It's also pretty funny too. I'm usually championing for more original shit in animation, but this is one IP-based project I'm excited to see in full.

If Muto keeps this up, he'll find a way to make the grim Future Ooo feel less depressing, defeating its whole purpose.

Though this could be from him cleaning himself up a bit before setting out on whatever quest this is. His arm is different too, but in episode 2 we already see that he can freely modify it/swap it out (in the pub with Simon it's got fingers and a visible skin on the upper arm, compared to the fully metallic arm with nuts for a hand later).
Or, is this a flashback to earlier in our Finn's timeline, perhaps to before Jake dies? If so, then the tattoo alone was a red herring after all.
