You know what, I think you're right. Wanda Vision show failed to stick the landing but I think the MCU could've stayed alive if the quality stabilized after that but with Victoria Alonso at the helm that was pretty much impossible.

It is un-fricking-fathomable how they could shred the Cap brand into oblivion instantly after Endgame.

The Russos directed 4 of the best superhero films ever made and they fricking gave Sam's first film to someone whose only credits are a utterly panned Cloverfield sequel and some woke arthouse garbage about a ex child soldier destroying his teacher's life because she busted his friend for drugs. AND it's being written by the "stop calling them terrorist" guy, likely the worst most cringy moment in MCU history.

Imagine what else they could have done...
    > Bucky as Cap
    > Bucky & Sam as dual Caps
    > Frank Simpson / Nuke
    > Adapt the story with Zemo putting Bucky on trial for his Winter Soldier crimes at the top of the statue of liberty.
    > Fighting The Man with No Face and a topical Chinese communist threat (China would not like the film anyway because of the black lead)
    > NOT have Buck/Sam act like deranged dicks to Walker.
    > NOT have Sam sympathize with genocidal antifa stand-ins just because the b***h is multiracial.

Instead we are getting Sam molded into a fricking despicable far left lunatic fighting Trump stand ins & Hulk villains (1 who has not been seen since 2008 the other recast with a tired iconic actor dead certain to sleep walk through his role) without Bruce written/directed by some of the worst people possible.

The actor playing Sam isn't a bad Sam. Sam is just a poor choice for the next Captain America. He's powerless ffs. I don't care if they did it in the comics. It doesn't work well AT ALL on screen. He was fine as Falcon.

Iron man 3 was unwatchable garbage. Captain marvel was unwatchable garbage. Black Panther was bad. Spider-Man homecoming was BAD. BUT they kept it decent through infinity war. Endgame was a spectacle but a significant downgrade to all 3 preceding avengers movies. You could say it all went wrong with captain marvel, but you could also say it about the moment in endgame where Tony killed himself (should’ve been cap) and then cap lives his selfish second chance life with his big tiddy English rose tit cow and hands over the mantle to Sam instead of bucky. Wandavision wasn’t bad but this show was absolutely terrible

It was. Shane Black has this weird obsessions with giving kids and younger actors/actresses a stupid amount of screen time and presence. And besides the kid, iron man 3 took place during Christmas time for no fricking reason. Oh, Tony Stark has severe PTSD and anxiety from the events of Avengers? Let's just play it off for laughs.

Arguably the only good scene of that entire shitty movie was when Tony infiltrated the bad guys base without a suit and using his intellect to craft up some weapons out of different tools. Also, the main Iron Man suit of the movie was a piece of garbage

          >Also, the main Iron Man suit of the movie was a piece of garbage
I know power levels are stupid, but one iron man suit in Avengers only getting banged up with in the giant propeller that keeps a 500,000ton aircraft carrier 50,000 feet in the air, while in the next movie (when Tony would presumably have time to upgrade more than just the mobility of his suits) it disintegrates into dust when it gets hit by a commercial bus going 30mph, was moronic. Shane black was the absolute worst choice to direct iron man 3, and that movie was garbage.

wasn't it rdj who wanted black to direct it because they worked together when rdj was putting his career back together?

It didn’t disintegrate, it falls apart and reassembles itself later. The point is that the modular suit tech is experimental, it can disassemble and reassemble itself when he calls it, but sometimes it disassembles itself because of a hard collision, it’s more like a bug in the suits behaviour than a physical breakdown

            Anonymous

Going to the bleeding edge suit was just symptomatic of the overall problem going on with needing to use stories and plot points from comics that had zero setup or relationship with in the movies. It's all just memba berries from things that weren't even 10 years old. The giant shoe horns of civil war and Planet Hulk are the most aggressively obvious, but it's a cancer that spread through the entire series.

That's actually a two fold issue. They also really liked IP legal weaponizing with things. Doing this removed any chance of Sony laying claim to it because that's originally Norman, a Spider-Man IP umbrella character.

Iron Man 3 has always invited some really pedantic criticism that largely boils down to "Here's a list of things that happened that I personally disapprove of in my Iron Man movie."
I'm not questioning that people dislike the movie, I just think they never figured out why they had such a strong negative reaction.

It was fine. Weighed against most of the MCU, above par.

I enjoyed it. Sam's speech at the end was a bit cringe, but not for the reasons Cinemaphile spams. It had a good hook, but it was too long and preachy, and the staging just made it awkward.

I hate fans that complain about Cap and Iron Man being written off. You think these actors want to do another 20 years of Marvel? Besides, their deaths actually gave stakes to the film.

    >Reality: Sam has given up before even trying and ditches the shield before the first episode even starts (to be put in a museum where it can never do any good ever again and/or be easily stolen in a world where terrorists have already very publicly stolen vibranium items from museums) and only takes it back right before the finale purely out of "Well gee, I guess I can't just leave it in the hands of a literal murderer." He doesn't even consider giving it to Bucky, not so that he can be Captain America, but for the sheer sentimental value of having a memento of his lifelong best friend who's now gone forever.

I hated that they made Sharon a bad guy because she apparently never got acquitted for the events of Civil War along with the members of Team Cap, which means that Steve either forgot or didn't give a shit about her, both of which are wildly out of character for him. Cap 3 civil war fell flat.
Avengers 2 was entirely forgettable to the point people might think that avengers 2 was Infinity War.
If I am being honest, most of the marvel sequels ranged from mediocre to bad, and they rely hard on momentum alone to carry them in the box office, which is funny to think about because most of the mainline introduction movies were also fairly rough, but that 'universe' idea really sold it.
