Plot holes as well because time travel to the past is an impossible premise

        >impossible
No it isn't. Only the troika of {backwards time travel / relativity / causality} it impossible.

          >No it isn't
Yes, it is. Prove me wrong if you can

What do you mean prove you wrong? Just allow for travel faster than c and backwards time travel is clearly possible via two jumps. Draw your Minkowski diagram. This does of course allow you to break causality.
            >But FTL is impossible!
Because we assume causality and relativity are true, yes.

so what you're saying every lotr movie has plotholes because it's fantasy?

No because Lord Of The Rings is consistent with itself. Time travel is a completely incoherent concept.

There is a plot hole in every movie in which an actor plays someone other than himself. In Top Gun, for example, why does no one confuse Maverick with Tom Cruise?

That's the point of film in its purest form; optical stimulation & dopamine sensations. It is classified as a VISUAL medium, after all. Anyone who goes into a movie expecting a """story""" is missing the point of why motion pictures exist. They were created for the purpose of appealing to one's emotions, not logic. If you want to contextualize aspects of so-called "plot" into think pieces, read a damn book.

        Anonymous

Except you're wrong. Visual stimulus is an aesthetical choice. If we were to continue with such thinking, any story would only enhance a visual stimulus, therefore any story not enhancing the visuals is actually hurting the aesthetical value

Whatever happened to Time Turner after this one? Strange how such a plot macguffin just conveniently goes missing afterwards when it could've been used to prevent the events of the future chapters. Hell, Voldy could've pursued it instead of the Elder Wand & won, but then again, Rowling's a hack.

It's quite weird. I mean, they could've used the time turner to stop Voldemort parents from having sex but apparently that's impossible because it just is???

The fact that we never encountered a time traveller is a very clear indication that time travel to the past is impossible, or at least that humans will never master it.

No, really. It's one of the many things forbidden under the CCP. Time travel implies a theoretical plotline involving a prevention of Mao Zedong taking control of the Chinese government & altering the future of the PROC, which is a big no-no under their regime. No different from google and youtube also being illegal their due to Western corruption/influence.

Its because time travel is inherently a paradoxical hypothesis.
    The way to solve:
    >first occurance of time travel happened by etropic random chance
    >each divergence is a new timeline
    >repeat infinitely until new etropic random event occurs
