Actually it's probably below because Disney pays for audience reviews. HBO Max obviously didn't with Santa Inc.

It's not review-bombing if it's actually bad. The critics are review-inflating.

I've watched all the eps so far. There is no possible way anyone could honestly give this a positive review unless they're a hardcore LGBTQ activist or a literal Disney paid shill.

Rise of Skywalker had the new algorithm + only "certified" accounts could rate the movie.

It wasn't any new algorithm. Whenever RT suspects something is review bombed they only show reviews from confirmed watches on movies, this has been a thing since forever. I don't think they do it with shows because how do you confirm if someone has watched the tv show, there's no show tickets lol.

They changed their score system after TLJ """"review bombing"""" to avoid """"russian trolls"""" and other types, but you are right they can't check tickets with a TV show.

    Santa Inc was unintentionally based
The fact that they thought the whole ending of
    >"The incredibly israeli elf is now secretly running a shadow Goverment in the north pole and using Santa Claus as a front"
As antisemitism just shows how moronic Seth Rogen Is.

That's me up to 42 stinking reviews now. Honestly don't know if I could stop doing this if I even tried. It's just too easy to create a new set of accounts, fire up ChatGBT and then shit out some other rambling list of "fan" criticisms for this ~~*product*~~. You'd think I'd have maybe learned something about Star Wars by now but none of it seems appealing. Still a lot folk agree with me so that's all that matters.

        The power of one!

As a devoted admirer of George Lucas and the magic he created, it's disheartening to see this veer so far from the essence that made Star Wars an unparalleled cultural phenomenon. The original trilogy enchanted audiences with its universal themes of heroism, friendship, and the timeless battle between good and evil. Characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Darth Vader became icons not just because of their roles, but because they represented something larger than life – they were vessels of mythic storytelling that transcended the screen.

Acolyte seems to miss this crucial element by focusing heavily on identity politics. The original Star Wars didn't rely on explicit socio-political statements to make an impact. Instead, it naturally wove themes of courage, hope, and redemption into its narrative, appealing to a broad audience without alienating any segment.

Financially, this approach is perilous. The core Star Wars audience has always been those who seek a thrilling sci-fi adventure, not a platform for contemporary debates on identity and gender. By foregrounding these issues, Disney risks alienating long-time fans who cherish the franchise for its escapism and universal appeal. These fans want the epic battles, the deep lore, and the timeless storytelling that doesn't feel like a lecture.

Characters like Leia were groundbreaking because of their actions and strength within the story, not because the story made their gender a focal point. The original films succeeded WITHOUT overt messages that could detract from the adventure.

By straying from this formula, this not only risks diminishing the timeless allure of Star Wars but also alienates fans who just want a good sci-fi story. It's a misstep which fractures the fanbase and hurts the franchise. Star Wars should remain a galaxy where anyone can find hope and adventure, just as George Lucas intended, without the weight of modern political divides.

According to some leaks from within Disney, the next lying bullshit narrative that Disney orders media to spread is that they're raking in lots of women to watch it, that they've now captured the female demographic for the franchise. Yes you see the audience has been widened. Just a wonderful success story, that's all! And thusly it paves the way for another Rey movie of course.
