She's not wrong. You know what normal people do when they don't like something they're watching? The turn it off and go watch something they do like. You gotta be a little moronic to not ONLY keep watching but then go on the internet and talk shit about it.

You're totally right. We should only discuss things positively. Criticism has NO PLACE on a film discussion board, and these fricking chuds need to get it straight.

No one said that you moron. There is a large difference between shit posting and giving positive or negative feedback. No hate thread is giving advice to make the show or movie better.

Yeah but things used to be bad because they were just bad. Now they are bad because their creators have deliberately inserted non organic content for social engineering purposes. Very little is able to get made without it having to check criteria such as lgbt characters, trans characters, interracial relationships, main characters being multiple races, sure its believable in some settings, but making this mandatory for all new productions is resulting is some very strange media.

The activists that have made their way into media production are quite open that "representation" paves the way to "acceptance" thus conditioning the public to get used to seeing racial diversity and creating the impression that trans people are numerous etc, of course this hasn't worked and instead people are at each others throats over the "culture war" essentially you can either accept these new themes or reject them.
A few examples of wokeness where it's not need recently for me is:
          >bg3 - black woman with afro has medieval castle guard, no satire whatsoever
          >Enid Blytons fantastic five remake, made the tomboy trans. Creates scenes where she aggressively demands correct pronoun usage
          >Dr who... pick fricking anything lol

You see they have backed themselves into a corner with this insatiable wokeness and have become a parody to a lot of us.

No, she's totally wrong. Mentally healthy people are capable of coming up with a nuanced opinion on something based on what they like or dislike about it. moronic children throw a fit and scream when someone tells them popular thing has flaws because they NEED to like popular thing.

If someone is talking about something they hate and being exhausting you can just change the topic to something more positive. If it's *really* bad you could talk to them as a friend and come from a more constructive place. Going straight at someone and lecturing them about how to view the world is a very socially moronic thing to do, unless if your goal is just to get them to hate you and feel smug.

If you have to photoshop the image to look bad, it just undermines the point you're trying to make. Now I sympathize with her more, and think you're the homosexual.

One of the big separators between intelligent people and.. well, most people, like you, is whether they undertake actions that get the results they desire.

Sounds like you're talking about a thing you hate, anon.

Hate and disappointment are two different things. I want people to be better, to act better, in the sense that their behavior coincides with the goals the want to achieve. I don't care what those goals are; a rightie should be the best rightie he can be, a leftie should be the best leftie (and so on). What I see all too often though is most people aren't very intelligent, introspective, or self-aware, so they make kneejerk reactions instead of thinking through things clearly and inevitably act in ways that undermine whatever it is they hoped to achieve. It's frustrating watching potential squandered.

      Anonymous

      >intelligence is whether they undertake actions that get the results they desire.

a bold claim. i feel the ability to connect potential and a sense of reality is not intelligence, but rather somethign else, that has not been properly explored yet.
thats why rather simple people can also "make it" in the world, while the one with high potential can be crippled by a myriad of conditions.

intelligence is the raw material, but it has to go through a translation layer. For example..take someone with severe cptsd, autism, ADD, bit of bipolar and then add the additional features that comes with it: depression, self-doubt, unregulated anxiety etc..
would you say this person is stupid, because they cannot live in a system that is so over-bureaucratized or monetarized, so that they cant get proper assistance?
Is it really their lack of intelligence to not be able to undertake actions, if they cant adapt to that system?
how much can they influence that result and how would you measure it wether its their success or chance or whatnot.

        Anonymous

        >intelligence is the raw material
Then it's meaningless. There is no sense whatever in quantifying unapplied intelligence. It has no value. It is, in a word, cope. Every thread on Cinemaphile ever trying to talk about IQ is this, basically. Almost no one who posts about IQ understands what IQ actually measures and what its credible uses are- which, given that it's really not that difficult a concept to understand, is really saying something. It's like bragging about the size of your shadow. If intelligence, as a concept, is to mean anything at all, it must be measurable by its application. If the mathematical equation of a person's life is expressed as "I'm really intelligent, but I spent my whole life in a basement posting frogs and never making eye contact until the day I died", then this can be reduced to "I'm not intelligent" with no loss of information.

          >Then it's meaningless. There is no sense whatever in quantifying unapplied intelligence. It has no value.
exactly. iq a management ratio. it tells you specific key figures you can work with, but what you do with it, if you can work with it, its completely dynamic.

          >it must be measurable by its application
inbetween the inheritence of potential and the expression of such, is a bunch of factors, oftentimes, not even in your control, that determines what or how much of that potential is being expressed.
sure, believing in the human will is great, do what you can. but being human means also we are highly receptive and influenced by external factors. we are open system in constant exchange to surroundings not always in our control, for examplel our upbringing, by consumption, but political systems and the good old fate.
