I can't see the upcoming series having any kind of "edge"
Man I just realized how little I remember about the Fuzzy episodes, I remember at least one good episode of the rest of the villains but not for Fuzzy
He's other of the few characters that was better in the anime, but like other anon said that one episode where he runs for mayor was good
The 4th season went to mostly 22 minute episodes many of which have more seriously executed action/sci-fi elements than the previous ones. They’re more tonally of a piece with the movie than the other seasons. It was still funny and had episodes that were primarily comedy focused, but the shift to more elaborate plotting was noticable.
After McCracken left and Savino took over the show pivoted back to cartoony antics, only worse than before.

Honestly, those were some of the best episodes, even if one was the set up for a punchline. Hell, I think that one might be in the top 5.
I mean, there's a reason why Steven Universe and Adventure Time were more popular than Clarence and Uncle Grandpa respectively
Or Gravity Falls vs Wander Over Yonder
he pitched a bunch of new show ideas to Netflix but they didn't want to make any of them. then CN called him up and asked him if he wanted to develop these reboots and he agreed since it's guaranteed work. I'm sure after these shows are out and he has a strong relationship with the studio again they'll let him do some original stuff
That's what I'm thinking; for all the fluff nostalgiagays are making about this, it seems more like busy work until he can get his auteur license back.
Still sucks a veteran animator has to prove himself even after making two hit shows for the network.
Hopefully it just goes to HBO Max. Serialized lore shows are best left to streaming. No one still watching cable is going to want to wait for more plot. That's why episodic funny cartoons like ttg and gumball basically took over CN.
Eh, there’s already 6 seasons/136 seg. of episodic PPG, even though the later ones get progressively worse. There’s also the crappy reboot which is another 3 seasons/119 ep. of episodic stuff. Makes sense to change up the formula a bit in this case.
Well I don't need DEEPEST LORE but a somewhat story driven season would be a lot of fun if it is handled correctly and isn't too serious. PPGZ is about as serious as a PPG show can get without it feeling a bit stupid.
Also they had better bring back Miss Bellum. The reason they cut her out was the most baffling and regressive shit I have ever seen from a cartoon reboot outside of maybe the current Babs and Buster Bunny drama.
I didn't watch Kid Cosmic, and I'm kinda afraid to but I really liked WoY and how it handled serialization in Season 2. Hope Craig delivers on a quality cartoon
he also did HIM, along with Harriman from Foster's and a surprising amount of roles I forgot about. I hope his health is at least improving
How is he going to work on two shows at the same time?
I imagine pre-school Foster's was some sort of contractual obligation to help pump some blood into Cartoonito, I don't think he'll phone it in but I don't think he'll be as involved in the project.
>Taking back his show and basically shitting on the 2016 reboot
Honestly, no matter how this turns out, pretty fricking based.
Personally don't feel that Craig's work is perfect, Foster's, Wander and Kid Cosmic are fricking all over the place and extremely hit or miss, all of them have top tier shit, but also really fricking bad episodes, he's wildly inconsistent. PPG was the only show he made that was more or less 100% good all the way through, except maybe the anniversary special that fricking goes a million miles per hour, but I'm willing to overlook that because they had time constraints iirc.

I fear for the reboot now because while the characters where solid the serialization of Kid Cosmic was kind of bad
>McCracken began drawing at an early age. He attended California High School in Whittier, California and the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where he met his friend and future collaborator, Genndy Tartakovsky. During his first year, he created a series of short cartoons featuring a character named No Neck Joe, which were picked up by Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation.[4][5][6] While at CalArts, he also created a short entitled Whoopass Stew!, which would later become the basis for The Powerpuff Girls.[4][5] McCracken married animator Lauren Faust on March 13, 2004. Faust took maternity leave in mid-2016 to take care of their newborn daughter.[7]
I don't have a source, but twits were talking about how netflix offers bonuses if a show goes into three seasons. I could see Kid's final season being stretched into the shit show that it was just to make sure that they got that 3rd season bonus, while the idea wasn't that sound.
