funny because i gave it an 8 for killing the troony
same reason i love the new halloween trilogy. it's filled with homosexuals and blacks and they all die.
Also it was a shit generic film with "Evil dead" loosely pasted on.
The entire time I didn't notice she was supposed to be a troony. I've gotten so transphobic that now even when someone says their "preferred pronouns" my brain totally censors it and I only hear what my eyes see, and my eyes saw that she was an obvious girl, maybe a dykey tomboyish girl, but a girl.
7/10 is right, better without the troon. Fun film, mom is fricking hot.
>The Black person
there has never been a black in an evil dead movie
rise had some hispanics but otherwise held up a continuing tradition of being whiter than bread

It was pretty awful. Possession stories are so fricking played out. This did absolutely nothing novel with the concept and was a complete toothless retread of the remake.
Evil Dead 2013 did basically everything better. Better gore, effects, cinematography, story, themes, characters, etc. Rise feels like a carbon copy and the only thing I like about it is the mom's acting and the woodchipper at the end. It's really quite unremarkable and doesn't even use its setting (which was the marketing gimmick) to its full potential. 85% of the movie takes place in their apartment. I was expecting something like REC and was disappointed.
Honestly, I'm not even a big fan of Evil Dead 2013. Evil Dead without Bruce and goofy slapstick isn't much of Evil Dead at all.
It has some goofy moments (so did 2013) but nothing compared to Ash v. Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness. You need a good physical actor to do slapstick and it's something Bruce excels at.
Really liked Rise, but mostly because the ending was able to salvage a lot of the shittier pacing of the beginning/middle. This movie needed to be 10x more unhinged instead of generically tense
Looks like a generic possession story with the Evil Dead label slapped onto it
This. It reminded me of those Hellraiser flicks that were clearly some separate movie and they threw Pinhead in for 2 minutes.
So....it looks like an evil dead movie?
Even if you don't like them there's nothing "generic" about the old Evil Dead movies
The first one feels pretty generic. 2 and Army of Darkness are more unique.
>The first one feels pretty generic
It feels generic because so films after copied it.
Yeah since tree rape was so blase by that point
Nah it’s a solid movie and it’s based because the mom and her annoying kids all basically die. Only the wine aunt and one kid survives.
funny because i gave it an 8 for killing the troony
same reason i love the new halloween trilogy. it's filled with homosexuals and blacks and they all die.
Wait the older daughter was a troon?
Frick, i might be gay then
you're gay regardless of whether or not you want to frick the numale
Where’s the fricking AI art thread for Arnold as Duke Nukem?
Good fricking question!
looks like shit
The Black person offends me more than the troon.

That's a white/pacific islander mix with zoomer hair.
What about the alleged doctor in the 2013 adaptation?
frick are you on about? the reboot stars 6 fricking people and none of them are black
She was a cute halfie. That's allowed.
This. I also fapped to the fact that the demons made her piss herself
The troony was just another cast member though. It's not like the movie hamfisted anything.
I was oblivious to it until Cinemaphile started making fricking noise about it.
Real evil dead
>1
>2
>2013
>2023
fake evil dead for redd*t and homosexuals
>army of darkness
>tv show

i don't understand why everyone likes this film it was honestly one of the worst horror flicks i've ever seen
I couldn't stand any of the characters, I detest when they put kids and expect me to feel sorry for them. I was happy when they started dying off.
Nevermind that it's another example of a shitty family drama movie mixed with horror, I hate this fricking trend with all my heart.

This must be a picture of her in makeup or is she this ugly in real life?

are you implying rise wasn't goofy?

Yeah I really enjoyed it. Really creepy, great gore, kino production design. Way better than the shitty 2013 remake
>great gore
What gore?
Besides the scalping at the beginning, it's really tame.
Lots of blood spraying everywhere I suppose.
He's obviously contrarian posting to keep the thread going.
Meds. NOW
Wanna know why it sucks? The deadites aren't funny. They're just edgy.

first time director, probably didn't want to blow his load. shame.
