The only wokeness in the show is the excessive amount of women in conspicuous roles in male-dominated fields, including one in a field with literally zero women. But the women act like 80s women if you can imagine that so it's about as pozzed as those were.

This was incredibly compellingly written, but what really impressed me was that I couldn't believe how not-woke this was. No Black person with a white wife. No transsexual normalization. No wise black woman guiding the white guy to do the right thing. Literally not a single homosexual in the entire show.

Must be because Chris Pratt was exec. producer. No wonder reddit is in a hate-craze over this: we're not supposed to have good stories that aren't pozzed in their neg-hole anymore.

Why are Amazon prime shills so fricking obvious. Every reacher thread. Every thread for this show so far. They said reacher wasnt woke. Yet it turned out to be woke. And when confronted they just say "well that doesnt really count". Kill all amazon prime shills.

      >and the whole show was too desaturated, you can make a dark moody show without it being greyscale
That pissed me off several times. I was watching it mid-day with the sun coming in from the side and that's almost never noticeable in my living room, but some of these scenes were so desaturated it was getting hard to see what was going on. Mid-day scenes with the sun out and everyone standing in the open and it's so dark it looks like they were going for that low-budget effect where they film night stuff during the day and just desaturate it to pass it off as night. Not saying that's what their intent was, just that that's how it looked, it was ridiculous.

Reacher was extremely pozzed and not the least bit ashamed about it, complete with tedious lampshaded scenes of Reacher getting thrown the idiot ball just so that the woman could come and save his life from a situation where he should be in no danger and then lecture him about how misogynistic it was to try to protect her, or how all the white people are evil and all the black people are wise old advisors, hammering you over the head with it with cartoony scenes like the black and white cops, lots of other shit I don't remember the specifics too clearly right now because I haven't seen it since it came out, but it's, again, EXTREMELY pozzed.

This was not. It was only very, very mildly pozzed.

Book gay, Raife Hastings is Reese's bro from college. Raife and his family are from South Africa. Specifically Rhodesia. None of that Zimbabwe shit. They meet playing Rugby at Montana State or some shit. Both love hunting, America, the outdoors, and military shit as opposed to all the liberal gays running around. Naturally they bro out hunting and drinking. They graduate and both go into the SEAL teams.

do any civilians, police, non-bad military, etc. get caught in the crossfire in the book? it got to be a little corny. thought they were going to explore the whole "going too far" angle - but he never really did.

also, after he fell off the mountain and bounced off the rock (wtf) - the show wasn't as good.

      Anonymous

Nothing explicit jumps to mind. You have shit in later books where people are killed when bad dudes are targeting Reese, but nothing where he's wantonly smoking civilians in the crossfire. He's not blowing shit up like a madman in every book either. He likes precision weapons. Custom AR15s, bolt action rifles. Shit like that.

Is that realistic? I don't know. I'd like to think if someone had the level of training and experience that Reese is supposed to, then people are only dying when you want them to. But again, after this its more targeted shit. He's not waging war in civilian filled streets.