However, season 1 of Kid was really good. I think what Craig is bad at is writing character motivation and development. Even with Wander, a lot of his characters are simple and tropey and don't ever go into emotional stuff the way adventure time could or did. They're all too blunt or stubborn.
When it got into season 2-3 of Kid, the new villain wasn't very good, and just seemed like a poorly written and mashed up version of Mojo and Hater, but not in a good way. He worked until he didn't when all he could do is just "grab character and snatch the stone." Those stupid stones just ruined Kid's orignal charm.
Could this happen to a long form PPG story? Depends on what the end goal is. Could be he makes an all time new bad guy that can be a threat to all of the citizens of townsville... or he really puts HIM to work this time around. Where Mojo would side with the girls, only because HIM never got the actual story arch he could've had in the previous series. What would annoy me is that you make it about some shit like Princess or Fuzzy Lumpkins... or a shitty business man type new guy (Star Vs. already did that to perfection with Toffee).
Craig has been answering a shitton of questions about the reboots on Twitter so if anyone here is curious about anything, feel free to ask him and you'll probably get a response. he also mentioned that the new Foster's show being for preschoolers was his idea and that he's making it for his daughter
Honestly if any show would make sense having a "Muppet Baby's" spinoff it'd be Foster's.
Like the one problem the show had that it was TOO cynical for its concept.
Yep. It only flopped because boys couldn’t look their father in the face to take them to it back then + Men and Black II. As a film, it’s amazing, I liked it even better than Ego Trip.
>It only flopped because boys couldn’t look their father in the face to take them to it back then
Actually it was a combination of 9/11 making the violence more off putting, lack of advertisement outside of CN in favor of Scooby Doo and yes, heavy competition that movie season.
He already did that. The show had run its course. It’s clear he’s wanted to do this since the 2002 movie, this seems to be coming from an earnest place. Honestly the only downside will be, I’ll eat my hat if it isn’t motion tweened, Craig is obsessed with flash (or equivalent).
Craig sees what Genndy’s doing and wants a piece of the action. No it won’t be that adult, but he wants to get back in the saddle and be ambitious again. >He loves the original artstyle >He wants it to be canon to the original >He wants to tell an ongoing narrative >He’s excited
All I need to hear. All I can hope for is a good presentation (music, voices and visuals). Happy for my boy.
>Craig sees what Genndy’s doing and wants a piece of the action. No it won’t be that adult, but he wants to get back in the saddle and be ambitious again.
He's doing a reboot of property that's been milked to death since it ended and expressed moving on from. As seen with the Rugrats reboot, we still don't know if it will be hacked to death by executives. Not helping is that everybody else involved with the show isn't coming back.
I don't know why people are insisting this anything similar to Genndy, who is genuinely being more ambitious with new IPs to play around with.
>As seen with the Rugrats reboot
The original creators of the Rugrats were hacks who sabotage the quality of their own show to keep in line with their vision hence why the show became garbage after two seasons. The reboot being a soulless cashgrab doesn't stray too far from the quality of the original.
>who is genuinely being more ambitious with new IPs to play around with.
He literally was behind those shitty Hotel Transylvania films and the shitty Samurai Jack revival.
The only on model grown up PPG that looks decent is teacupballerina's take. For some reason the vast majority of fanart of them grown up either does not have them in the origonal style or just looks bad.
They got fricked by nickelodeon, roamed in exile then a whole new generation of executives came in and handed them the keys to the kingdom. Holding on to old grudges gets you nowhere.
That's because Nick became desperate and started going through their old catalog. What happened to them doesn't happen all the time especially given how poorly Nick has treated the franchise its a wonder how it has any good will left.
Lauren Faust said in an interview once that she and Craig have been approached multiple times to start their own independent studio but they keep turning it down because they don't want to get bogged down by the business side of things. I guess they just prefer how working for major corps allows them to solely focus on being creative
Craig seems passive enough to not care. Like, he's gonna be like "i'm glad these people got work and can pay rent" then care about his creations being milked for merchandise rights.
Craig seems passive enough to not care. Like, he's gonna be like "i'm glad these people got work and can pay rent" then care about his creations being milked for merchandise rights.
Craig receives royalties for everything CN does with PPG.
