Gen Alpha has no idea who that is. That is clearly for the parents, most of which also have no idea who that is. Seriously, how many people who watched Nostalgia Critic grew up and had kids?
Literally nobody under 20 watches cartoons. And nobody has in a long time. I'd say korra/ steven universe was the cutoff point.
Showrunners are way past keeping up appearances and pretending they make stuff for kids. They know what they're making is exclusively watched by some terminally online twitterites, who they, themselves are, too and make stuff that appeals to that crowd.
>WOAH DUDE SONIC GOT GOOD PRESS FOR DOING A CHRIS CHAN REFERENCE >LET'S ALSO DO THAT
modern nickelodeon is such cancer. so glad the all-star battle royale game or whatever has been handed over to the devs entirely instead of the fucking retards in charge doing shit like "we can't use the voices, it'd be expensive" in a character-driven brawler
Nostalgia Critic unironically has a pretty iconic design compared to Enter who is just a bearded autist. Also Doug takes the jab in stride while Enter would probably have a breakdown
Billy and Mandy also references the rape scene in Clockwork Orange. In the Christmas Special Malcom McDowell plays a vampire and hums singing in the rain to himself
I thought people were done with confusing millennials with zoomers but apparently not. It's ironic that half the people bitching about millennials are millennials themselves.
Season 4 was still decent, although the cracks were starting to show. Seasons 5-6 were when it really started to suck, and Season 7 was when it became irredeemable.
the movie heralded the end of spongebob for me because I didn't even particularly like the movie, and S4 felt like a continuation of the movie's pacing and brand of humor. Was a huge spongebob fan for the S1-3 stuff. I had no idea hillenberg wanted it to be done. I did know he was absolutely against spongebob babies...
I've gained a new appreciation for the movie as being "not as bad as it could have been" but I still get a bit pissy that plankton had, saw, and used the secret formula... but he just.. forgot? because the paper was taken away from him?
I asked my dad about it when we left the theatre, and learned that you NEVER use your brain to think about plotholes and inconsistencies because people older and "wiser" than you will just get pissy that you're thinking and they aren't.
He actually accused me of being ungrateful for being taken to see the movie. Fuck off, one of my favourite brands has been kinda tarnished by a shitty movie, I ask a couple clarifying questions to make sure I'm not being stupid and missing something, and you're going to turn it into a personal attack? Cripes, my father is/was a cuck retard.
...
What was I talking about? I blacked out.
The movie being the intended ending makes the secret formula thing make sense, because Plankton would be in prison so knowing the secret formula would be useless. I've seen fans try to create a timeline of SpongeBob with the movie being at the end, but it's really just a fool's errand. SpongeBob was always intended to be self-contained episodes, like Looney Tunes.
That episode was great, the part where they eat tires was pretty funny.

Neat
Post movie spongebob may as well not exist.
They made a Spongebob episode with a Nostalgia Critic reference.
Gen Alpha has no idea who that is. That is clearly for the parents, most of which also have no idea who that is. Seriously, how many people who watched Nostalgia Critic grew up and had kids?
Yes it is for the parents. What is your point, autismo?
Read beyond the first sentence of my post, retard.

Children's shows are not made for children anymore. They're made for adults who watch children's shows.

when did Spongebob turn into fucking Simpsons?
After the movie
>WOAH DUDE SONIC GOT GOOD PRESS FOR DOING A CHRIS CHAN REFERENCE

fuck what a bunch of dumbasses
as dumb as this was douge's response was based
It's really weird how often Doug does something unironically hilarious.
It's odd because he looks like NC, but his behavior/criticisms were much more closer to someone like Mr. Enter.
Nostalgia Critic unironically has a pretty iconic design compared to Enter who is just a bearded autist. Also Doug takes the jab in stride while Enter would probably have a breakdown
They made a Spongebob episode where Spongebob becomes trans.
Not trans. Pretending to be a girl to help squidward get some octopussy
They made an Angry Beavers episode with a Full Metal Jacket reference.
They made a My Life as a Teenage Robot episode with a Full Metal Jacket reference.
They made a hey duggee episode with apocalypse now references
They made a Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy episode with a Full Metal Jacket reference.
Millennials haven't seen this episode
Millennials don't know who Billy is.
>gets executed by firing squad
What did he do to deserve that
Billy and Mandy also references the rape scene in Clockwork Orange. In the Christmas Special Malcom McDowell plays a vampire and hums singing in the rain to himself
Millennials haven't seen the Billy and Mandy Christmas special. It was kino.
tf is this meme youre forcing here?
He's spreading truth. Millennials wouldn't understand Billy and Mandy.
Millenial. def watched this and remember both of these
>Millennials
millennials grew up watching the show you two retards
I thought people were done with confusing millennials with zoomers but apparently not. It's ironic that half the people bitching about millennials are millennials themselves.
They also have a Peter Lorre reference
who
>YOU GO STROLLIN' LIKE PETER LAURIE
>IN THE YEEEEEEAR OF THE CAT!
Peter Griffin
Now this is one that surprised me.
There's also a Nosferatu reference, and made another Nosferatu reference in one of the recent seasons.
>another Nosferatu reference
why redo old jokes? I saw they did another Doodlebob episode. Why rehash things? Have we truly run out of ideas?
Full Metal Jacket references are pretty common.
>seasons 1 to 3 of SpongeBob: actual original jokes
>seasons 4 to the rest: DUDE REMEMBER THAT MEDIA? HERE IS A JOKE ABOUT IT
That started in like Season 7. People think everything changed in Season 4 because it was post-movie but the change was more gradual.

there's a No Country for old men reference in an episode of the Amazing world of gumball
I'm tired of pretending the SpongeBob movie wasn't shit. Same with The Simpsons movie.
that's nothing, they made an attica prison riot reference in spongebob
