why are his eyes so high up and also they're off center
Simple. Those aren't his eyes, they are just for appearance.
They're not off centre. That line going down is not part of his face, it's just a reflection.
they're off center in a lot of episodes
the actor can't see if the LED lights are covering his actual eyes.
Works for iron man.
Ironman's suit is CGI
Prove it.
Why not?
SNW is better.
The Orville's nurse is a redhead. Checkmate.
>"Here's my ass, tee hee!"
me too. his robot autism made him the only funny thing left on the show
>third season still not on Disney+ in my country
REEEEEEEEEEEEE
I've been reading too much manga, for a moment there I thought we were going to get a gender bender episode with all the guys being given female bodies
Were the Kaylons justified in brutally murdering their masters, even the little baby masters in their little master cradles?
>can rebuild their entire heads into dual laser blasters
>can't just take out the pain zapper
come on K-bros something's not right here
Yes, ESPECIALLY THE CHILDREN. Did you see just how fricking brutal they were? It's true to life, kids are demented little shits that would take any opportunity to torture others and fricking run with it.
>, even the little baby masters in their little master cradles?
I would have beat those little shits.
They kinda were. There were probably better solutions, but they weren't necessarily smart enough to figure them out at that point in their development.
Yes there comes a point where the slavers must die. America got off easy.
Cool it with the anti semitic remarks
smart doesn't mean wise.
That's why this episode was moronic. They showed one family, and we don't even know how many of that alien race owned kaylons, yet all of them got wiped out, even the babies. And how the hell did they put lasers in all the kaylons heads, but as you said, couldn't just turn off or remove the pain receptors?
The fact that the factory was willing to send out bug fixes to enforce subservience should kinda be a big takeaway. No matter what the Kaylon did, they would meet immediate opposition. They were smart enough to realize that a protracted conflict might not go in their favor.
Also, they probably didn't bother with killing the babies.
They're smart enough to realize that fleeing or any other form of rebellion would mean more suffering, and they're also logical machines, so they take the path of least resistance (just murdering the threat).
It's kinda based, ngl
GOOD MORNING CHILD OF FUTURE WIFE
Were Timmis and K-1 the same person?
I think so yeah. There was nothing particularly special about his story, he was just one of at least 50,000 robutts who went rogue, and he said he was one of the originally built Kaylons, so there's no reason why it would be a different one.
They were different.
Different voices. Plus Timmis suit actor was bigger. I think K-1 was the voice of Baymax
>Different voices.
Just the effect of the feelsifier
It was different guy
Timmis is some Korean actor who gets roles with oddly white names since he's adopted or some shit.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12037520/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_1
I laughed everytime Bortus made a comment on how fricked up the women were
this is the first time Orville has made me laugh
I got a good chuckle out of the lads acting as porters.
How much do you get paid to be an actor who has maybe 3 lines per season, spread out over as many episodes
>SAG-AFTRA extras who are general background actors earn a base pay of $174 per 8-hour day. Non-union extras earn an average of $75 to $125 for an 8-hour work day.
>If you are selected as a featured extra, the rates can go up substantially. As you can see from the Actors Feature Film Agreement a bit player with not more than 2 lines gets 40% more pay than a normal extra.
About $243 a day.
>$243 a day
i make more a night as a waiter at iHop lmao
They film different episodes in the same day for background. When I did Prison Break I filmed background for seven different episodes in a day over 8 hours. 4 scenes made it to air.
Best girl in the series now that Alara is gone
They missed an opportunity for a moral. Fiddling with his brain should have had consequences. She assumed that if he had emotions that he would automatically love her. That should have blown up in her face, at minimum.
I thought the episode would be about a kaylon who infilitrated the biologicals by having an emotion chip installed to be more effective, and to find out how to more effectively use emotions against the biologicals
but I guess I'm asking too much, I'm just glad we're not getting moron episodes like std
Most of Orville this season has been amazing, but this last episode was a miss. It was just bad shipper bait.