>there has been more hype and excitement for PPG revival #5 than for Unicorn: Warriors Eternal
And yet people will act shocked and dismayed when Hollywood keeps on doing more reboots and remakes.
>Genndy >one of the most successful animators to ever come out of Cartoon Network >one of the illustrious few TV animators who kicked it into becoming mainstay directors in theatrical animation >mid track record
Craig unironically has a worse track record than Genndy.
to be fair there isn't much about Unicorn to talk about (all that's been released is a couple pieces of art and some vague descriptions). meanwhile threads about New PPG like this one can be used to complain about reboots as a concept and pearl-clutch over how the modern animation industry will ruin a beloved childhood thing (both of which Cinemaphile loves to do)
Do you think maybe, just maybe, Craig is trying to get on with the times? And maybe, again simply and humbly a 'maybe', serialized shows are getting popular because of streaming? Now I know what youre thinking, "but anon! TTGO isn't serialized and it fricking slaaaaaps!" well dear anon that show is for toddlers, and everyone knows the reboot will be pushed for nostalgic adults like you and me.
Why do you assume a wise bussiness decision is artless? Or do you just think Craig not making a monster-of-the-week out of his chance at a show is artless?
Why do you assume a wise bussiness decision is artless? Or do you just think Craig not making a monster-of-the-week out of his chance at a show is artless?
You read the opposite out of that than what I meant. We’re saying the same thing.
This! It's a good business decision and it's artful! Why are you morons like this? Can't you see this is good for us?
It was, decades ago, the issue is that streaming is different and it's harder to sell a show that's not going to repeat episodes on a random order everyday on cable, you have to choose to watch X episodes about a unmoving world and there is simply no harm to attach a background overarching theme to it, Hell even Big City Greens had some sort of continuity, in the future where streaming is the norm I just don't see shows without any level of continuity being made (other than the Simpsons because that shit will never die).
You're talking about something different; I was referring to this weird comedy ghetto Cinemaphile has in place.
PPG being a comedy with some continuity is fine, the idea that it needs to be a "deep" serialized story driven show to "get with the times" is what I disagree with.
Craig’s artstyle from the 90’s is my favorite stylized cartoon aesthetic of all time… but since Foster’s it doesn’t look like that anymore. I’m really REALLY hoping to see it return…
Well, I also like the work he did for Two Stupid Dogs and Dexter, but not Foster’s, Wander or Kid Cosmic. The closest was 3 Dog Band, but it still wasn’t quite right.
Ah, my bad. I always attributed Dexter as Genndy's baby but that show had a lot of people who would later take inspiration from that art style so it fits.
honestly a genius move if they manage to pull it off
>established IP to entice nostalgic adults to check it out and share it with their kids >serialized show so obsessed tweens on the internet will spend all their time crafting theories and waiting with baited breath for new episodes every week >huge merchandising push to wring money out of both audiences >??? >profit
>established IP to entice nostalgic adults to check it out and share it with their kids
Couldn't they do that with the original show? It's available on plenty of streaming services.
>Cinemaphile, did we just lose?
No because that doesn't mean anything bad.
I only hope the new show will have villains that had little screen time to have it more and be more of a threat than they used to and make the likes of Abracadaver show up more. The latter's case was that he showed up once and never again after his debut episode apart of some mentions in the original show and somewhere on CN's website.
I feel like if they returned to this character it would be too tempting for the team to use him as a way to attack the previous reboot, or the failed attempt at a live action adaptation. That wouldn't be bad, outright, there's just more to Dick than winking to the audience while joking about how dogshit the franchise has been.
Drunk a bottle of Chemical X and mutates. Then near the end he gets killed off by his own creations for not giving them any love. Both him and his mass-produced PPGs die in the fires of his lab/factory.
>No see it's different because the creator is coming back! >none of the other original writers are coming back
Because that worked so well with Ren and Stimpy.
>implying Craig isn't a hack

They’re more tonally of a piece with the movie than the other seasons. It was still funny and had episodes that were primarily comedy focused, but the shift to more elaborate plotting was noticable.
After McCracken left and Savino took over the show pivoted back to cartoony antics, only worse than before.

