Edward if I can become a vampire too. Her version of vampires isn’t traditional but they all have unique powers, so you could create a decent character if you wanted to. She had really good ideas throughout the series but wasn’t able to flesh them out well because she’s a newbie author.

At one point the hate for the movies was so strong that some people who liked them felt shame and guilt for liking them. It's just how our inbuilt societal mechanisms work. You can even make people question their strongest beliefs by making them perceive that the majority doesn't approve of them.

I'm gay because I'm calling out a bunch of gays gushing over a series for teen girls? There are homosexuals in this thread talking about which homosexual team they're on. Disgusting.

I think they are like Christmas movies. Mediocre but comfy. Also the fact that they aged badly and still give comfort compared to most new movies, shows something.

I think it's the same with pop music.
90% of pop music is shit when it's new. But listen to it, 10 to 15 years later and it evokes something completely else.

Truth. I had great memories seeing it with my friends in theatres. It became a mini tradition for us to see them in theatres each year. It’s just not the same going to see a movie anymore but those memories, like seeing LotR in theatre, can’t be taken away. I’ve also been seeing a resurgence of young women who want to imitate twilightcore (whatever that means), but it means they’re not turbo bdsm bawds so it’s a good thing.

Bella is written as empty and blandly as possible so any girl can self-insert as her. She's the worst character in her own story.

It was partially a metaphor for sexual purity as most all vampire novels are now. If you watch the whole series (or read the books) you’ll see Edward/Bella are quite chaste and once they get married they delight in sex; as is proper. A counterculture message today but at that time it was something nice to see on screen. Also Bella is the perfect protagonist to self insert. So most all girls wanted to be cool like her. I’d say Alice is the best though.