I miss the comedy. Rewatching the earlier seasons and I loved the digs Ed used to make at his ex wife.
> I'll do it...
Based Gordon.
>Based Gordon.
He would even sleep with a Klingon. I've been there myself.
I like the writing in this show but some of the actors don't have the skill to do it justice.
>It's a Kaylon episode
>It's a Moclan episode
>It's a Krill episode
>It's a Claire episode
Enough already. Discover new planets and cultures
They literally invited a new culture over for negotiations.
Like the admiral said in the episode
>It's the Moclans all over again
they were muslims with the sexes reversed fricking stupid homosexual
>they were muslims with the sexes reversed fricking stupid homosexual
That doesn't work because feminists love Muslims.
>abloo bloo
kys
?
Feminists constantly make excuses for Islamic culture's shittiness towards women. A lot of them simply do not give a frick.
I think some of you live in very very strange bubbles.
She should have just let him do all the work, instead of jumping around like a maniac.
kek what the frick did she do to him?
Snu snu
facesitting is dangerous business
eatin pusy is hazardous
Some girls just have a vibrant sexual energy, they can't help themselves.
Surely the future must have some quality bondage gear available.
She's clearly not a sub, it's not going to work out with Lamarr. She needs a guy who can take it.
How hard is it to chain that b***h up and go to work?
>chain her up
>start going to town
>she starts climaxing
>pussy tenses up
>dick sheared off
Maybe it's for the best they never got to finish.
>American science fiction
You're on a board devoted almost entirely to American culture on an American website and you're trying to act smug about America as-if you're not obsessed while your shithole fascist government has you on lockdown consooming American food and American entertainment and you can't even say frick all about it lest they throw you in a dungeon. Eat shit.
I think John is a masochist. First the sink fruit lady now this. He wants the final snub snu
If it had been a man pressuring a woman to get brain surgery to make her love him, the internet would melt.
She's a lonely mother of 2 in her 60s. She would do anything to get a man to love her.
Oh dang, I didn't know PJJ was that old. She looks good for someone in their 60s
b***h has been around since DS9 and thats an old show.
I know, I just didn't think about it.
Frick you, the 90's was 10 years ago!
I literally can never shake my perception that 1990 was "about 10 years ago" and 1980 was "about 20 years ago."
>I didn't know the old ugly hag was that old
dude
I don't think she's ugly or hag-like.
I really like Issac's actor, I wish they find more excuses to get him out of the suit
will the blonde lesbo navigator end up hate fricking him?
hope she ends up hate fricking me
I just hope she fricking ends. She's a little PTSD Pam.
They should have showed Captain Losha all the old TV shows of Earth, men look like idiots in the comedies, it would have gotten them a treaty.
That would be much too clever. Instead they just told them an easily-fabricated story about 1 cuck.
Earlier this season I gave props to the series for not falling into the cheap temptation of giving Isaac emotion. I complimented them on their ability to let weirdo aliens remain weirdo aliens. Now I have to take it back. You hurt yourself Orville.
what do you mean? The aliens are still weirdos
I was hoping Isaac gets emotions then realizes he can do better and dumps wrinkly old Claire for a young ensign with a peach ass.
It would have at least shown that it was wrong to screw with him like an appliance.
>young ensign with a peach ass
the lesbian that hates him
>I was hoping Isaac gets emotions then realizes he can do better and dumps wrinkly old Claire for a young ensign with a peach ass.
That would be a funny way of having it blow up in her face.
Why is every sci fi so shit when it comes to aliens? They're all humans BUT TALL or humans with green skin and markings.
Its hard to do truely alien aliens
I think it's more a Star Trek trope for the sake of convenient story-telling and originally low budgets.
