Well lesbians do suffer the most domestic abuse of any pairing.

I have a lesbian friend who isn’t touchy about the subject and even went so far to say it might be mental health issues
She gleefully admitted she was bipolar and many of her girls had some problems too but looking at her causal demeanor to such a morbid topic which is what we usually discussed I thought it was just the LGBT community starting after it’s members left the refuge of the satanists, when it was normal for gay activity again and their principles from the satanists who were the only community willing to house them during the 1950s basically spawned a group with a depraved moral standards, didn’t mix well to the newcomers that joined the government tolerated LGBT you see now and my friend said they’re were a lot of satanist or witch enjoyers in the school even Sammy Davis allegedly was influenced by Anton s Lavey. It’s a lot of wild shit and I never voiced this conversation but the history and what’s going on now match a little

The source that usually gets posted says that ~43% of lesbians have experienced domestic violence vs ~38% of straight women. What morons fail to understand is that the study then explains that something like a third of those lesbians have experienced domestic violence from men.

              For women:

              - Lesbian – 43.8%
              - Bisexual – 61.1%
              - Heterosexual – 35.0%

Most bisexual and heterosexual women (89.5% and 98.7%, respectively) reported having only male perpetrators of intimate partner violence.Two-thirds of lesbian women (67.4%) reported having only female perpetrators of intimate partner violence.

Yes. The study goes on to say that 78.9% of lesbians have experienced domestic violence from only one perpetrator . Assuming this applies to the 32.6% of lesbians who have experienced domestic violence from men, and also assuming that that 100% of the other instances are from women (which is certainly not true), then:

                0.326 * 0.438 * 0.789 = 11.27
                43.8 - 11.27 = 32.53

i.e 32.5% of lesbians have experienced domestic violence from other women.

6.42% of bisexuals have experienced domestic violence from women

0.987 * 0.35 = 34.5% of straight women have experienced domestic violence from ONLY men vs 0.5% which have experienced domestic violence from women

Not sure if you're intentionally blinding yourself or if your brain's self-defense mechanism is kicking in.
The numbers you're adding together have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

The first set of intimate partner violence numbers say nothing about the amount of relationships nor what the gender of the person they were in a relationship with was.
The second set of numbers, whether only male/female intimate partner violence was experienced also proves nothing.
Nothing on its own, nothing added together with the previous numbers, because it still doesn't answer any of the questions posed two sentences ago.

Funnily enough, this is exactly how climate has become such an issue "suddenly", or why it was suddenly advantageous to vaccinate people against the common flu en masse.
Just add up unrelated numbers together and eventually you'll come to an answer which is favorable to your beliefs.

Not true. I'm so tired of seeing this lie from people who don't even read the sources they're supposedly referring to.

I don't understand why this is used as a talking point when it's clearly fabricated. When's the last time you heard of a lesbian couple actually killing one another? That stats already useless because 90% of domestic abuse situations go unreported. BECAUSE it's domestic abuse and the victim is most likely not going to say anything. There is no way two girls getting into it is more common than a man beating the frick out of his wife.

        [...]
The quoted statistic is flawed because the study simply asked what sexuality they identify as currently, and whether they had suffered domestic abuse ever in their life. It didn't ask the gender of the abuser.
Many of the "lesbians" who claimed to be abused, previously had male partners and then swore off men after being abused.

A lifetime of socialization that violence perpetrated by women is a mild inconvenience at worst and having a massive amount of domestic violence narratives focusing on a man beating a woman, even if it's more accurate, it probably instils some terrible messages onto women about violence.

statistics are different than raw numbers.

yeah raw numbers obviously have hetero be higher, but the argument was per capita lesbians do it more.

(also, with transexual MtF lesbians, that could also inflate the number too)

kinda like the whole idea with the black violent crime stats. yeah, there is fewer crimes committed by black people, but the fraction of society that black people represent shows that they deal more crime than white people do at the same numbers. But the real question isn't if Black people do those crimes. they do. the real question is why, and this determines whether you're a racist or someone trying to figure things out.

They were moronic to think so, but the movie definitely had a lot of very questionable design choices.

I mean, a movie in the mid 2010's where the leader of the bad guys is a bearded frick and said bad guys are immigrants that pretend to be innocent? Where the bad guys have "Coexist" stickers and organizations called "Hamnesty International"? And the only one to notice they're evil at first is the aggressive and xenophobic character?

The references were jokes, and it's not like the plot of an outsider pretending to be a poor refugee is anything new, but the timing of the movie with all those elements was pretty fricking terrible. I'm pretty sure at the time of its release the Syrian Crisis was in its most brutal, too.

I doubt it but I guess the idea that they're a couple of degenerate lesbians, the more "political" strips hardly show their views in a positive light. Like Blue Hair literally burning books or starting an unsafe abortion clinic that treats it like a Subway Shop or the comic obviously making fun of the Roe Decision reaction by actually being about Cum Town ending.

The blue one was playing a switch at the beach
The yellow one was drinking sun block
While at the beach you should be swimming around or relaxing on the sand instead of playing a video game
The sun shines on the switch blocking her view of the game she's playing
She gets angry that essentially being outside means the sun will affect you and takes it out on yellow.
Yellows neck stretches like a cartoon character and her hair becomes a umbrella. Something you normally take to the beach.

Remember the days before backlit screens and the sun actually HELPED you play games?
How comes screens never have a mode like that anymore?

      Anonymous

They're called transflective screens and they're usually used on ruggadized tablet PCs.

They are not commonly used because they suck for color reproduction.

If you miss them you can buy pic related or a high-end Panasonic Toughbook or one of its knockoffs/competitors. I hope you like paying $6000 for $1000 worth of hardware.

The joke is that the second panel implies that the only option (for abortion) is to use a coat hanger, then the third panel is a twist that the "only option" is revealed to becoming a "catholic trad wife", using the coathanger to hang a coat.
It's a bit of a stretch, but there is a joke in there.

What did he mean by this? The injunction against lasagna is itself incontinent thus already guilty of what John is accusing Garfield of? Basing a entire franchise on a gag about food is so vulgar that it designates the whole comic as excremental? Garfield eating is made obscene by the human gaze and thereby becomes as excretion, Garfield effectively excreting an "object small a" in the process of entering the Symbolic order?

      Anonymous

the setup makes you expect she's going to eat the lasagna like she was told not to
the joke is that your expectations are subverted when she does the opposite and shits on it
