I mean it's pretty standard stuff that works everytime. The villain killing the hero's master, the villain being a mirror of the hero "gone wrong". The hero having a training arc and finally surpassing his predecessors and is able to compete toe to toe with the top dogs. AKA power up but tame (Bankai, Gear Second).
The villain raiding the protagonists home is pretty cool, it's usually the other way around. Also nukes imaginery and a somewhat good written villain.
Fight goes to shit when Hinata appears but well.
I think the conflict ending with a talk no jutsu is justified, the problem is that from that point on Naruto does that to every villain, which makes the impact of convincing Nagato disappear.