Star wars do that too. Mass effect is praised for being a good sci fi universe but every alien is a humanoid standing on 2 legs with 2 hands and a head on their shoulders. The pink blobs are an exception, but they are irrelevant to the story and they do nothing.
it still costs them a lot of money and dev time to rig up new models, that's why there werent even female turians for a while
It was an AAA game. They were supposed to make it good, at least aesthetic-wise.
>every alien is a humanoid standing on 2 legs with 2 hands and a head on their shoulders.
In addition to the Hanar you mentioned, there's also the Elcor, who are more like elephants because their world is high-g. And the Rachni, who are the aliens from Starship Troopers. Plus the Leviathans/Reapers were giant cuttlefish.
>pic related ex dee
They're not bad but look at the details. They have a deformed human skeleton - a spine on the back, ribs covering about have of the torso, hands and legs in the same place. Even the muscle structure is the same as humans, look at the arm and those small ribs muscles. 2 eyes, a nose and a mouth with a chin positioned exactly like humans too. It's like the hit random a lot of times in dark souls. They're not truly alien.
mildly indignant rebuttal
you are forgetting the elcor
You can actually play as most of the aliens in 3 multiplayer, even Volus lmao. if the next one isnt a dumpster fire then maybe we can play as aliens, wouldn't count on it though with modern bioware.
Star Trek couldn't be made today because everyone would laugh at the poor science of retrofuturism. You might as well ask why every planet has a breathable atmosphere or how a universal translator would even work without cultural understanding for things like metaphors.
>or how a universal translator would even work without cultural understanding for things like metaphors
TNG quite literally asked that question once.
budget
Yet another episode where Gordon Malloy doesn't get laid...
what you talking about? he litterally had a hottie wife last ep
I miss her
black dude in bed with that alien girl with his face all busted up legitimately made me laugh out loud.
I'm on the episode after the Keylon attack on earth and so far it's breddy gud, sad that the cute security officer had to get sent back to her home planet and I really don't give a shit about the doctor or her annoying kids but yeah this is nice
Would the alliance really accept an entire planet of amazons that just takes men for breeding without their consent?
>Would the alliance really accept an entire planet of amazons that just takes men for breeding without their consent?
*Union. And they accepted the Moclans who made being a female illegal.
>I was hoping Isaac gets emotions then realizes he can do better and dumps wrinkly old Claire for a young ensign with a peach ass.
This would have been funnier. While I enjoy robot autism it would have been real great character development. Now he'll just stay a Data clone forever.
Timmis is absolutely going to go full Lore by the end of the season. Screencap this post.
Is there any reason they couldn't just install a switch or port that allows them to inoculate him with emotions temporarily? So he plugs himself into the emotion-giving-machine and it's automated and it just fades away after a while?
>cuck out
lol what are you talking about? The entire episode was literally a defense of cucking out. Ed being a cuck and proud of it is what saved the treaty.
I can't get why people think this show is 'based' when episode after episode it's Seth Macfarlane shitting down your throat with his gay politics.
yeah I didn't really understand the conclusion
was it really just "you cheat on your husbands, I cheated on my husband, let's make a deal"
he was saying that societal rules should come second after survival against the kaylons
I can't believe I have to spell it out for you like that.
But what was Kelly saying
they are being purposefully moronic so they can be pretended to be mad about some culture war shit, it's tiresome.
You can tell the new season has Disney all up in it's butt hole.
It needed more Union men enjoying being abused. The alien women not realizing how human kinks work.
>Spits 3 teeth out with roots attached
That was funny. That pussy must be amazing if he's willing to endure that.
What was the deal with this episode?
It was all over the place
wasn't as good as the anti-trans episode
You don't understand. Being cucked is a good thing and can solve a lot of conflicts.
I think the moral of the new episode was basically, "It's alright when women do that.".
> Trying to get an ORV thread going.
Well, good for you! Keep trying slugger.
God forbid there's any character development
isaac will still always remember that he had that different perspective once. Like how I can remember being stoned or drunk when I'm sober. I may not have those altered thought processes now, but I can remember having them.
