Family Guy and South Park are boomer as frick. The only reason they get endless renewal is these old fricks still watching on TV's.

They should just take some time off and work really hard on a third and final RPG. Just finish off the trilogy. Because this last game was legit unacceptable.

Can someone explain what happened here? It's so jarring ebxasue Trey and Matt went on stage at comic con when promoting Stick of Truth and gave a big heart felt speech about how shitty most South park games are and how they never want to release a shitty game again. Then this obvious rush job gets dumped out and the only sole person who did a single piece of promotion for it was Matt. Trey knew something was up

Post-Covid special were very, very good, but generally I don't think Matt and Trey actually work on the series themselves anymore.

I'm genuinely thinking in watching South Park in release order for the first time (up until now i only watched random episodes on television), in which season should i stop watching? Do the anons here have a general agreement on which season ruined the show?

As someone that watched south park his whole life, the show is at like 70% hit to miss ratio when chef leaves the show and it's around 50/50 at grounded vindaloop. I don't think they top grounded vindaloop ever so I think it's a perfectly fine stopping point.

Bigger, Longer, and Uncut is the end of tje classic episodes. Imaginationland is the end of the other good era. After that it becomes hit or miss. That's my take at least.

It's just cringe. The whole "attacking both sides le epic centrist!!!" shtick gets old really fast. I stopped watcing after PC principle beat up Cartman, past that point it was a very boring political commentary with cringey humor.

It was less attacking both sides and more simply avoiding low hanging fruit like how everyone went after Bush for the longest time, while he did make a few appearances they were more clever than "oh he did le bushism haha" shit.
That all went out the door with le Trump though.

As someone that watched south park his whole life, the show is at like 70% hit to miss ratio when chef leaves the show and it's around 50/50 at grounded vindaloop. I don't think they top grounded vindaloop ever so I think it's a perfectly fine stopping point.

Sucks that they based Chef's sendoff on pure misinformation, which one would have thought they'd be smarter than to take Scientology-filtered statements at face value.

It's not about politics. The original series was about the town and how crazy they were with some political topics thrown in because it's America. Americans are political as shit. Anyways it had a good run.

Interesting you say that. I was going through, even excited having it all in one place. But there it sits a little bit into episode 01, season 16. I naturally ran out of gas.

I'll tempted to look up the ones you hear in the news, like the Harry and Kate one. Maybe it is good but typing this now it hit me maybe it is becoming one of those things that is mainstream relevant but it's not actually that great overall. We hear they did a good job with heath insurance vs your friend telling you how funny it is the next day.

Tegridy Farms is considered the general jumping off point. To me it was best when it started out and was just taking the piss out of everything and didn't have any self righteous shit. Basically up to when the animation clearly improves.

Once a year I binge through SP episodes up until the later 2010s onwards stuff just to mentally throw myself back how many years when I was a kid watching it nonstop.
Outside of that ritual, I only watch clips here and there without that specific mindset.

I stopped enjoying it around 2005. I still like the first few seasons especially with the older animation style. I particularly like them around the holidays for nostalgic homosexualry reasons.

The core joke of Cartman only wanting to be skinny so that people couldn't make fun of him was good, but it was literally the ONLY joke in the entire show. Everything else was gay and unfunny.
