Depending on how short of the person; it is comically obese. My friend is 5'5, 285lbs and can barely walk for more than 5 minutes.

That's sad. Two of my best friends are overweight, and I'm trying to get them to start hitting the treadmill, but they're very resistant to change cuz they're already married
Like, bros, your life gets SO much better under 200 pounds

People over about 50 lbs overweight should never exercise. People over about 100 lbs should absolutely never exercise. People over 150 lbs overweight it's a literal critical medical emergency that they absolutely never exercise except for light to moderate walking. 150 lbs overweight if a person just eats like a normal human being for once in their lives the weight will itterally come flying off. I just Los 20 lbs in 5 weeks. 30 lbs before calibration like last meals etc. Absolutely nothing above moderate walking. It could kill me.

45 minutes on the treadmill at a steep incline won't kill you. I went from 240 to 160. You'll be okay
I want them to enjoy things like running around the park with theirs kids or feeling good when you take your shirt off, but they use the same tired excuses of
          >I work too much
          >I have a lot on my plate

Well to each their own hut it's too fast either way. Again the weight will come flying off with simple calorie restriction down to around 50 lbs and under. For example 30 lbs overweight someone should always exercise to lose weight. For numerous. More than that though you're increasing the chance of loose skin. Also I think it's important to develop good eating habits. And that alone will make the weight fly off. I list 110 lbs in 11 months from 270 to 160 with literally zero exercise. And then I out it all back on so fast I may literally die. But we'll see. But also they're already saying they're not gonna do it. I think knowing the signs of heart failure is the most important thing. Like leg swelling when they take off their shoes and socks. That's the last warning sign. Any progression after that and heart failure literally becomes your life. Or what's left of it. And that includes things like not being able to put on your pants. Everyone needs to be familiar with the stages of heart failure and terrified of it. Because it's terrifying. I wish the biggest problem was death. There's a lot of torture before that.

I lost 80 pounds in 3 months with proper diet and hitting the treadmill. It's very easy and anyone can do it. No complications or any loose skin from my weight loss and have kept it off for the last 2 years. I do still have stretchmarks, but it doesn't bug me.
I just want the people I care about to be healthy.

Wow that sounds way too fast and I bet you missed some calibration too. But either way yeah 2 years is very awesome congratulations. I didn't keep it off at all. I still had about 20 more lbs to go and then I just started putting it back on. And then 5 weeks ago my heart literally broke. So hopefully weight loss will fix it. I can't imagine it won't.

I just think its all abiut incentive. Whichbis the problem with your friends. If you really wanna try to get them to do it try fear. If they take off their shoes and socks and a little above their ankles it pinches like real bad like a quarter inch like their socks were insanely tight, then that's right before stage 3 heart failure. And then it's like getting pushed off a cliff. It's literally exactly like breaking a bone. It takes 1 seconds to happen and maybe a year to climb out of. Doctors say is not reversible and over about the age of 80 it's not reversible. Stage 4 is heart transplant.

I don't have any health complications, and I'm not sure what you mean by calibration.

Like your last meals and water weight and stuff. The first approximate week of weigh-ins is all about getting to your actual weight. Otherwise I just went from 305 to 275 in 5 weeks with only light walking if that. I have stage 3 heart failure and I move like it. Either way it's all just a matter of about 10 lbs of inaccuracy from the grand total. So it's only a minor thing either way but still. Our weight can do very funky stuff for about the first week or two.

            >45 minutes on the treadmill at a steep incline
How often do you recommend that? Every day?

Because of breathing. Tell him thats because of at least stage 2 heart failure. It means that his heart can't pump blood fast/efficiently enough and so it builds up around his body. In this instance his lower abdomen around the bottom of his lungs. That's what's causing it. And it gets so much worse. Stage 3 heart failure is insane. There should be way more oublic education abiut it believe it or not. People don't know the half of it. I think a lot of it is because the people who are affected by it just die and their story dies with them.