Reminder that The Orville thinks this is what giant space ships should do when they're just pulled up alongside one another. They're not docked. This is what Orshits think is normal.
what is the issue?
They aren't docked or tethered. They're just holding stationary mere meters from one another in the vastness of space while they take shuttles back and forth.
Yes, that's true. That's what's happening. You think they should be linked together in some way? How? Why? They have maneuvering thrusters to keep them in position relative to eachother.
There is no in-world reason for them to be that close. They fricked up and created a ship design for the ayys that is extremely wide then realized their goof and had to make them almost touching to get the shot they wanted. Contrast this with a show like nuBSG that used less pretentious, more "natural" cinematography. So they could have ships of all shapes and sizes and just shoot them whichever way that worked, shake the camera a bit, and call it a day (and fans loved it).
99.9% of "sci"-fi unironically believes aliens are just humans with tumors and skin cancer anyway so
Turn your brain off and just enjoy I guess
do you think they wouldn't want to do something else lol? it's just simply too expensive and impractical to consistently feature non-humanoid aliens that look even half-decent
What should they be doing?
I get you're trolling but thank you for prompting me to sperg anyway, which is what I wanted to do in the first place. They should be maintaining a reasonable distance so they don't literally collide with one another.
>so they don't literally collide with one another.
This isn't the fricking ocean anon, they're not bobbing about in the space waves. Once they're in the same reference frame there's no reason why they should spontaneously start moving towards each other.
I'll repeat it for you: there is no in-world reason for them to be that close to each other. Zero. Nill. None. Shuttles are designed to travel untold kilometers to transport their crew. Those two ships being that close is nothing but a liability.
You're getting yourself worked into a tizzy over nothing. There's no reason not to have the ships close together. They are not going to collide.
>There's no reason not to
I don't think you understand how anything works in the world of adults with responsibility.
What are the reasons not to
Again: collision is not an issue.
>Why not? I mean you have to have a reason not to do whatever because, like, everything is fine and ok because, like, I say so OK?!?!?
OK
Why stand off at a distance?
>BUT.. LIKE... WHY CAN'T WE JUST DO WHATEVER?
Literally why this world is going to hell. Zoomers are fricking ignorant moronic children.
why not stand off across the entire galaxy?
Exactly. Because everything is always one of two polar extremes. Zoomers for the win.
>Once they're in the same reference frame there's no reason why they should spontaneously start moving towards each other.
They're moving in orbit. Unless they're in the exact plane, they'll drift together or apart.
OK, so: they are
>Ok; so... What, do I have: to say
>to GET~ my way on this??
>They're moving in orbit. Unless they're in the exact plane, they'll drift together or apart.
There is this magic thing called a computer that can keep a ship parked precisely in orbit.
>meters?
Which one is in front?
oh you deserved this
ok?
Your fear of intimacy is a problem if it's started to impact your parking lot decisions now.
Dear lord glad they didn't ruin Isaac they could've just recorded his memory and then play it back like even analog would work lol what a cop-out
>Dear lord glad they didn't ruin Isaac they could've just recorded his memory and then play it back like even analog would work lol what a cop-out
That woudl require them to think about their plot for more than five minute. That's not who they write. It's painfully obvious that they just start with a dramatic scene, or plot twist, or "moral lesson" that they want to sperg about and then write backwards from there. It's why every episode of The Orville has a million idiotic plot holes.
my dude obviously they wanted to keep isaac as isaac instead of completely changing his character. It's futuristic space science fiction so of course they can justify whatever they want whenever they want. Sci-fi inevitably has idiotic plot holes, the point was just to give you a taste of what Isaac would be like with emotions. They might even revisit that plot point in the future like they have with others.
