This show is absolute garbage, why the frick is it so highly rated. I hate the flashback plot device. It's lazy and stops you caring about the characters in the past once you know what happens to them in the future. It also requires a huge amount of suspension of disbelief, especially in the contemporary timeline.
Did anyone here find this enjoyable?
It started off with promise, but since the end of this last season, it's apparent it's going nowhere. Literally nothing has happened since the beginning of the show. People talk shit on lost, this show has no fricking clue where it's headed, there is zero story at all.
>since the end of last season
Wow. You really watched this shit till the end? I dropped it after two episodes of s2. The end of s1 was already unbearable. Typical goyslop, all filler and fake drama. TV is so fricking dead
I watched the first episode and dropped it, shit was boring AND insufferable.
Showtime shows have always been garbage, at most they were watchable. They were always the shows too shitty to make it on HBO. Now that HBO is garbage it doesn't mean Showtime has improved.
cute girls = still watching
>Did anyone here find this enjoyable?
Yes I love it.
>It's lazy and stops you caring about the characters in the past once you know what happens to them in the future
This doesn't make any sense to me. We don't know all about what happens to them in the future. The present-day plot line is ongoing. It shows us that even after the end of their time in the wilderness, there are still mysteries surrounding that time, even to the girls. We also still do not know how everything unfolds for them in the past. They have over a year left as of the end of season 2.
>It also requires a huge amount of suspension of disbelief
I don't think the suspension of disbelief it demands is that huge. Some, yes, but it's grounded in reality enough that it's not tremendous.
Are you mad that Tai and Van are lesbians, or something?
So, for me, one thing that I don't know how they'll deal with is Natalie dying at the end of S2. She's supposed to be the leader in the flashbacks, I think it changes how much you root for the character. I've got a feeling they're going to introduce more characters, and it's going to end up like Lost, though with so much on these days, one bad season can be enough for a cancellation. Leaking out the original story through flashbacks is a tired gimmick, especially when the current day plot is so lame.
With Nat, idk if you know this, but she was killed off because Juliette Lewis asked to be written off the show. She has struggled with substance abuse and I suspect an eating disorder, and playing adult Natalie as an addict was taking a toll on her. So presumably, they may not be able to feature Nat in any flashbacks which feature them as adults. So yes, that could pose a challenge. I'd say her death was already foreshadowed, though, when she drew the queen. And I don't see any reason her death as an adult should effect the stakes of their time in the wilderness.
>Leaking out the original story through flashbacks is a tired gimmick
I understand your view; I simply don't share the sentiment. They still have a ton of loose ends to tie up in both the past and present.
>I meant them dying in the present/future .
I don't understand what you mean.
>Getting away with multiple murders, outsmarting cops, and putting enough phenobarbital in one sip of hot chocolate to kill a fully grown man.
They didn't outsmart the cops. They were intensely onto them. They only got away with it through more murder, coercion, and falsifying evidence. They're not off the hook. They're on borrowed time.
Poisoning a man in that way is easy for me to overlook in a fantasy drama like that, but that is just me.
>Alsk how the frick can Tai just disappear after being elected for office?
That bothered me, too. They need to make up for that in S3 by showing her life as a politician and public figure.
>I also think the young/old Natalie casting doesn't match up at all, the rest are fine.
This stood out to me, too, but I can buy it because of how haggard they made her look as an adult because of addition. But I would say the casting is more than just fine; it's really remarkable how good it is.
I'm guessing adult Marie will come into it next season, either that or she dies.
>, they may not be able to feature Nat in any flashbacks which feature them as adults. So yes, that could pose a challenge. I'd say her death was already foreshadowed, though, when she drew the queen
To be honest, having Travis only in flashbacks seems to work ok. I'd guess originally maybe Van was supposed to die as there's the terminal cancer plot, and she hasn't really been a big part of the main cast.
The fact that Van has only recently been introduced and that her death has been broadcast makes me think she's going to have a role in something that will be highly impactful. I am really curious about what is going to happen with Lottie and her community. They aren't going to just lock Lottie away with nothing to do, and I doubt her cult is just going to disband. I think one or more of the girls will take over it as the leader.
I really want to know more about dark Tai and whatever connection she has to whatever supernatural elements are in the wilderness. I also think that whatever happens in the immediate aftermath of their rescue will be elucidating in some way.
I meant them dying in the present/future .

Regarding how on point the casting was, here's an image featuring the adult cast and when they were young, alongside the young versions of the characters.
I enjoyed it. Only thing I'd complain about so far is some of the shitty CGI with the bear and the wolves but the characters and the survival stuff is fun
i stan misty
For me its Callie
Exquisite taste. She's not conventionally pretty, but there's something about those eyes and that slightly toothy smile.

This is a trend that's getting more and more popular in both tv series and movies, and yes, it is annoying.
It's just common courtesy, mate. If someone's not finished watching and happens to come upon a spoiler, it can ruin the show a bit. Not that there's too much to spoil here though.
They should have never did what they did with the ugly junky. Also I want to frick the young junky actress
My main complaint about the show is that I hate how they punctuate every important scene with some famous song
Another pet peeve is when they do flashbacks that are so obvious like when old Shauna finds the confetti in the closet and it flashes back when Adam was hiding there and shows the guy stealing the money who tripped in the confetti. Just taking the audience as braindead idiots.
DUDE!
SWEET! WHAT DOES MINE SAY?
