    Documentary: five came back
Very interesting three part movie about five filmmakers that went to Europe during WW2 as propaganda filmmakers

Movie: the longest day, movie about Normandy operation
A bit long, great cinematography, but sometimes has naive humor that's quite stupid (Sean Connery has lame lines)
    Good movie

I'm doing a history movies seminar in college and it's pretty good

If you have never seen them before, check out Paths of Glory and Battle Of Algiers.
In comparison, Longest Day was an all-Yankee fluff piece from the time in the same vein than Tora! Tora! Tora!

The evil general really chews the scenery, completely out of place compared to everyone else.

    I.S.S

3 Americans, 3 Russians on the space station while nuclear war is going on. Good build up of tension but the 3rd act was kinda lame. I give it mid/10

Lord Of War, it is a very sweeping film that feels like a miniseries and interestingly enough is based somewhat on a real individual russian/ukrainian/american man

    The Mirror

So boring, mind-numbing and pretentious, I actually "blanked out" for what must've been 25 minutes. It's actually quite scary. I didn't fall asleep. I just....stopped grasping the world for moments at a time. Sort of like day dreaming, but when you're to conscious. I never would've thought this was possible. A movie being SO dry, that you resort to a sort of vegetable state. Also, was there even a single mirror in this movie? I get it's about "reflecting on war and his life", but I unironically don't remember there being a single mirror the entire movie.

    Anyways, 1.5/5 Bravo Andrei Tarkovsky.

watch a few minutes, pause, look at your phone, watch a bit more, pause, post on Cinemaphile for a bit. Few more minutes then pause for the rest of the day. Come back to it on and off over the next week until it's finished, or you lose interest at the 1/3rd mark.

    >The Pig, The Snake and The Pigeon
Went in expecting a movie about a Taiwanese gangster deciding to kill off some other Taiwanese gangsters before retiring and I wasn't disappointed. Like most Asian movies, the fricking tone was all over the place. It almost felt like I watching a condensed series instead of a movie. It was still great though. In particular, the ending of the cult was one of the coolest scenes I've seen in years. Really can't wait until more people watch it and the webms start getting buzz. 4/5 stars would recommend