Honestly, those were some of the best episodes, even if one was the set up for a punchline. Hell, I think that one might be in the top 5.
Sounds fun
Season 4 only experimented with being a season of full 22-minute episodes.
>people will watch a cartoon about midget girls fighting a green monkey for the "lore"
Worked for Sonic.
Sir, that's a game
I mean, there's a reason why Steven Universe and Adventure Time were more popular than Clarence and Uncle Grandpa respectively
Or Gravity Falls vs Wander Over Yonder
Or The Owl House vs Kid Cosmic
So the original creator is back and doing something new with the IP, but you're salty because it's not the exact same thing as when you were 9?
Because different was so good for Young Justice.
Why can't he be doing something new with a brand new IP?
he pitched a bunch of new show ideas to Netflix but they didn't want to make any of them. then CN called him up and asked him if he wanted to develop these reboots and he agreed since it's guaranteed work.
WRONG, the 2016 reboot had "lore" after they introduced the black PowerPuff girl
Both Kid Cosmic and Wander Over Yonder are shit no matter how much you deny it
>lore
wasn't this just a baby saturday morning cartoon with a monster of the week gimmick?
Kid Cosmic handled it fine.
Kid Cosmic went downhill the moment it went full lore.
The best episodes were the main cast having random adventures.
Nobody likes that show
Fuzzy did nothing wrong
it's funny that ppg 2016 is actually a sequel
it's funny that ppg hasn't had a single good entry since the original
As long it's not 'DARK AND GRITTY' it'll be fine
>Wander season 2 but with PPG
I think we won
Kid Cosmic kinda sucked. Like good art, fun characters, but Craig can't into lore.
Is this the cartoon or the live action series?
The cartoon reboot
Nah, ppg of all things could totally work in that format
Well I don't need DEEPEST LORE but a somewhat story driven season would be a lot of fun if it is handled correctly and isn't too serious. PPGZ is about as serious as a PPG show can get without it feeling a bit stupid.
Also they had better bring back Miss Bellum. The reason they cut her out was the most baffling and regressive shit I have ever seen from a cartoon reboot outside of maybe the current Babs and Buster Bunny drama.
>the current Babs and Buster Bunny drama.
That shit perfectly encapsulates the current state of the industry.
No.
i can’t believe that people would even think he watched that
>just remembered tom kane had a career-ending stroke in 2020 so he almost certainly won't be returning to voice professor utonium
frick
I didn't watch Kid Cosmic, and I'm kinda afraid to but I really liked WoY and how it handled serialization in Season 2. Hope Craig delivers on a quality cartoon
he also did HIM, along with Harriman from Foster's and a surprising amount of roles I forgot about. I hope his health is at least improving
>Cinemaphile, did we just lose?
Nope
Kinda wanna see her grow out of villainy. Not a redemption arc, I just want to see the hilarious results of her getting better impulse control
I want princess to become an actual threat instead
Can you really trust Craig with lore after seeing how Kid Cosmic went?
No but Nostalgiatards don't care anyway.
Frick you, our childhood is getting a revamp.
Calart garbage is a downgrade
Implying an old guard like McCracken will ever touch Calartshit
>this
>Calarts
Take a look at how Star Vs. or Owl House looks, then come here.
Maybe he meant how Craig is OG CalArts?
CURRENT CalArts style. You know exactly what the first post meant ffs. Everything from CNs golden era made in house would be CalArts if going by the "literal" meaning.
>Everything from CNs golden era made in house would be CalArts if going by the "literal" meaning.
Unironically it is.
Yes that's what I meant, the only one that wouldn't apply to would be Ed, Edd n' Eddy because that was outsourced to AKA cartoons.
>creator of PPG went to CalArts, but his work is not "CalArts"
>creator of Owl House did not go to CalArts, but her work is "CalArts"
????? what the frick does CalArts mean then lmfao
If you weren’t pretending to be moronic to distract from the issue you’d know its shorthand for Corporate Minimalism.
>this autist again
Then just call it that from the getgo
I don’t make every post on Cinemaphile.
