>Dexter seasons 3-4 >PPG seasons 5-6 >Johnny Bravo season 4 >Ed Edd n Eddy season 5 (school) >Billy and Mandy seasons 5-6
All shit. Seasonal rot hit these shows big time.
Carl and the others were established at that point and bounced off Johnny and the shenanigans alot, so losing them made it feel more lifeless.
Yeah Carl and Pops were essentially half the supporting cast at that point, the others being Suzy and Johnny's mom. They were very useful for plots where Johnny needed help getting in to trouble and didn't need a voice of reason. Cutting them out was weird.
The formula didn't work without the rest of the crew, Jeff Bennett had gotten used to playing the character wacky, and Mae Whitman was no longer an actual child
i honestly can’t see it any other way than mandark’s parents being dumb enough to think that he was a girl
also doesn’t anyone think that this episode kinda ruined the whole rivalry that he had with dexter? his whole thing was the fact that he sorta came out of nowhere and was one upping him before getting introduced to deedee. making it so that his love of science came from hanging out with dexter in the past feels weird
i guess you mean some people could see it as him being a girl in the past, and some people could see it as him having hippie parents who dress all their kids like theyre meant to be frolicking in a flower garden? whats the 3rd one?
also yeah as a kid i assumed the former, but i gotta say if he WAS supposed to be trains (which i dont think is the case, i do think its the latter, but nontheless...) this would be a pretty unintrusive way of sneaking it in
...
idk why im analyzing this, since its likely op is just looking to bait, but oh well
As a child back then, when I watched the episodes, I too related to Mandark, as in I too had moronic parents that wanted me to be something that I wasn't interested in at all, that being a productive member of society.
>a lame retcon of a beloved villian
>some writter's barelly disguised fetish
>the point Dexter's Laboratory jumped the shark
these?
there's no bigger case of a drop in quality that sudden in cartoons history. Savino should be jailed for what he did with this show

Why was Johnny Bravo so weird?
>creator leaves after season 1
>returns in season 4
>and yet season 4 is the bad one

Butch and Seth weren’t involved and made their own respective shows at that time.

EEnE fell, but nowhere near as hard as the other cartoons listed.

There is only one correct interpretation.
It's funny some crazy hippies named their son a girl's name for the most inane reasons.
Does that make Mandark Western Bridget?
This was such a cool addition to an iconic villain.
When I was a kid I thought his parents hated him or something lmao
I interpreted it as his parents were just stupid hippies who didn't really think things out in dressing their son in that manner.
Either way, the poor parenting eventually takes a mental toll, and thus mandark becomes an antagonist.