Hopefully. Death is the least of my worries. For the first 3 days I couldn't put on my pants. Luckily it was my days off. My legs filled up with fluid so badly I couldn't move my knees. 5 weeks and 30 lbs later I still can't get the fluid out.

Not memeing, do keto and devote 3-4 hours of your day to walking before you eat your first meal, and drink a lot of water to endure the hunger pangs. You can lose 30 lbs in 2 months.

Also you will feel better when you get exercise and learn to start pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, maybe even develop a competition against your weakness brain that has crippling control over you.

I've taken to broccoli big time. Water too don't get me wrong. And I'm a huge fan of diet soda too sorry guys. But broccoli is my big go to this time around. And I actually just discovered baking it. So I don't even put anything on it anymore. I do a whole cookie sheet with foil of plain raw broccoli at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.

i have a friend who is really obese. i don't really care. but all the complaining like "why are you so slim" and "why can't i lose weight" is getting in my nerves and i don't have the heart to be honest to her. maybe don't stuff your face with fast food every day? maybe don't drive your car to work and instead walk there (it's a 15 minute walk)? maybe don't sleep 10-12 hours every day? why can't fat people just admit that they are lazy and it's their fault that they are fat? no i didn't get lucky and somehow magically stay lean, i watch what i eat and lead an active lifestyle, maybe you should do the same

Fast food is really the only one and they can still make it work. Sleep is actually really good. Seriously because it means they're not eating. Exercise doesn't really do shit. It's all about calorie restriction. Up until the person is only abiut 30 lbs overweight then they have to lose weight.

      Fast food options
      1. whole grain
      2. very low fat
      3. very low sugar

So they probably won't be able to get anything. If they live near a Wendy's that's really good. Baked potatoes are shockingly good for you. Room temperature cold. Zero butter and zero sour cream. Knock yourself out on chives. Seriously not even one single packet of butter or sour cream. Or then just don't get a potato at all. I guess they could do salt. I can't because I'm in stage 3 heart failure.

'Eat like a King in the morning, A prince at noon, and eat as a pauper in the evening'

Find the flaw in this statement. Still there is some truth to it. Why would you load up on carbs to go to bed an hour after. That is what will make you get fat.

For the working man, food is fuel, and you need to burn through it.

Also: most of your carb burning goes to your brain. You're brain hoggs 80% of your food.

Only flaw I see in this regimen is I cant stomach a morsel beyond a coffee and cig in the morning, dont feel like eating lunch by afternoon due to all the cigs and caffeine and barely feel like eating in the evening but I know I should or the wife and kid might get sad so I do and feel alright after.

I'm a working man. Have to get up at four. So my breakfast is a coffee and a cigaret. But there is some logic to not eat a King's meal before you go to bed.

Also: I've found I can put away a bunch of work when I've eaten a steak the night before. Steaks are good fuel. Pasta and fish are shit when you've got to do manual labor.

For some reason, cyclists eat pasta. They swear by it. For me, it comes third in line:
            potatoes>rice>pasta

To each their own but I very strongly disagree. Apparently we've evolved to go many hours without eating when we wake up so we have time to find food. Whatever works for someone but the point is to just eat as little as possible.l for 6-12 months solid. And I and many others find that's easiest to do in the morning.

I don't know about loading up on carbs before bed but again whatever works for someone. I think it works to not have whole grains before bed if that's gonna help you crash to have like white rice etc. As long as you don't get hungry again. That's the main point of whole grain is it regulates blood sugar and prevents hunger longer. That's the whole cliche abiut Chinese food that most people don't realize. It's a lot of carbs with zero whole grains. It goes right through you and you get hungry again. Sometimes it can make you tired though which would be good before bed.

I'm conditioned to eat three times a day. This is what they teach you at school. In reality, I like to eat little bits all through the day. But I have a 15 minute break, so I have to chomp down my food so I will have fuel.
