To the people at amazon who make this show...

Butcher and Homelander are the only two characters I give a frick about. Every other character is good only if they are in the presence of either one of these two. Please make sure that in season 4 Butcher or Homelander are on screen at all times. Thank you.

P.S. show some breasts too. Maeve, Starlight or even Ashely. Is it really that much of a stretch after all the softcore porn you showed in S3E1? Nice job with Soldier Boy btw, Jensen Ackles was a good choice.

      Agreed. Plus Soldier Boy.

Reminds me of Steve on Stranger Things. All the other characters are disposable

Jensen Ackles might be the best actor in the show. Definitely a good choice.

Definitely top 3 with Karl Urban and Anthony Starr.

Karl and Anthony are the top 2 without question. But the only acting Jensen has shown so far was in his speech to Crimson whatsherface. And it was bad. The other characters aren't as interesting but their actors have done better with their material than Jensen has with his. At least so far. In the very few things he's done outside of Supernatural he's always kinda sucked. We'll see how he does in the final episodes.

Sure. Besides Supernatural he did voice Batman in the most recent animated movie I believe. Soldier Boy has the potential to really spice things up though. A wild card for the wild cards.

Absolutely false. Not only did he kill that scene with Crimson, he also had a presence that makes him the focal point of every scene he is in. The only mediocre acting he has had was when his chest explodes but admittedly that's an awkward thing to act out

You're just a Jensen fan, I get it. Supernatural was fun and Jensen as Dean is iconic. But as an actor he's easily outclassed by the main group. That acting was bad.

I get it you are a The Boys fan, but as actors most of the cast does a shit job outside of Anthony Starr and Karl Urban and Urban's character is written in a way he can just look pensive and slur all of his lines and it would come across authentic. Ackles definitely performs at a higher level than most everyone. Your assessment of acting is awful

                >Your assessment of acting is awful
It's pretty spot on. Definitely a Jensen fanboy given your seething response. He's currently outclassed but has higher billing because of Supernatural. It was like watching Sam's actor all over again with the over emphasis on facial tics and lip quivering. Get your panties out of a bunch, homosexual, I already said he might get better.

It definitely is telling that you can in no way convey how anyone outperformed him. Ackles conveyed more emotion in his one major scene than most of the cast did in all of theirs.
Jack, Erin, and Tomar just look confused in all of their impact scenes.
Karen is blank half the time.
                Chace overacts every scene.
Laz actually does a half decent job, showing anger lined with being afraid of losing the things he cares about. He is less good in scenes remembering his parents.
Margaret does wonderfully, maybe better than Ackles, balancing fear, frustration, and hopelessness.

                >It definitely is telling
Your post is telling. And the main cast has three seasons' worth of content to use. I explicitly mentioned issue with Jensen's first bit before saying he may do better with more material, you seething fangirl dipshit.

And yet my assessment took the entirety of all of those actors' work on the show into account. Ackles scene with Crimson outperformed every performance besides Starr, Urban, and maybe Shaw. Honestly I think Moriarty may have had a scene where she did a better job as well but I can’t recall the specifics though Laz generally does a better job.
You are just blind because you like The Boys so much and cannot evaluate new characters objectively.

And whenever they aren't on screen, the other cast members should be asking "Where's Butcher?" or "Where's Homelander?"

What was this episode setting up again? Felt like much of it was rehashing old ground and rushing things.

What I got from it that was interesting:
      >Butcher and Maeve
      >Showdown between Soldier Boy and Homelander
      >Hugie or however the frick you write his name is growing out of being Mr "I'm SORRY" into a decent character, potentially goes villainous himself
      >Ashley being condescending to The Deep and A Trash is fun as always.

The primary things, as I saw them, was escalating the inevitable showdown between Homie and Soldier, with H seeing him on the News and S seeing him on the side of a bus ("what the frick?") and Hughie's growing addiction to V. That speech about "doing this to save you from Homelander" was the rambling lunacy of an addict justifying his high. I wouldn't even be shocked if the show tried to make Hughie one of the big bads by the end of it. He clearly loves the power and wants to take it further.

I fricking hate Hughie and his aura of weakness. Even with super steroids he just comes off as an insecure b***h who was only ever nice out of necessity to cope with the world, not because he is actually a good person.

          >only ever nice out of necessity to cope with the world, not because he is actually a good person.
That's Hughie and a lot of people in general. It's why MM is so freaked out by their compound use; all it does is allow your true self to come out. And most of our "true" selves are vicious egomaniacs. Hughie's getting his first taste of it.

The value of the original story premise rested heavily on the fact that Butch and his team functioned as modestly dressed intelligence agents and their skills possessed the same modesty, countering strongly with the luxury and sophistication of the superheroes.

They were flurorescents who were drugged as a reactive medium in order to function on the same order of magnitude as the threat they had to contend with.

I hope Ennis and the writing room know what they are doing.

No way Homie makes Season 4, but Butcher will be main villain.
