A few of them are OK, but yeah overall they're pretty bad. Weirdly the background music is God-tier. Or at least it was, season 1 had some actually incredible stuff but towards the end of the show it felt like they stopped trying. The channel that used to upload the background music even stopped halfway through season 3 itself.
What's the Use in Feeling Blue was the biggest offender of that IMO. You get Patti fucking LuPone to sing and you stuff her song with a shitload of lyrics that make her struggle to really hit the notes she should be hitting. Ironically My Little Reason Why, the song actually sung by Blue Diamond, is one of the best in the series, and doesn't try to cram shit in at all. It's also the last song in the series so maybe they finally learned.
any show that makes music a big gimmick is going to have a lot of misses but SU's standouts are a lot better than other shows. Surely even you can agree Love Like You is undeniable
oh i think it has some decent songs... just not very many. most of the songs rebecca sugar probably wrote in like five minutes on a ukulele so it's *fine* for a cartoon but i would call it not very good in an objective sense, it's not music i would just listen to for enjoyment
They seem off somehow. Like a bunch of words and instruments were mashed together without rhythm or melody.

Fuck you.
the writers try and cram a lot into one line of singing and the end result is someone hastily stumbling through

i forgot Pearl's VA was an actual broadway singer, that makes the songwriting even more egregious
the movie soundtrack goes hard as hell
yeah i dunno dude kinda just sounds like a Bruno Mars song to me
Not that anon but what's your thoughts on this song
not really convincing me anon... estelle is a good singer but i just thought the song was generic and kinda out-of-sync with the vocals
I like the ones with pearl and i despise the ones with amethyst

Idk I feel what can I do for you is peak. They really struck gold getting Susan Egan for rose.
it's not even that the music is bad, it's just really forgettable. like the musical parts of Tangled
>Rebecca sugar is a hack, more news at 11'
doesn't she identify as non-binary and is also in a heterosexual relationship with her husband? lmao
LA brain rot is very real and she is one of million effected by it.