Your tell is so obvious dude
He means beanmouth and it would be a lot simpler if that became the common term vs something that has several definitions.
"CalArts style" as the beanmouth style is commonly called. In the same way a Chicago style pizza can be made and sold outside Chicago.
Owl House looks literally nothing like the CalArts style, that's Amphibia
Amphibia doesn't really have the beanmouth or beanhead. It's more like Pepper Ann with round faces.
The girls just look like Wendy who didn't have a bean head but was still from a show full of it
Somewhat. Credit where credit is due, Amphibia had better presentation.
Worse meme Cinemaphile invented. "Bean Mouth" is the only correct way to describe that look. "Calarts" is basically being "racist" tier by making up stereotypes that don't apply.
>Ugly ass tumblr girl
>LE HECKIN CHONKER XD
>Bean mouth
>Bean head
>Soulless eyes
>Uniform line weight
>Shapes over forms
The only halfway decent design is the old man, and Craig’s old work shits all over it. Corporate minimalism is a cancer.
This! Why do you gays defend corporate minimalism?
Don’t reply to me ever again, bot.
I’m not hiding when I post, that doesn’t mean i’m the boogieman you’re creating.
>Don’t reply to me ever again, bot.
Who the frick are you calling a boy you shit eating homosexual?
That’s the third
“This? How come come you guys don’t X” i’ve gotten today.
>He doesn’t know what boogieman means on Cinemaphile
Lurk and cope. I’m in your walls.
>he's getting more schizo
Meds. Now.
You’re terrified that there’s a name for it now.
Name for what now?
The design philosophy of modern cartooning. Corporate minimalism. I forget I deal with people who pretend to be moronic. Bad faith.
No one gives a shit let alone is terrified. Take your meds.
Industrycuck has had a name for years, it isn't recent.
That's Industrycuck and you're stuck with him for good. Can't imagine a better couple.
>calling someone an autist is creating a boogeyman
Take your meds.
>Owl House is Calarts
Never go full moron
The girl literally looks like google’s artstyle.
>CalArts
Kid Cosmic was influenced by vintage boomer comics.
Whenever someone on Cinemaphile cries "CalArts" it is usually bait or a genuinely shit opinion, don't fall for it.
>this is how you spot an industry shill
I wish that homosexual would drop dead. Why are mods not doing anything about this homosexual?
Faust took maternity leave in mid-2016 to take care of their newborn daughter.[7]
who's gonna tell him...
honestly I blame netflix.
>I don't have a source
Then shut the frick up.
This means I'm too busy to screen shot everything I see b***h. Some people have a life outside of co.
>i totally have a source
>no you can't see it
>season 1 of Kid was really good.
It shat the bed in the last quarter.
I’m guessing the reboot is going to be 10 episode format.
it'll be like Kid Cosmic, and it'll be fine.
Craig has been answering a shitton of questions about the reboots on Twitter so if anyone here is curious about anything, feel free to ask him and you'll probably get a response. he also mentioned that the new Foster's show being for preschoolers was his idea and that he's making it for his daughter
I'm not a fosters fan, so i guess it doesn't bother me, but this worked out for Craig that CN was going preschool...
That's pretty sweet. I wonder if she's old enough to understand her parents are making the cartoon.
Honestly if any show would make sense having a "Muppet Baby's" spinoff it'd be Foster's.
Like the one problem the show had that it was TOO cynical for its concept.
I worry about Craig's mental health when he listens to that many people, many overstepping their boundaries, and answers them in a polite manner.
makes sense, I was hoping they would go back more to the action roots of the show after the 2016 reboot
Based! I don’t care what anyone says, the movie was kino.
This! Why aren't more people seeing how based this is?
You are referring to the 2002 movie right?
Yep. It only flopped because boys couldn’t look their father in the face to take them to it back then + Men and Black II. As a film, it’s amazing, I liked it even better than Ego Trip.
>It only flopped because boys couldn’t look their father in the face to take them to it back then
Actually it was a combination of 9/11 making the violence more off putting, lack of advertisement outside of CN in favor of Scooby Doo and yes, heavy competition that movie season.
no thanks to jurisdick fencing, 9/11 happens and everything goes downhill
I'm ready for the crossover episode
I really hope he references this if not a straight up crossover
I dont want stories anymore man. Just stupid episodic adventures.
