Eat Drink, Man Woman and Tampopo are absolutely awesome.
I'd recommend the two Taxing Woman movies by Itami.
Comedies about a female tax agent who takes on the Yakuza.
Irritating, terrible movie. Liked it when i was young but now i see through it as complete nonsense with no script. You'll probably like Fallen Angels, it's the same shit - dutch angles everywhere, constant slow motion, no structure, annoying music. And Takeshi Keneshiro.
He's a million times better than won kar wai that's for sure.
Sell me on this movie
I've had it downloaded for like 4 years but haven't bothered to watch it
>Liked it when i was young but now i see through it as complete nonsense with no script.
This is like those artist' before and after where the drawings get shittier with time instead of better. Who fricking cares about plot you plot point mental midget? >but I need a comfortable, easy to digest structure so I dont get bored! without a moronic pseudointellectual message there cant be substance! this is all style and no substance!
Seriously watch more fricking movies. I bet you believe Lost in translation is just random nonsense because it doesnt adhere to a basic structure
Wong Kar-wai spent his career making the exact same movie several different times until he made it so good it became considered the best film of the century (In the Mood for Love)
it's a run of the mill quirky romcom about two autistic people falling in love. and that's half the movie. the other half has nothing to do with the latter half. so people essentially like half a typical quirky 90's romcom.
The first story is excellent, the second goes on for too long and has a lame ending. I haven't seen any of his other films as a result, really put me off.
This may be a bit of a reach but I have fever dream tier memories watching an Asian movie with my mom years ago
It was about an old couple just living their lives
I think the old lady was cheating on her husband with someone else? Maybe she tried to kill him, or he tried to kill her? Does ANYONE know what I'm talking about? She doesn't remember but I know it happened
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very, very
Mad world, mad world
Yi-Yi
Eat Drink Man Woman
Ikiru
Tampopo

You'll either love it or you'll hate it.

It's like he's a teenager playing with his dads camera with that shit. So bad.

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring
AND THE SKY IS GREY

>it's not autism because he's handsome
I hate double standards.

Wong Kar Wei has the best endings IMO
In The Mood For Love is by far his best
Tumblr shit
So Long my Son is pure kino
Good Wong Kar-wai:
In the Mood For Love
Chungking Express
Fallen Angels
Bad Wong Kar-wai:
Everything else
He's a great director, but he's also kind of a hack fraud
The only bad movie is the Blueberry one. Everything else is great.
What's the movie where some autist stalks some normies and gets locked in an arcade?
What's the one where the dude's apartment is flooding and he just takes a nap?
I really liked both of these films, they might even be the same one.
First one is Rebels of the Neon God - Taiwan kino I think
Both the same film, Rebels of the Neon God
Rebels of the Neon God
Boiling Point
Oh also Wild Goose Lake for a move recent Asian noir kino
Days of Being Wild

She may have called her husband "Nobu" I really can't remember more than this
It’s weird that 80s is considered the height of Hong Kong cinema
But I like the 90s films better,
Fallen Angels>Chunking Express>Happy Together
In the Mood for Love and 2046 were good too but can’t remember how I would tank them
why asian's make good romantic movies
What is the source of this quote? I don't agree with it at all.
I fricking hate the cranberries , all their songs fricking suck. Other than that good movie

ching chong ping pong
Is this any good or is it shit?

Fallen angels is his only good movie and probably my favourite movie of all time