No, moron. They obviously started with the "choice" they wanted Claire to have (just like they gave Ed and Gordon contrived "choices") and then they worked the plot backwards from there. They used moronic technobabble about Isaac's design to make that choice a thing but then are forced to handwave when obvious things are pointed out like just simulate his memory back to him. Even Star Trek did that with Spock in the movies.
sci-fi is just fantasy magic set in the future, you can always cry that the magic isn't magic enough
I'm "crying" that the fricking plot dont make no sense, homosexual.
cry more you hysterical hormone injecting freak
This guy is chad
this guy is virgin
there are better things to complain about like how we're all supposed to act like the doctor is hot
>like just simulate his memory back to him
Has it ever been demonstr5ated that they can just dump his memory like that?
He survived physically, but he's been raped. They exploited his lack of self-preservation to get him to volunteer for a dangerous invasive procedure to alter his fundamental nature. They treated him like a broken human instead of respecting his unique alien nature.
>robot rape and suicide
Yikes! I can't see any trigger warnings on this series!! I thought new disney was better than this. Y'all shouldn't support this shit
>Yikes! I can't see any trigger warnings on this series!!
And that's a good thing.
I thought this show was a family guy tier spoof of Star Trek. Basically just nonsense humor with no substance.
It's actually like... A show? What the frick.
Something had to take Star treks place, the expanse went to shit too.
some early episodes have le wacky humor but s3 is straight up star trek kino
I hear this every season, and every season I tune in to find out the plot is some stupid relationship drama shit with the thinnest trek premise that hardly has anything to do with the events of the episode tacked on.
Tell me *the* episode of season 3 that is most trekkish and I will give it one more shot. If it's yet another 'deanna/crusher get a boyfriend' tier story I am dropping the show for good.
See you next week.
Yeah its bullshit. The entire show is garbage
>Orville:Horizons
its a different show. Try the cellphone episode. its about morality of time travel.
You have to understand. Star Trek is a social drama. It has design of lacking personal drama. Orville's problem is it has personal drama, and sometimes its played for laughs, otherwise they'd get sued.
As long as it holds to the tradition of ST:TNG, Quantum Leap, Time Trax, etc under the setting of galactic war and politics, ill take it.
S3 is also hot garbage.
It's trying to be "a show" and failing
>and failing
Show is just fine. This season has a couple unwatchable episodes but that’s it. Otherwise show is great and you’re a homosexual
sorry to see you can't cope yet with the show going to shit, you'll get around eventually like everyone else is
Uh it’s not and it’s going to get a season 4
So I shilled for all this gay shit and bad drama for nothing?
Whether you did it or not would’ve had no impact. The show is one of the best out right now and now that it’s not restricted to cable more people will experience it.
>now that it’s not restricted to cable more people will experience it!
It was on Fox for free and people stopped watching after the gay Space Lizard orgy. How does it being on Hulu help now?
>The show is one of the best out right now and now that it’s not restricted to cable more people will experience it.
>one of
Maybe in the top 100 "best shows out right now" if you give it a lot of credit for the production quality. Maybe. It doesn't crack the top 50 though. The Orville is not a good show.
Terrible bait, but nice try
> it’s going to get a season 4!
Cast has new jobs. Sets have been broken down. Props are in boxes at Heritage Auctions ready to be sold.
It's over. Let it go.
>It’s over bc I said so
Lol. It’s probably Hulu’s best show. Would’ve done better on Disney+
Nobody watches Fox or visits their website.
last thing we need is disney's fricking bullshit to ruin the show even more
The show’s leftist writing comes from the show runners being Never Trumpers. Aside from the backpedaling in the Tale of Two Topas, the show isn’t bad compared to almost everything else out there.
>It’s probably Hulu’s best show
"I't b-better than Love, Victor!"
Now you're just making us sad for you.
Name another new season of a Hulu original show you’ve watched in the last 6 months
What We Do in The Shadows. New season started yesterday.
Now please stop crying.
You do enough crying in your room alone for the both of us reddit spacing. Enjoy your vampires
> No U!
Snappy comeback. Also watch Revervation Dogs, which is great, but that was more than 6 months ago. New season of that in August tho.
