the bold will always be the better parody of DC universe.
