It's a bit too cheery and misses the point. Tenma coming around at the end was a bit too Hollywood for my tastes.
I think the 2000s version is fine. The animation is nice and it gets the tone right. Even if I don't really like how it truncates and adapts some of the stories.
>Flushed Away (2006): directed by Sam Fell and David Bowers >Astro Boy (2009): directed by David Bowers
This has one of the directors from Dreamworks/Aardman's Flushed Away
I've never seen the movie or the anime, but I've recently started on the volumes put out by Darkhorse and I genuinely love it. It's just pure, simple cartoony fun with little to none of the Japanisms that turn me off of even the most critically acclaimed weebshit.
Like big hero 6
Like Up
more like shut the hell up
Why are you watching the much better CG adaptation when you can watch the 80s one?
How does the OG compare to the new Pluto on netflix?
the 80s version was peak astro boy.
the original 60s version tezuka was disgusted with.

What was wrong with the 2000s Astro Boy anime?