Yeah I feel this whole serialized thing kind of misses the point of the original show.
He already did that. The show had run its course. It’s clear he’s wanted to do this since the 2002 movie, this seems to be coming from an earnest place. Honestly the only downside will be, I’ll eat my hat if it isn’t motion tweened, Craig is obsessed with flash (or equivalent).
And what do you need to do those "stupid episodic adventures"? Freaking stories!
Craig sees what Genndy’s doing and wants a piece of the action. No it won’t be that adult, but he wants to get back in the saddle and be ambitious again.
>He loves the original artstyle
>He wants it to be canon to the original
>He wants to tell an ongoing narrative
>He’s excited
He literally was behind those shitty Hotel Transylvania films and the shitty Samurai Jack revival.
>shitty Samurai Jack revival
This board liked it, at least the first episode...
the hotel transylvania films are pretty much the entire reason he can afford to push for crazier projects now
man's played his cards well
It’s time.
Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Pirates
The only on model grown up PPG that looks decent is teacupballerina's take. For some reason the vast majority of fanart of them grown up either does not have them in the origonal style or just looks bad.
>PPG: Super
No thanks.
Suck a dick doomer gay.
Wow, I cant wait to lose what respect I still have for McCracken
It's almost impressive how one man is willing to go back to the same studio that raped his creation twice.
The industry is a cold place. You don’t get anywhere by boohooing. Look at Avatar Studios.
>Look at Avatar Studios.
What happened?
They got fricked by nickelodeon, roamed in exile then a whole new generation of executives came in and handed them the keys to the kingdom. Holding on to old grudges gets you nowhere.
That's because Nick became desperate and started going through their old catalog. What happened to them doesn't happen all the time especially given how poorly Nick has treated the franchise its a wonder how it has any good will left.
I've always wondered why more experienced animators don't leave the industry to go independent. They have the clout for it.
Craig receives royalties for everything CN does with PPG.
>there has been more hype and excitement for PPG revival #5 than for Unicorn: Warriors Eternal
And yet people will act shocked and dismayed when Hollywood keeps on doing more reboots and remakes.
>people are more excited for Established Good Thing than Unproven Thing From Person With Mid Track Record
Can't imagine
>Established Good Thing
But PPG hasn't been good since the movie. Why would we want more of a product that's been mid tier for years?
Craig has had a worst track record than Genndy, what the frick are you talking about?
>With Mid Track Record
Get fricked. Craig is more mid than him.
Foster's, one of the two shows getting a spin-off, was mid as shit.
>Established Good Thing
All of PPG's shitty content outweights the good.
>Genndy
>one of the most successful animators to ever come out of Cartoon Network
>one of the illustrious few TV animators who kicked it into becoming mainstay directors in theatrical animation
>mid track record
Craig unironically has a worse track record than Genndy.
to be fair there isn't much about Unicorn to talk about (all that's been released is a couple pieces of art and some vague descriptions). meanwhile threads about New PPG like this one can be used to complain about reboots as a concept and pearl-clutch over how the modern animation industry will ruin a beloved childhood thing (both of which Cinemaphile loves to do)
They are rarely wrong.
Seriously, I'm not sure how you can look at reboots from the past decade and go "Why are people complaining about this?"
Does a wise business decision have to come from an artless place?
Why do you assume a wise bussiness decision is artless? Or do you just think Craig not making a monster-of-the-week out of his chance at a show is artless?
You read the opposite out of that than what I meant. We’re saying the same thing.
This! It's a good business decision and it's artful! Why are you morons like this? Can't you see this is good for us?
>comedy is for toddlers while serialized storytelling is for grown ups
I hate TTG but this attitude seriously pisses me off. PPG was fine as a comedy.
PPG being a comedy with some continuity is fine, the idea that it needs to be a "deep" serialized story driven show to "get with the times" is what I disagree with.
>and everyone knows the reboot will be pushed for nostalgic adults like you and me.
So lore shows really are for manchildren?
