If not for Eminem, rap wouldn't be so popular as it is today. Prove me wrong.

      I think you're being disingenuous.

After The Eminem Show, he put out Encore when he was full blown into drug addiction and it showed.

      Relapse is well loved.
      Recovery is well loved.
MMLP2 is probably his best post-TES album.
      Revival was garbage.
      Kamikaze was good.
MTBMB was a solid project as well but felt too bloated.

Overall, he's remained consistent in his post-TES years. Nothing will likely reach that peak for him , because that was the height of his career and everything around him was a media circus. He had a lot of material to write about because his life was insane.

He's since slowed down, gotten clean and just does his own thing. He makes music for his fans, and that's cool. It's clear he's not really trying to chase down what's popular right now and is instead just focusing on wordplay, doubles-triples, and playing with different cadences. He's literally just having fun and seeing how crazy he can make his rhyme schemes. Yeah, it's cool to hate on him, but he's still one of the most talented rappers in the game to this day, and one of the most gifted to put pen to the pad. His understanding of wordplay and ability to break things down by the syllable for rhymes is second to none.

It's why so many older artists respect him for his love and knowledge of the craft, and why so many newer artists shit on him -- because they know that even 20 years later, he's still one of the biggest names in the game and if they can bait him into mentioning them, it will make them bigger than they are.

Where was I asked about it? Where, in any part of this thread, did you ask me about it? Instead it's just:

      >DURRR EMINEM BAD
      >WIGGER
      >EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG, I'M RIGHT

I'm not an avid listener of Eminem but the fact that he has achieved worldwide appeal means he's good enough at what he does.

                I did, anon. See

If you honestly believe Dr Dre actually had the idea of signing a corny white rapper to sing "Hi, my name is' during the height of gangster rap, you are actually stupid.

That was obviously Interscope telling Dre what to do and who to get behind. Anyone who believes the fake narrative that Dr Dre just randomly listened to Eminem and got impressed is actually dumb. Go listen to his Rawkus Records singles before he signed with Dre and tell me thats a phenomenal rapper.

                >They told Dre not to sign Eminem. Dre liked the SSEP and decided to chance it on Eminem despite blowback you frickhead dummy.
So you just believe that Dre went out of his pocket to finance Eminem's entire early career with no backing whatsoever? You really believe in the official narrative because they said so?
You seriously are not factoring in what the 90's was like. You forget that Dre had just left Death Row after producing Snoop and Tupac. Are you seriously believing that his next interest would be Eminem? Also, you ignore completely who ran Interscope back then and what their interests were like. They literally wanted to push a white rapper and Eminem was the first one who worked.

Also, didn't you notice how Eminem's affiliates literally dont like him? Don't you remember Snoop Dogg recently dissing him? They obviously hold a grudge and it's very obvious that they have been quiet because Eminem is just too profitable for everyone around to say anything.

                >Yeah, Nas fighting Jay Z, DMX drug troubles, Lil Wayne getting locked up, and all of them working with each other and respecting each other's achievements is pure stuff, no genuine appreciation for the numerous songs they've made. Also you have to consider the hundreds upon hundreds of white rappers who were as big as Eminem. Such as...
None which concern randomly dissing a cash cow such as Eminem. Industry has always been the same.
                >And they still choose to give Eminem kind words.
Because they are eager to get some money from some random opportunities that this can provide them. Older legends in rap are actually poor and they are doing anything it takes to get some money.

Where did I suggest Dre solely produced him? Dre was part of a business and Eminem being signed was met with skepticism. He'd already been rejected by other rap labels and Fat Joe. My point is Eminem wasn't hailed as a fricking trend, you twit, and Dre had to argue on his behalf. How is this hard to comprehend? Do you not understand how production works? Artists have to PROVE themselves. Jay Z endorsed a little white British girl rapper who was trying to act like Eminem. She received spotlight, support and marketing to push her first album. It didn't catch, and she disappeared. Eminem got the same and took off like a fricking rocket. The only difference between every other artist's first major label push and Eminem is Eminem having innate mass appeal and becoming instantaneously beloved over night. I don't need to reject the rest of your moronic schizo babble because it has nothing to do with Eminem being a unique outlier who captured a wide audience. That's the fricking point. Dre saw potential. His business partners saw a weird gangly white guy. He argued on Eminem's behalf, Eminem got his album, and SSLP became an overnight success. Everything but the success part is part and parcel to how artists come and go within music. You fricking dummy.

Every single band, artist or country bumpkin with a guitar has gone through the same process as Eminem. Eminem just happened to have appeal. If you want an actual industry plant, look at somebody like Taylor Swift, whose parents were already wealthy and shipped her off to LA with a chunk of change to meet producers. Eminem went to rap battles where he interacted with his peers and where talent scouts hung around. Is Justin Bieber a plant because P Diddy found him singing on YouTube? Or is he just a lucky fricking kid? You're the kind of fat dumb dipshit who thinks nothing can be achieved and insults anybody else's successes because of it.

How did Eminem go from good rapper to dogshit rapper In less than a decade after making it big? After Eminem show there is a huge dip and constant decline into dogshit. He doesn't even rhyme the same anymore.

Also why does he have so many fans that just eat up all the shit he releases?

It's why so many older artists respect him for his love and knowledge of the craft, and why so many newer artists shit on him -- because they know that even 20 years later, he's still one of the biggest names in the game and if they can bait him into mentioning them, it will make them bigger than they are.

implying Black folk ever did any of the shit they claim as their culture, even in the early 1900s they said they learnt to play music from the devil in exchange for their souls, in other words israelites who were 76% of the slave owners taught them all and are today all their ghostwriters, and in exchange they will reclaim their souls in the end and by that they mean black people as a whole will be fricked in the ass probably harder than whites are right now

Rap is shit. The rhymes are kiddy grade level. None of them even approach the lyricism or thematic scope of Bob Dylan. I like Rakim and De La Soul but it doesnt surprise me how shallow rap became to this point because the rhyming schemes are so simple and chained to the beat that it was only a matter of time before you got to mumble rap and Nikki Minaj

Rap battles still have some good lyricism.

Its all low hanging fruit in terms of what they string together tho. I dont think any rap artists has heard of a second draft in their life.

Muh rhymes. This is why whites should stay of rap ruin the whole thing. it goes. Beats, voice, flow, muh rhymes. Black folk are not listening for deep shit they want to dance and do drugs and drink lean. Its why kendrick, jcole are trash artist who wouldn't even be top 1000 in the 90s.

White people can rap but they take it too seriously like everything they get involved in. It's why people like Jack Harlow, he's not some goofy ted talk rapper. He just raps about cars and hoes, which is what people want.

      Anonymous

Black people can take rap very seriously too. That's why so many rappers get shot over it I guess.

Black rappers who take rap seriously like Joyner Lucas get the same hate that Eminem does. You're thinking of actual hood rappers who would be killing each other even if they didn't rap.
