law enforcement wasnt a threat in the sopranosverse after livia died and melfi did 911. Its possible without the major story rewrites the sopranos would have continued the "mobster with mommy issues" storyline as and FBI vs Tony story. and the wire wouldnt have gotten made it would be too similar
Well after season 3 the show doesn't really go anywhere, so they could just rewrite the earlier seasons with the better later plots included. The mobster with mommy issues was meant to be the main part of season three if Livia didn't die
