>he was good once
He really, really wasn't. His comics are shit, their adaptations are shit, all the changes he introduced are shit, etc.

    Who was more responsible?

Millar shouldn't even be in that group, he's not even remotely to blame for the current state of Marvel. Hell, you can make the argument that civil war looks like a masterpiece compared to the current shit Marvel puts out. At least Civil War was FUN. Most of the time.

      Loeb(short term) > Millar(long term) > Bendis > who?

Has Johns even written anything for Marvel?

An Avengers run between Busiek and Bendis, a Thing mini, and a Vision mini.

Geoff Johns left Avengers and quit Marvel due to Bill Jemas micromanaging the book, this led to him going exclusive with DC and writing a lot of their big books and events, while the Avengers were handed to Chuck Austen, then Benis.

True but Brevoort even said it was basically an inevitability that Johns would go exclusive to DC at some point. A shame since Red Zone is one of my favorite Avengers arcs.

Under those circumstances, that's obvious. If they'd treated him better, it would just come down to who was offering him more money and bigger books.

Red Zone was excellent. I don't even like the rest of his run, but for those six issues, Johns was on fire.

Bendis was a good writer when he was kept in check. He's the perfect example of what can go wrong when you give a writer too much power.

Nah, he's fantastic when it comes to padding your comics. Need a 50 comic run or event that only uses one single concept? Bendis is your man. That doesn't mean he's great at remembering his own plotlines and characters tho.

Nobody's saying he's good now. They're just saying his older work that people have liked is still good. For example I hate Slott but I still liked his Mighty Avengers, even if the ending was weak and rushed.

What, you didn't like the masterpiece that was Jessica Jones being rawdogged analy by Luke Cage's big black wiener?
(Yeah, I don't get Alias being liked either. Its crap, imo.)

Does anyone have that image of the worst comic writers and it lists their good stuff? Funny how what was once a clever joke is the current state of Cinemaphile.

      Anonymous

I think it was a most hated Cinemaphile writers chart and I remember it having Bendis, Ennis, and Miller.
Ennis and Miller have made good comics at some point. Bendis has not.

It was a joke image. It listed writers that were infamous on Cinemaphile and listed their good comics as stuff to avoid. The person who made it was being ironic.

He's bad but there are honestly worse writers that have done far worse things that characters have never recovered from, still he drop the ball on his losh comics and just abandon it while planning to make a terrible 3d cartoon with their corpse if it ever gets picked up, so I have my gripes with him

wrong bald frick, Morrison laid the grown work for a big name author throwing away decades of continuity because he had to tell his super duper special story

Not really, it’s fine in comparison to everything we saw from the ultimate line at first. But it’s just a haphazard retelling of better stories, pete stops growing as a character in the 6th issue than bendis spends the next ten years telling one year of peters life before he dies like a b***h
