At best you get Samurai Jack rules where everything is a robot or alien monster that bleeds green, or it's some moronic shit where the sword only ever shoots magical blasts

Reminds me of the Zelda cartoon. Link never actually strikes an opponent with his sword, he just uses it to parry and to cut ropes and the like. To actually kill stuff, he uses swordbeams, like his sword was a gun. At least it is sort of excused by the fact that his sword blasts can blow through stone walls, so they hit harder than sword strikes
