I can't believe I'm defending Tool as I've never made it through one of their albums, but, they are a sight better progressive metal than Dream Theater, and every drummer I've known that was a Danny Carey fanboy ends up becoming a beast at four-way coordination. Also Schism, one song, changed the whole technical metal scene overnight. I watched it happen.