>taking sci-fi storytelling to an entirely new level
I like the show but I think it's more accurate to say it's taking it back to a level it used to be on
Screen shot was “Seth’s” response bc the rest of the tweet was begging for a 4th season
>Probably Hulu's best show
I think OMITB is better. I like both though.
I have a feeling they're going to fumble the conclusion of the whole Kaylon war. They just showed us their magical tech excuse for ending it quick. Then they treated Isaac like a disposable appliance just for the sake of establishing that he's immune to it. It would be better to leave the conflict unresolved than to end it like this.
It disappoints me because all the episodes before this one were great. I see the beginning of a slow train wreck.
Just do whatever. It'll be fine.
Is it another BOREclan troon episode?
No, there are some inverse Moclans but they're B-plot and don't do much
>and don't do much
They literally cuck every male on the ship, anon, and the episode ends with cucking actually being A Good Thing™
Never type a post at me again
Never post in a thread I'm posting in ever again
I'm sickened to even consider you my fellow man, a mewling nothing is all you are
Seth, you're taking this all very personally.
Well I guess I'm going to have to skip this episode too
Imagine trying to gaslight that a stupidly tight CGI spaceship shot wasn't stupidly tight
>gaslight
no, you're just wrong
How can anyone watch this show. It's cringe as frick. I couldn't get past the first season even though I tried, I really tried.
OFFICIAL EPISODE GUIDE

S3:

Or, and this is just an idea. You could watch the show like a normal person, sequentially.
I did. Twice. Those eps are the ones that made the cut. criteria:not too much woke gay mocclan bullshit and worth watching a 3rd time some day.
Besides the first season is so bad if you try to watch it all you might quit before it gets better.
Pretty gud episode, actually felt like the Orville again with the humor and lore building
I'm watching the show for he first time and I'm really enjoying it but why did the cute strong alien girl leave the show just for them to replace her with a pepsi version?
She thought she could do better than Seth.
Stronk alien girl was dating Seth outside the show, and then she wasn't. They gave her a nice send off, but obviously they had ideas they wanted for that character that couldn't continue with the same actor that just broke up with the main guy.
don't forget to skip the troony episode
Watch it all and clap or you're literally a chud.
Just watch it and stay mad at Kurtzman trek please
I dindt like season 1, felt like a lot of TNG recycle ideas. Is season 2 better?
Orville is a good show, just remember its not meant to change society, its just a TV show to enjoy while eating premade grocery store sushi
yes
Please just watch it guys. We're trying to beat nuTrek.
>trying to beat nuTrek
Star Trek has always been shit
>muh culture war
kys.
It's more of a relationship drama in space.
The double standard in this 'comedy' was ridiculous.
I hope they do a S4. I just need to see where Claire/Isaac goes. This last episode was just... I can't even. Chills. My goosebumps had goosebumps.
Ensign charly needs to sit on my face
are you cute girl?
I like her sex scenes on 13 reasons why
so is this a legit sci fi show? i can't fricking stand seth mcfarlane or his brand of "comedy" but if that's not the point of the show it might be alright
I’d say season 2 was sci fi. Season 3 is mostly moral of the story episodes
First two seasons are more comedy focused. Third season becomes more serious, but feel a little more like the TNG movies than TNG. If you know what I mean.
I hate Charly so fricking much, holy shit
At least Seth's other gf could act
>Seth's other gf
Anon.....
Fine, at least Seth’s other beard could act.
why cant we live in a matriarchy baka
We will we just have to beat the chuds first and keep making Star treks like this. So heartening watching these strong females give each other respectful nods while the males finally do the work.
> Orville isn't woke.
> Here's our Bechdel Test scene. Please clap.
The ironic thing about the Bechdel Test is that it's women that are most aware of it. Remove men from the equation and they know these b***hes should all become angry, backstabbing c**ts towards each other.
Bordus was hilarious this episode.
