The Dai Li are still the coolest depiction of earthbending. Aside from Toph, they're the only ones shown to actually use their master over the earth to slide on the ground and cling on vertical surfaces with their gloves. enhancing their already evasive fighting style.
And as far as waterbenders go, Hama and others are impressive too. Ice,clouds, plants, and even the water found inside human beings there is so much they can do.
And I didn't like Korra and how it turned bending into superpowers but I'll admit a part of me still liked seeing how cool water/earthbending could be.
And fire can... do fire... maybe lightning
I always found fire-bending to be much lamer and more limited than the other styles
It is undeniably extremely useful to drive an economy or do harm.
But it really has an issue in terms of versatility to its visual expression.

So should be Water v Fire yet the FN dominance was so massive during the 100 year war neither of the water tribes were a threat to them, Ozai really bottled it up in like, five years of Reign baka
Its really earthbending that would be the most useful in non-combat. Infrastructure building and mining is a breeze with earthbending.
Water is overpowered because you get heals. Self heals at that. And you can control other people's limbs.
Water is actually busted as frick.

They re overlooked because they need tHe substance more than others, earth bending is useless on a boat.

This. While I do prefer water and earth, by no means are fire and air useless. Combustionbending is pretty dangerous and we can't forget about people like Zaheer and what they can do with airbending

It needs a "power station" near at all times, Fire and Air can just be bended anytime you want, the fricked up FN Royal Family also got lightning as a plus.

Is it that big a plus though? They never seemed to use it other than as an upgraded version of firebending, whereas the other benders have more utility.
It depends when it's convinient to the plot, the whole series theme was Aang learning the elements of other cultures not only to defeat the villain with 5 minutes of actual screen time but learning about the 'beauty' of other cultures and how they're getting destroyed thanks to the damages of the war but when the final fight finally arrived it torned out to 'just learn lightning re-direction kek'
Another thing I noticed about the lightning bending parts is that the rules arent that subtle/they have their flaws.
On one hand, Zuko almost learned it easily on one evening on that episode with Iroh, but couldnt completely at the moment because he was angry he couldnt frick Jin's booba anymore, meanwhile Azula is able to produce as much as she wants while having a mental breakdown.
I always thought it was bullshit how waterbenders could control water in all its common states but all the others were limited to just one.

It might have somerhing to do with living in polar regions, where water exists as ice and liquid.
We've seen how common earthbenders are shit in the desert but sandbenders can control it just fine. Can't rememer much but I think those swamp waterbenders can't do ice too.

Speaaking about Zuko it was awfully easy how he baited his dad onto throwing lightning at him just to re-direct back ar him, Ozai has a literal pea-brain, it's a miracle that such an useless leader didnt get disposed off earlier, I guess the FN was really THAT focused on the war to care about their fricked up royalty.