Frick off e-celeb lover
We got six seasons of it, bro and most PPG fans recognize it was starting to fall off. I’m happy that its going this way.
If it was starting to fall off, wouldn't it be better to just let it rest peacefully?
How is he going to work on two shows at the same time?
Craig’s artstyle from the 90’s is my favorite stylized cartoon aesthetic of all time… but since Foster’s it doesn’t look like that anymore. I’m really REALLY hoping to see it return…
>inb4 it's CGI
>>inb4 it's CGI
Only if it looked like this would I accept that.
>The 90’s
Does it count when it came out in like 1999?
Well, I also like the work he did for Two Stupid Dogs and Dexter, but not Foster’s, Wander or Kid Cosmic. The closest was 3 Dog Band, but it still wasn’t quite right.
Ah, my bad. I always attributed Dexter as Genndy's baby but that show had a lot of people who would later take inspiration from that art style so it fits.
>3 Dog Band
That was Paul Rudish.
Makes sense why it wasn’t exactly right, thanks for clearing that up.
1998 and yes, it counts
honestly a genius move if they manage to pull it off
>established IP to entice nostalgic adults to check it out and share it with their kids
>serialized show so obsessed tweens on the internet will spend all their time crafting theories and waiting with baited breath for new episodes every week
>huge merchandising push to wring money out of both audiences
>???
>profit
>established IP to entice nostalgic adults to check it out and share it with their kids
Couldn't they do that with the original show? It's available on plenty of streaming services.
You should be more concerned with the fact that the main cast is all white (which is a big no-no for the current year)
Hey, pull my finger
Hey, remember those three agents from kid cosmic, the ppg... remember their color skin?
>Buttercup gets blacked AGAIN
The real question is will it still be funny?
comedy was secondary. one reason the 2016 reboot sucked so much is it turned PPG into a generic comedy cartoon
I would not say comedy was secondary. One of PPGs most celebrated and remembered episodes were comedic.
I want to show more of the relationship in the beat it alls, mostly fuzzy mojo and princess being friends.
This time for sure Princess will be a powerpuff girl!
Its going to be South Park all over again, with 80% of the season being composed of weak episodes just to build an overrall "plot".
>It's going to be an anime
Is this, Cinemaphile, kino?
Eh. At this point most PPG content ever made is shit. This doesn't affect me.
Will he come back?
I want him back but like baxter stockman where every time he fails he lose a body part
Until hes a brain in a jar
I feel like if they returned to this character it would be too tempting for the team to use him as a way to attack the previous reboot, or the failed attempt at a live action adaptation. That wouldn't be bad, outright, there's just more to Dick than winking to the audience while joking about how dogshit the franchise has been.
Whats happening to him?
Drunk a bottle of Chemical X and mutates. Then near the end he gets killed off by his own creations for not giving them any love. Both him and his mass-produced PPGs die in the fires of his lab/factory.
Riddle me this, my my good Cinemaphile gent.
Why would a grown single man make make little girls in his basement?
Science.
I mean, why does any man make children with his sperm since all men are rapists now?
your goldfish is showing.
Hoping for something in the spirit of Samurai Jack, felt like it never left.
Will the Savino seasons still be canon?
>people actually getting excited for rebootshit
this place IS truly Reddit
Craig is involved. This gives people hope.
>No see it's different because the creator is coming back!
>none of the other original writers are coming back
Because that worked so well with Ren and Stimpy.
IDK what to tell you if ur comparing a hack to someone like craig. i think he's got this
>missing the point this hard
Cinemaphile sucks at reading comprehension
>implying Craig isn't a hack
His entire catalogue has been mid as frick after the PPG movie lol.
I don't get why people are sucking his dick this hard.
As long as no girl is racebended or turned dyke... I'm happy.
I want my Rowdyruff babies in womb Flashforward ending!
Cute for Summer.
>serialized loreshit
>shit
Craig McCracken can't make anything bad
He made Kid Cosmic
When the frick did /cuck/ care about anonymous writers when praising a fricking medium? Name one time you unironically thanked some neet in a cave for writing out "And so, the day was saved" 600 times every episode. Go on, I fricking DARE you.
