The last Voyage of the Demeter

Why is there no 'Dracula' in American title? This may reult with the movie flopping in USA as average viewers don't even know that Demeter was a Russian ship from Dracula novel, named after Greek goddess.

They'll watch the American remake in 2 years with a more diverse cast. They'll probably name it Dracula on a boat or something.

It will flop no matter what. It's historical 19th century setting and these movies have very niche audience.

why isn't this getting released around Halloween? seems the most logical thing to do.

Had a meeting with one of the homosexual producers of this slop. He passed on two of my original scripts and was bragging about how cool their new Dracula project was. Trailer looks horrendous and it has zero buzz, gonna be funny to watch it flop.

I'd guess they expect it would be a "spoiler" for Americans

Because the twist is that it isnt about Dracula at all, its about Cthulu

because Americans are intelligent and well read enough to know that the demeter was the ship Dracula arrived on in Bram Stoker's novel

I genuinely believe Dracula, Frankenstien, and the Count of Monte Cristo (unabridged) should be mandatory reading in high school

'Frankenstein' yes, especially in incoming A.I. era. However 'Dracula' not really. It's too heavy and too brutal for school with no actual value like for example 'Frankenstein' and I think Polidori's 'Vampire' is one that created the image of stereotypical rich gentleman vampire traveller so I would suggest that one.

Frankenstein is already required reading for many reasons.
Unrelated, but American schools need to teach the English Civil War. Not even Cromwell gets mentioned, but the whole era set the stage for the American colonies.

Dracula shows that loose woman who take three men's "blood" get turned into husks, virtuous ones just get to write boring diary chapters.

I did have Dracula in a high school class, but it was an optional one. Frankenstein was actually required at my college in a humanities course everyone needed to take to graduate.

The marketing for this thing is so weird. Even when I saw the trailer, they don't say it's a Dracula movie until right near the end. Did Universal suddenly forget you're not supposed to bury the lead?

They might actually be trying to hide that this is a Dracula movie after Universal's last one flopped. It's a losing fight for sure considering anyone who might go to this has probably seen at least one version of Dracula by now, but it's not like it would be the first time film marketers did something moronic.

Flop incoming. Also kind of pointless. Dracula kills everyone and hides. Unless they secretly want to tie this to that Dracula Unfold with Chris Evans.

Universal went bat-shit insane with Dracula content. There are 4 Universal distributions coming soon.
    1. Demeter
    2. Dracula's Daughter
    3. Nosferatu
    4. Continuation of Cage Dracula from Renfield
    5. New Van Helsing movie
All of these from Universal. Also 2 more scrapped or cancelled or on hold.
    1. Dracula Untold 2
    2. Mina spin off

If you think DC is obsessed with Batman then Universal is doing Dracula multiverse.

Could have worked if most of them were about lesser vampires doing cool shit all over the place and then a big reveal for big D. But they can't help themselves. Vampires are cool enough on their own, it doesn't have to be DRACUL THE IMPALER GOD VAMPIRE KING MONSTER LORD every fricking time....
