The way most of the world sees it might help you put this into perspective:
Anime has been inspired by Occidental works before, and I don't mean some authors, I mean in general. We all know that big eyes come from Disney characters, for example, and magazines with several comics, even if perhaps not like in Japan, were common in the west before the current format got (sadly)popular.
Now, with Manga having created a deep culture that lead to thousands of kids growing up in the hopes of becoming a mangaka, much like how some kid in Brazil or Argentina dreams of playing Football, or soccer for you yankys, or some kid in the USA might dream of being a famous quarterback or pitcher.
It's not insane nor toxic to imagine that this vast array of stories has catch the interests of new generations and affected what will come of stuff made in the rest of the world.
The people that think like this
Will die out at some point; not because of their opinion being objectively "worst" but simply because they are an older audience and will get irrelevant before the interest fades and the effects are truly felt.
I used to buy comic book magazines, some decades ago, the kind with several people's works in much the same way as Manga magazines or old serial magazines that published novels once upon a time (many great works of classic fiction came to be like that, such as the Phantom of the Opera), and I read some of the most interesting and creative things I had ever experienced, same with the art.
Thank you for sharing this. I was not around for what you experienced but I do think your point about anthology magazine type works as you mention is very important. One of the biggest things about the western cartoon and comic industry, I think, is that it's very hostile towards that sort of collective art-sharing now, and similarly it doesn't draw on that sort of pool of creative work to produce mainstream content, which works against its favor. If that were to change, it would perhaps have a large effect on the media we see in the future, but so much money is involved with so many mainstream productions and platforms that I wonder if anyone would have the gumption to give it a try. Likely, the "solution" will be something much less cool and experimental.
You can yell at OP for using twitter if you want but his broad point isn't wrong, anime's general popularity even in its lowest forms among the general population is undeniable and this will absolutely affect future generations of creators.

So sad, so true; but I have find some real creativity in online communities (mostly novels but still) that are growing to this day, so it might happen regardless because of the nature of markets.

Just by logic, if it has already affected and become so mainstream now, it is impossible that it won't have an even bigger effect later, just taken for granted or more organically included in the natural progression of creative writing.
At some point it will stop being an outliner and become a status quo, with a new normal being generated. It's easy, but wrong, to assume we are at the final destination of any given change.
same goes for episodes parodying anime because it exposes the show running geeks for being fricking casuals

Samurai Jack is a good example, because it still has a Western sensibility. While I enjoyed ATLA, it was still an imitation anime.
We need more groundbreaking works like Moral Orel for Western animation to come into its own. It feels like we only get one every decade or so.

Two of the best western animated series, atla and samurai jack, were made by weebs so it can be done good. The only anime thing about su are the 10000 “homages”.

Anime will literally never be as compelling, emotionally or otherwise, as an ACTUALLY good movie.
And this isn't even just western bias, pic related is a japanese film and you'd have to be legitimately delusional to find anime more compelling than it.
Either way, anime is gaining ground where comics are losing ground. So don't complain about that the medium is dead.
Different people have different emotions and are compelled by different different things. YOU are the dellusional one. Dellusion does not mean to have the 'incorrect opinion' about media. It means to see something (like someone saying that a particular anime hits them harder than any other media ever could) and than saying that such a thing cannot happen.
They are different mediums with different strengths. Might as well say that there will never be a movie with characters as complex as War and peace and therefore cinema is not a worthwhile medium(not to mention that the poll is bullshit because it's biased towards people that spend too much time online).

I've seen people on Cinemaphile claim that. Anyways I think animation can provoke emotional responses in different ways than cinema using different visual cues and most importantly color, but yes you are right that in some parts it will always be inferior to cinema. Also once again, don't take that poll seriously.

Zoomers don’t really like anime either, there are tweets that constantly talk about how BNHA is sexist for giving teens breasts and why One Piece promotes anorexia by giving Nami a thin waist. They just watch anime because it’s popular and even then it’s only the Shonen shit that isn’t really huge in Japan.

What it really means is we'll get more homogenized character designs. Not for simplicity but for pornographic purposes. You aren't gonna see the ZANY character designs iconic in Cartoons anymore. Just bland shit like in Hazbin Hotel.
Funny thing is that, at least to my experience, very few Gen Z members know about something like The Owl House or Nu-She-Ra, some of them recognize Steven Universe, but they all watch Family Guy

This sounds like le epin stat but it really isn't different from prior generations given you only have to watch one anime to say you watch one.
You know how many late 90s-early 2000s kids watched Pokemon at least once a week? Had to be 100% watched anime given how big that ones, plus 4kids and whatever else. Now it's far less then that.
