Yeah. suure. he suddenly realized it using his telepathic powers. Same way Gus suddenly realised Walt had booby trapped his car

        So fricking true
It was a literal rain man moment. He threw the broken pieces into the bin then subconsciously realized a piece was missing, which alerted him moments after he closed the bin.
There were zero (0) clues that could have alerted Walt that something was amiss, it can only be explained by innate savant powers that curiously never reappear.
The Gus thing is even worse. He walked all the way to the car and realized it was rigged after looking at it, there were zero clues. It's explained away as a Machiavellian deduction, he supposedly just added up all the pieces which somehow equaled to the car being strapped with an IED.

Popcorn schlock is what it was. I was only mildly entertained, but it served its purpose. Unlike the highly intellectual kinos I routinely enjoy, this one was a refreshing break for the mind. Just some pleasant background noise as I enjoyed my popcorn and further contemplated the many complex questions that my previous kinos compelled me to ponder. Hope it makes sense now, friend.

Doesn't matter it was lame. "MUH NAZIS ARE THE ULTIMATE VILLAINS" is reddit tier pure and simple. Also the fact that they were irredeemable bad guys. Gus was humanized to a certain extent, but muh nazis were villains and only villains. It's reddit writing.

Yeah, MUH NAZIS, spergerino. Otherwise, their prison connections make zero sense unless they are affiliated with some prison gang. Would you rather it was another fricking Mexican gang and do the entire cartel jig again? For the third time? You Black folk have zero idea what you are talking about most of the time.
You're acting as if Jack's entire motivation for doing all that was some ideological strawman and that Walter only went after them because he didn't want to be chud.

The final season should have been Walt vs. Hank. The whole show was building up to Walt vs. Hank. And then they just kill Hank off and the final bad guys are some random Nazi biker gang. From what I understand too, it was supposed to be Walt vs. Hank but the actor for Hank wanted out because he had a movie deal that promised him a bigger paycheck.

Thinking that a gangster is educated enough to use long term thinking. Criminals are impulsive.

He didn’t know for sure that Walt was gonna release him. Why wouldn’t he pick up an improvised weapon given the chance?

And he’s an angry piece of shit gangbanger. The number one thing they don’t want is to be ‘disrespected.’ He’s smart enough to pretend otherwise, but he’s still seething and desperate for revenge.

        Anonymous

Because picking it up and getting caught guarantees you're not getting released. He already knows Walter doesn't have the balls to go through with it, and he could easily overpower him without a weapon. It's all risk no reward.

          Anonymous

This is the correct take. He had Walt talked into releasing him. He could easily kill Walt without a weapon. If Walt doesn't release him, the weapon doesn't matter.

The whole scene is stupid beyond belief.

          >and getting caught
But he doesn’t know that he will get caught. And he doesn’t know that Walt will release him. You’re getting caught in hindsight bias.
Yeah, he could win in a fight if Walt releases him, but that may not happen. Having the plate and being able to stab him and quickly end the fight might be the difference between survival and getting melted in a bathtub later.
If you think it’s an unreasonable course of action for, not just any person but a violent criminal to pick up a weapon while being held against their will, you must be crazy.
          >oh shit, Kathy Bates dropped a machine gun on the ground
          >better leave it where it is. I know she hobbled me yesterday, but I’m still pretty sure I can convince her to let me go

He's chained to a fricking pole, having the weapon is only useful on the condition he is released. A real life violent criminal probably wouldn't be able to think this through, but Crazy 8 is written as intelligent. He's smart enough to be able to identify weakness in Walt and manipulate him.

              Anonymous

He's chained to a pole, but Walt almost certainly has the key in his pocket. Stab him to death and you can get the key. Grab or punch at him and he might get away.
There’s also the possibility that Jesse returns and he has to deal with him.
He’s also intelligent enough to know that if Walt thinks this through, he’ll know there’s no way in Hell Crazy 8 will let him live.
If you don’t know what might happen and you’re in a life or death situation, you pick up a weapon when you can.

They're fricking criminals. Unless it's a white collar criminal, doing some tax evasion/money laundering shit, criminals are factually the stupidest people.
Stop applying so much rational thought to a criminals actions. Think more caveman.
          >me trapped
          >me need weapon
          >me kill my way out
Don't think like a highly intelligent person going "I must consider my actions carefully, as the wrong move will get me killed. Do I take this sharp object and kill Walter or do I just cut my loses and leave?"
Get the frick out of here, with the idea that criminals are intelligent.

They operate on an instinctual level and would probably be better suited for this situation than a braniac like waltuh. It absolutely makes sense to have that in your back pocket, so to speak. The idea of him noticing a piece missing is highly unlikely compared to the possibility of it being useful to have.

That's pretty much the only thing that bothers me about it. I've broken ceramic plates before, and it doesnt fricking look like that. Not only is that not how the fractures would start and spread, But the edges look fricking weird, it should have crisp, sharp edges. The edges in the show look like they have been meticulously worked. Like they either took 4 or 5 different plates, and mapped them into the specific shapes they wanted by chipping them down, or they chipped the sharp edges off for saftey reasons on set. Either way, it scratches my autism in an uncomfortable way

        >I've broken ceramic plates before, and it doesnt fricking look like that.
Oh, I'd be fine with it not following the regular logic of reality, for how plates break. I'm specifically talking about when you watch the scene. No part of the plate breaks into a piece that looks like Crazy 8's stabbing piece.
I'm willing to suspend my disbelief about how ceramic breaks, but I'm not willing to pretend that the plate broke into those pieces. The scene shows that it didn't break that way.
They should have pre-cracked plates, so they'd only break along those pre-made lines.

    >Cinemaphile suddenly hates Breaking Bad
Nothing is sacred anymore. Next year you will start hating on the Sopranos too.

autists will just REEEEE at anything
It was good, it was a reversal of the "protag gets tied up and uses some random shard to cuts himself loose" or something.

This is fascinating. Do other countries do this or just Mexico? I didn't know you could do shot for shot remakes of things like this.

My introduction of this show was my friend showing me this scene and saying "this is exactly what I would do".
Walt's entire "genius" are all common sense or dumb luck shit to make the audience feel like they're smart, it's intellectual junk food.
It's like a bunch of guys going "man, I wish I knew the color of the sky, but there's no way to check" and you go "look up" and then the smart character goes "look up" and then everyone praises him for being a genius which is calling you a genius.

What a bunch of homosexuals itt. I remember watching The Pilot like it was yesterday, feeling hype as frick from the first scene. How can you not enjoy this show, it's beyond me. I guess you have to be poisoned with all the shit that's on these last few years. Breaking Bad had it all, man. The goofyness was good, which you're complaing for, the music was amazing. Walt and Jesse's buddy adventure was great. How can you not enjoy it?

Honestly this entire show is pretty much fine except for the plane arc, spending an entire season making the viewer wondering why walt is gonna destroy a plane and then he just butterfly effects it because he killed some junkie
