The car chase scene starts really fun but the way it was shot and edited was just a little too disorienting for me.

The car chase was completely unncessary and too long. How the story set it up was terrible, and the result was terrible (a Spanish lesson).
I think it looked pretty good. It's still not as good as the truck chase in TDK, though. It wasn't set up well, I agree, and Batman is way too indifferent about the destruction he helped cause.
It's part of the reason the movie was too long.
Out of all the things you'd cut you're going to cut the best action scene in the whole film? The reason it was so long is because they were trying to develop Batman, Catwoman and Riddler and to a lesser extent Gordon and Penguin and Falcone all in the same movie.
The best action scene was was the first two fight scenes. This dredge of a car chase scene was so unnecessary and unsatisfying. And it was all fake it's not like it was great stunt work.
Zoe was a terrible cast for Catwoman and Rob was a terrible cast for Batman.
They were alright, but I wanna see Pattinson distinguish his Wayne/Batman personalities a little more in the next one. Kravitz was better than Hathaway but the character isn't as interesting as she's been before.

They were trying to be realistic though, but also failed spectacularly at it. Moreover, I don't want see to Batman's face. The allure of Batman is the big dark scary shadow, not the man. Bale looked way better. He looked like a giant bat, not a man walking into rooms.
I'd say they weren't trying to be as realistic as the average retarded capefan thinks. There's definitely some tongue-in-cheek moments like the gliding scene for instance. I think there's a little more camp in this movie than in Nolan's and that's on purpose.

Obviously this was super retarded like most of the movie's plot. However, the relationships between characters was kino. Specifically Bruce and Alfred, Bruce and Lucius, Bruce and Gordon, and Bruce and Robin. There relationships were heartfelt and soulful the entire trilogy. They are emphasized even more in Rises, which makes that movie more soulful than most. Plus the whole actual film making thing with real stunts and fights.
