pretty much this, when people try to use Monty's weak plot against him I remind them he hasn't created Robyn. It was dumb fun not offensive uglyness
It was garbage the whole way through but accidentally making Ruby come across a homophobe right before the show unceremoniously died made it's existence worth it.
Monty was also a terrible writer and the show was just as bad when he was there. People just cut him slack due to him fricking dying.
Monty gets cut slack because he explicitly hired other people to do the writing because he had enough self awareness to know it wasn't his strong suit.
Monty just wanted to do Dead Fantasy with OC characters that had a template for endless customization. All the shit to fill in the gaps was by M&K who were very amateurs in terms of writing for a show like this.
