one of the creators was a Japanese so it's okay or something like that

my biggest complaint is that there's no Japanese dog breeds in the movie IIRC
also sushi in this movie looked weird

I thought the dog breeds were all fake.

    >Exposes villain's obvious corruption because the villain lets her do it, then she gets immediately deported
    >The actual hero of the story is the Japanese kid who actually proves she's right and convinces the crowd with a haiku
Are you a fricking moron or are you just Black personing?

      >convinces the crowd with a haiku
      lmao

it's like china makes a movie where a heroic black american boi convinces the crowd with freestyle rap and saves the world

        >Movie opens with a legend of a boy who kills a tyrant, saves the dogs and composes a haiku.
        >Movie climax is a boy overthrowing a tyrant, saving the dogs and composing a haiku.
You're being a real homosexual if you're whining about this
        >it's like china makes a movie
Chinese make dogshit movies, the market's oversaturated with them. A black guy might liven it up

i'm not op and not whining at all. i think that's just funny. i don't think the guys behind this movie were fully aware what they were doing with japanese cultural aspects but that's what makes it funny to me at least.

anyway, to be honest, i think it's rather a good thing that westoids or any group of people in the world don't have to be very ''sensitive'' when they make movies/shows/games like this

It's definitely influenced by cool Japan to an extent. It's not even my favorite movie of his, it's only ok to me. My favorite's Royal Tenenbaum

Wes Anderson makes better stop motion films than Aardman. Come at me.

Saw this in the theater. Mostly just remember the "I can hear you" scene fondly. I did remember it being rather white-saviory but otherwise it was mostly forgettable.

    >Japanese hate dogs
I haven't seen this movie, but why did the director choose to set this movie in the only country in East Asia where dogs live peacefully without fear of being eaten by the locals?

Because it's a dystopian future and the fear and hatred is manufactured propaganda made by a cat-lover elite you fricking moron

I still don't see the point in setting it in Japan.

IIRC wes anderson had an idea of a story like this AND he also wanted to make something with japanese influences mainly aesthetically
and then those two things got mixed into one movie

This movie is stupid propaganda by dog people!
What actually exists in Japan is Isle of cats, not Isle of dogs!
