This rings true. Valhalla Rising is a movie that can only be lauded in some low T film buff hipster space where there is zero knowledge of and interest in history.

It's like the only Viking movie actually created written and directed and casted by Scandinavians so yeah it's good if you're a Scandinavian or someone that's ever actually been there or studied historical Norse peoples.
But it's jarring and outlandish to people whose conception of Norse people and Scandinavians comes from American stereotypes and media.
But its at least 2.5 if you watch the making of featurette.
