the ending is just ''well actually you killed him years ago but lol were not gonna show you or have any kind of closure just believe me bro even though ive been lying to you through this entire movie." thats fucking gay
and i swear to god if any of you try to make the argument that we as an audience are uncertain just like leonard and thats what makes it good your mother will die in her sleep tonight
>well actually you killed him years ago but lol were not gonna show you or have any kind of closure just believe me bro even though ive been lying to you through this entire movie
You unironically don't understand the movie.
It seems like a ridiculous waste of effort to be John Mementos friend and stage all this bullshit to get him to kill people instead of just doing it yourself
Did they ever explain why he went through all the effort and my smooth brain just missed it
I love memento but if you look at the whole thing you realize how fucking stupid the whole situation is
Still an interesting film though the hotel room scenes are the best parts where his paranoia starts bleeding in is well written and acted
not that anon but re-reading the plot synopsis reads pretty poorly, such as >Leonard recalls Sammy Jankis, another anterograde amnesiac, from his insurance industry days. After tests confirmed Sammy's inability to learn tasks through repetition, Leonard believed that his condition was at best psychological (and perhaps faked) and turned down his insurance claim. Sammy's distraught wife repeatedly asked Sammy to administer her insulin shots for her diabetes, hoping he would remember having recently given her a shot and avoid giving her a fatal overdose. However, Sammy administered each injection, and his wife died.
Why would you give this task to your amnesiac husband. Does the wife also have amnesia?
I liked it. It's brutal and depressing because there's no fix for him. He's seemingly permanently damaged and can't live a normal life. The only thing keeping him going day to day is having a goal. When he finds out it's all bullshit he decides to create another white rabbit for his future self to chase, because he knows there's nothing left for him anymore so why not continue the lie.
Every time I do it makes me laugh. How did my eyes get so red? What the hell is on Joey's head?
Filtered
It makes people feel smart
>a twist ending that you didn't see coming makes you feel smart
no it doesn't, dipshit
people like it because it's a good fucking movie
he doesnt even kill the bitch drug dealer gf that spat in his drink. shit ending, shit movie
Oh, it's just an incel sperg out.
its before we really understood what nolan was about. now that we see this film doesnt hit the same way any longer
sounds like you didn't understand the ending
it is literally the best ending to a film of all time. nothing comes close

Unreliable narrator movies used to be more rare, it's cool because we are used to our main characters in Hollywood films being infallible.

OP, didn't you get it?
Memento is actually the only good movie by Nolan.
The only good movie is a bad movie?
The Prestige is superior thoughever
Twist endings are genuinely for braindead retards and it's a tragedy so many movies from the late 90s to early 2000s were ruined by them

Can you explain briefly?
not that anon but re-reading the plot synopsis reads pretty poorly, such as

No she had a normal woman brain
It was her last attempt to get her husband to snap out of the psychological amnesia. Either he recovers or she dies, she's content with either
Anyway it wasn't a true story
I prefer watching that film in chronological order.
It's about the journey, not the destination, ya dingus.
I don't remember the ending
How come Pearce never got bigger?
People like it because it's impressive not from an acting or practical effects or CGI point of view, but from a screenplay point of view
I bet you cant write a backwards story that still has plot development with twists etc
