Slightly older than the Bible.
And the part of the Bible that is close to when it occurred is concerned with a different region of the world. Do you even read the Bible?
They literally happened as described. The athena pallas was from troy and has a line of providence until it disappeared in byzantium, a god made artefact. Achieropoetia. Many such cases.

That is doing a lot of heavy lifting in your statement, moron. None of the nonsense involving miracles ever happened. God isn't real but morons who have religious faith and who don't believe in logic are real.
>I believe in logic >btw literally nothing has the capacity to spontaneously generate energy and the laws of physics >oh, and a bunch of random matter smashing together to make a monkey processor has direct access to ideal, all governing laws of logic innately, don’t question it, even though I can’t describe these laws without circular reasoning
Lol

it’s weird that you profess belief in greek, egyptian religion etc and midwits instantly zero in on christianity for some reason which was barely mentioned.
Again, my post was saying all the bronze age epics are true. You are the one bringing up christianity out of nowhere to get upset about it- you are still doing it. Coming across as a bit of a fixation

Because they’re atheists larping? They would hate the roman state religion as much as any other, it’s just a way to market secularism to the right.
reddit is just into orientalism because they hate their own culture. if you point out archeological evidence that sumerian kings buried all their servants alive with them they will start defending it because they were brown
Greeks and Romans were never your culture.
You're just the offshoot of Celtic barbarians who were conquered and raped by the Romans. It's like if the Chinese were proud of being conquered and bred by the mongols and proudly proclaimed their mongoloid heritage. That's you
Plato clearly relates folklore that already existed a lot of the time. Many cultures have an invisibility ring in their stories and plato mentions that as well, doesn’t mean he didn’t hear about it from somewhere else.
He invented the story of Atlantis where Athens defeats them in a war, there's no precedent to Atlantis in particular. In the dualogue where he introduces it the Egyptian priest relates that Egypt has a uniquely long historical memory but other civilizations lose their histories from floods of their lowlands but also conflagrations of their highlands while the Nile protects then from both.
He got it from mythology, the island of atlas was already a thing. I get that he’s just using it as a device to explain his weird theory about the world being coeternal with the forms but he’s drawing on stories that had some precedent in folklore.

There were other humans named Atlas in Greek myth before Plato but the myth of the island of Atlantis with its first king Atlas was his creation, not borrowed from anything else.
It was a battering ram. They were commonly stylized as bulls and horses, built and left at the site of their usage. Also humpty dumpty was a bombard that fell from its defensive perch on a fortified wall during a battle.
Friendly reminder that the real Helen didn't go to Troy with Paris but hid in Egypt for the entire war and the Helen with Paris in troy that the Greeks were trying to get back was a doppelganger fake that Hera made to trick Paris into running off with a fake copy and not the real deal as a punishment for not choosing her in the apple contest and it wasn't until after the war ended that everyone figured out they had been fighting over the fake copy.
look at the actual sites for the unearthed trojan walls, there were like 7 different versions of troy or something, but they all look like tiny pathetic neolithic villages compared to how it's depicted in art

it's not mentioned in the bible

that's like saying 524 is slighty less modern than 2024
Neither was the region currently known as Alaska and the Eskimos
Why would it be
All the biblical, sumerian, akkadian, babylonian, greek, egyptian etc epics happened in some way. You’re reddit if you deny it
>all of them must have happened! they must all have roots in reality!
that's peak reddit-think.
They literally happened as described. The athena pallas was from troy and has a line of providence until it disappeared in byzantium, a god made artefact. Achieropoetia. Many such cases.

The new testament is boring and doesn't contain any cool mythology though.

>dude egyptian religion is coo-
>CHRISTIANITY IS FAKE YOU FRICKING CHUD IT SUCKS
ah yes an unbiased objective mind
Right, because the first post wasn't some idiot bringing up Christianity for no reason when people are talking about a movie of the Trojan War.
I never professed that belief. Why are you talking to me incel? I don't even know you.

I swear I run into you all the time. If you want romans to be brown so bad that’s fine, I don’t give a shit
>because they were brown
soomerbros... are we going to stand for this insult?
I’m into orientalist because I like all the paintings of harems
Sure thing, Graham.
neither is atlantis but that’s clearly meant to link in with the global flood lore. it’s the bronze age cinematic universe
Atlantis is Plato's fanfiction.

How could people be this naive back then?
I know right?
>meanwhile people believe something born with a penis is a woman
>How could people be this naive back then?
You'd think people in Troy would be familiar with the term "Trojan Horse."
Yeah because people aren't naive now. No way.
They should have listened to Laocoön
Too soon

You just made that up. They discuss it in the book. It was a present.
what if someone in the horse farted or sneezed?
that happened in the original story. fortunately for the greeks, a sea monster came and ate the trojan who pointed it out.

>he thinks the Trojan war was actually about Helen
>flimsy pretext for expansion war was actually a fake
Ok and?
That's an alternate telling, yes, but there's no singular canon to Greek myths.
>conspiracy theorists in 1500 BC be like
This is a myth, just like the brazen bull
your wife didn't think i was a myth last night.
Hey now
No sticky for the 3500th anniversary?
No sticky for the 3500th anniversary???
You read his version, right?
no peaking through the half knocked up bits of wood!
Atlantis is real because Tolkien claimed to have ancestral memories of it
tolkien claimed he drank magic israelite blood every weekend.
Redpill me on Alcibiades

why aren't there any kino's about this era?
There needs to be an illiad, odyssey, aenid trilogy. Maybe throw dante in there as a spin off at the end
do wolf teets actually look like that? i mean are they actually smooth and hairless like human breasts?
Yes, they do.
None of this shit ever happened, it was a myth even in ancient times.
People would fall for this even today. Everyone loves free shit.
Sabine women were asking for it
History is a lie
History is a godzillawash.
No it didn't. That's like someone 3000 years from now saying a guy got bit by a spider and turned into a superhero
spiderman is real though.
