        >Top Gun
is bad in particular because it takes an otherwise simple story with one plot device and stretches its length to almost two hours, dedicating almost none of it to characterization beyond basic stereotyping. Because of this lack of screenwriting, a lot of scenes end up being filler with no real purpose. The good would be most of the action sequences and despite the blank slate characters, the cast definitely has charisma enough to go around.
All in all I think Top Gun was fairly rated when it was released; mediocre. A fun movie that could have elevated itself with the slightest of effort.
        >Maverick
is bad because it's effectively the same goddamn movie with a few changes because of the period shift. There are no new plot elements added and it recycles the same stereotypes but never actually adds anything to them because nothing happens in the fricking film. The good? The sound mixing is fantastic and was really great to experience in the theater.
        >Blade Runner
is bad, I would argue, because of its unnecessary length. Regardless of whichever cut you're watching, the story of the source material didn't need two hours (let alone three) to tell. Lots of well designed filler scenes with some of the worst action sequences ever filmed. Harrison Ford's infamous acting (or lack thereof). All in all the movie should have been 45 minutes. The good, as mentioned the design work is fantastic.
        >2049
is bad because it's everything that was wrong with its predecessor, telling essentially the same story but from a slightly different point of view. It has significantly worse (almost embarrassing) design work and color grading than Blade Runner. The supporting cast and characters are forgettable and poorly acted, almost to the point of exaggeration. Deckard's involvement in the story and the ending in general was hilarious. The good, Gosling's performance is pretty good for what little he was given.

            >Top Gun
            >Maverick
            >Blade Runner

K is a better protagonist than Scott's Deckard, which isn't saying much, but still it's a positive.
Overall if I wanted the same feeling, the same drama but with a shorter runtime and better acting, I'd just watch Moon (2009) than 2049. The latter had its chance by having such a large budget. All the things it could have dedicated itself to. An original storyline, great action scenes, set design, score, etc...
Instead it did nothing. I don't even know where all the production money went, the movie quite literally looks like an independent production in a lot of areas.

Until then I was just taking this film as an ordinary sequel with some nice moments but nothing more. Starting from that solo test run the movie went full Mach 10 until the end, it was a total rollercoaster and I kept thinking it would end now but the action kept on going in a nice and surprising way. Lots of good humorous moments too.

Because Quentin Tarantino was the first "film theory" homosexual but he didn't have a youtube channel to spam his shitty takes, so he put them in his movies and normies just repeat everything he says like it's the gospel truth.

Like seriously, Maverick chases Charlie into the ladies room hoping to frick, that's how much his dick wants pussy. He eventually fricks her. But I guess giving your rival a shit-eating grin after he's been trying to take you down a peg is far more convincing indication of his sexual preference, sure.