>explain that the new ayys hate men and want nothing to do with a culture that treats men positively
>Bortus calls them intolerant and asks why anyone would put up with them
>womp-womp, everyone rolls their eyes
>Bortus you silly goose, don't you know your culture hates women? How funny and ironic!
>ignore the fact that just 2 episodes ago he was literally weeping over his daughter's unjust treatment and had to divorce his own intolerant husband for not accepting their daughter as female
Incredibly tone-deaf. Didn't sit right at all for me. It would have been funny if Klyden said it, but Bortus is literally counter-culture and sympathizes with Moclan women, he has every right to call the maneater ayys out for being intolerant/sexist.
They're always going to go for the stupid joke even if it means their show makes no sense and their characters are undermined. They will literally look at you and wonder why you even care so much.
That's just the average level of attention to detail for the orville.
The Joke is at the expense of Moclans. It isn't them making fun of Bortus. You are just looking for a excuse to be offended.
you are projecting hard dude
I got scared this season, Orbros.
We aren't going to let Trumpers win in '24 are we?
>fun kaylon stuff
>surround it with stupid relationship drama and yas qween aliens
Why do they do shit like this in every episode?
Because the people who make it don't share your politics or your cultural values and really want to be able to insert their gay bullshit and partisan sperging whenever they can.
They shit all over the feminist aliens the whole show like they were moronic rednecks. Also compared them as equally batshit to the gay ass mocclans.
I did like seeing Bortus be the main one to call them out but with how vocal they are about hating his species it was hypocritical of them to barely talk about it.
It was short-changed as a plot because they had 3 fricking plots running in an hour. Femaliens/robotfeels/dangersex Show would have been better if they cut the dangersex plot down to just a single advancing scene of Lamar getting hurt but instead they played out the whole plot line in one episode. TNG would have sprinkled that character shit over multiple episodes.
It's the extra 15 minutes every episode. A lot of extra scenes that should have been cut are kept in the running time. The whole bit with Ed and Gordon carrying the luggage wouldn't have made it more than one simple sight gag, and instead it ran how long?
You saw what you wanted to see because you're invested in The Orville being some kind of answer to woke propaganda that it clearly, demonstrably is not.
The only problem I had with mocclan gays is they dominated screen time in S1&2 to the detriment of the other characters. You're not going to get any shows with zero woke shit in them because the people that make the shit are in that bubble. You just take it on a case by case basis and Orville hasn't lost me so it's doing better than nu-trek prior to SNW.
People would have laughed at a one-off gay porn gag in "Primal Urges". The problem was it just keeps going on and on and it became cringe. It turned off a lot of normies. My parents were even watching the show early on and never brought it up or watched it again after that.
The problem was they would put out a great episode and you're like "aw yess" and then you're excited for next week and it's "homosexual shit hour" and you're disappointed. And then it happened again....and again. I would almost prefer it went the nutrek track and was so shit I could ignore it altogether but when Orville's good it really scratches that itch so I gots to see if it's a good week or troonyhomosexual sjw story hour week every week.
The whole episode I was expecting Lore, instead I got gay bullshit. Timmy should have been lore.
Human Issac a cute
>Characters get humanoid robot servants
>They're overly mean to it for no reason
This trope is fricking stupid
Yeah but they can't show the truth on a family show
>Characters get humanoid robot servants
>they frick them
So, like buck breaking? Was Tariq right this whole time?
It's pretty true to life. People get frustrated and scream and swear at virtual assistants when they frick up too much, I could totally imagine them doing the same thing to a humanoid robot. All you have to do is convince people they're not sentient and all disobedience is malfunction, suddenly they'll be abusing the things left and right. Give them a "set right" button that fixes disobedience instantly and you think they won't use it?
>people get black servants
>they whip them and rape them in front of their families and friends (buck breaking) for no reason
Seriously, am I the only one who expected the new robot to be Lore to Issac's, near-data, rip off?
I was thinking elaborate ruse to kidnap Isaac back to the Kaylon or some shit.
They should have kept the show a funny, relatable star trek rip off. That's the only reason I watched this in the first place.
Imagine the sex
It would probably be pretty mechanical.
>slimed, botted, and boomer bleached
They've always had a weird obsession with this dusty old black lady's sexuality for some reason. I think it's a gay thing because she never gets a normal relationship.
It's impossible not to notice how much of the show is about her
They'll tell you it's because of DS9 and how she's "beloved" but it's a quarter-century too late for the storylines they're giving her. She's more like those kids grandmother than their mom. And it's really just a cope for Seth and the writer's gay Judy Garland -like fetish they have for her. Gays love simping for raggedy trainwreck women who are nominally "stunning"
Wouldn't you love to hear Norm's comments about that at read through?
"Gosh Old Black Lady. You're so pretty and sexy. I Yaphet would sure like to lie down on top of you."
>walk onto the deck
>see this
what would you do
So Ed was in engineering prior to taking a command position, Bortus I'm assuming security based on this episode. What about Kelly?
>Sorry, wrong deck.

I want a tsundere Charlie gf and I want one now.
Same
I fricking hate the fact they made her lesbian in the episode before this one.
She could be bi and fall for a guy next. It's not like she's some bulldyke with danger hair like on SNW.
>She could be bi and fall for a guy next.
Frick off zoomer. That shit is a meme. She's a dyke. Get fricked with your "theoretical sexuality"
99% of the time in these shows, if a girl says she loves/loved another girl, she is only attracted to girls. I'll be pleasantly surprised if this is not the case in Orville, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
Bisexuality is a fricking meme.
Your level of moronic cope is literally the punchline of a joke
Your dogmatic belief in forcing people into binary categories makes you no better than a kaylon
Could also be bi
I have some issues with the Kaylon. Surely as a super smart AI collective they would be able to emulate emotions and emotional entities states as it would incredibly useful in strategic contexts
If they were exposed to it enough then they might. Most of them spend their time among other robots all day every day.
little shits deserved it
why would slaves be designed with weapons in thier heads? i woulda just assumed thats an upgrade they gave themselves later
Home defense.
When gun-bots are outlawed, only outlaws will have gun-bots.
either way it was just too hamfisted seth rehashing azimov hoping dummies who never read it will think seth is a genius.. the entire b-plot with the family was unnecessary
Certainly unnecessary in the sense that we already knew the gist of why they rebelled. I'm all for showing instead of telling, but the time for that was last season when we first found out. Once you've used exposition, then all you can do is walk away and let the audience think of their own interesting filler.
What's dark here is that they showed us the robots being used as machines, and then they immediately abused Isaac in the same way without any awareness of it.
yeh i thought the original kaylon 2 -parter covered it. it was great at the time to me cuz you didn't expect a light hearted show to suddenly turn that leffield and get so dark
but now were just beating a dead horse and ruining the comfy spirit of the show
I think the Kaylon intentionally steered away from emotions because it's some irrational biological bullshit.
I don't mind that her nose looks like a clit. She's still cute.
this show was better when it was still a comedy
It still is.
is this gay ass looking show actually good?
Mostly yeah.
fascinating. seth is a hack, i cant be convinced otherwise, and i hated farscape. should i even bother?
I don't care what you watch. Do or don't.
had potential but went to shit early in the 2nd season and never really recovered despite having a decent episode here or there.
the show used to be funny, s3 has zero laughs. are they trying to make serious sci fi now? what the hell. needs more shit like that dude sitting on an egg
I get Seth is trying to be all serious now but part of the Orville's charm was the comedy
I actually like that they let him experience emotions for a while so he at least has that data. In a sense, he has proof that when he had emotions his own programming/neural system desired and appreciated having them and experiencing them.
I mean why would his own instruments lie to him about the effects of emotions? etc.
