I'm a relatively good looking straight white male except in the last few years I went from a muscular 85kg to a 130kg hambeast. I'm 5'11. I'm losing around 1kg every ten days at the minute and so I will lose all this fat, but one graceful lesson it's taught me is that there is no excuse to be fat at all. Unless you're depressed because your children die in a car wreck or something.
I deserve to be bullied at my weight. It's only right. Just as I will bully others when I lose this fat. Every single day feels disgusting as a fat c**t. To be fully disgusted by obese landwhales I had to become like them, and it was truly eye opening.

But gaining weight as an underweight person is hard because there's just no room in the stomach. "Just eat more", they say, but the stomach is full. You have to constantly eat until you're sick.

The component of male lived experience that is wholly unaccessible to women, more than any other, is the colossal and abyssal apathy of the universe towards you. Women cannot relate to this, except perhaps women of exceptional ugliness, childless crones, and FtM transexuals.

The apathy of the universe is bottomless, and to a man, uniquely to a man, he begins to feel this apathy even from a very young age, he becomes the object of a radical indifference.

I enjoy the option to just not engage and blend in, here and there. As an average or less man you really do have the ability to just stand almost anywhere and camouflage yourself in the apathy of the universe. People really won’t see you, or they just assume you’re the man who stands there doing nothing all day and that’s normal, like you would think about a bird or a raccoon

Not that anon, but you're an insufferable normie if you cannot understand what he wrote. As far as I'm concerned, if you've never felt the indifference of the universe, then I can never trust you with any position of responsibility. For it is only the people who fully comprehend the cold indifference of the universe who can be trusted with any measure of power, as they will not be pushed to scramble for more of it in pursuit of extrinsic praise.

A man who has felt the indifference of the universe and overcame it is the only one who can be trusted with power, because their source of motivation is necessarily intrinsic.

Can you define exactly what you mean with "Cold indifference of the universe", explain why experiencing this is a male thing, and why you need to "overcome it" to achieve intrinsic motivation?
Are you just doing a less intelligent and more misogynistic version of existentialism here?

                >male thing
Because women are inherently valued in the human species. You are moronic or immature if you cannot see this.

                >why this leads to intrinsic motivation
Because someone who has been supported by society does not need to develop intrinsic motivation. This isn't rocket surgery you smoothbrain. People who are primarily social and have been supported by others will continue to expect that as a source of their motivation. Those same people will falter the moment they have no one who can praise them.

This is also why so many of these morons (again, mostly female) start to falter and develop so-called "imposter syndrome" when they get to positions of leadership. It's them not knowing how to fricking motivate themselves outside of praise from others.

                Anonymous

Males are also inherently valued, just in different ways.

                >Because someone who has been supported by society does not need to develop intrinsic motivation
Uhh yeah they do, have you ever been to, say, a university? Lots of normal people there, supported by society, with lots of different sources of motivation for something quite difficult (inevitably some will be social/"extrinsic" and some will be personal/"intrinsic", no one is "pure").
I think you're being confused by social roles, and confusing "motivation" with "self-esteem" (judging by your nonsensical mention of impostor syndrome).

You're an unironic midwit, holy shit. I default to calling everyone moronic, but I guess I need to actually dumb my posts down a bit.

The self-esteem movement is garbage, all of it. I take it you must be in your mid 30s if you think the idea has any merit to it. Modern psychology has moved away from it as being a dangerous mistake, someone anyone with a lick of common sense could have told you 20 years ago.

                https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/psychiatric-disorder/201504/the-horrors-self-esteem

The reason so many women, and yes it is women who principally develop "impostor syndrome", is because they were reared from birth to be achievers. This was done for a variety of reasons, most of which stem from feminism and women empowerment. The problem is, girls and boys are motivated differently. In school, girls generally respond more to praise and boys generally respond more positively to competition. By changing the education system as we have, we've made it more girl-friendly than boy friendly, resulting in a crop of leaders who have been raised in the girl-friendly manner of positive reinforcement and praise than the boy-friendly manner of competition and dominance.

The latter method teaches would-be leaders that they aren't shit compared the world and the universe. When you get your face pushed down into the mud, you realize how insignificant you are. This never happens in a more female-oriented education system. No one gets their shit kicked in, so when they reach positions of leadership, their very fragile egos get shattered and they think they aren't worthy of the position they've attained, regardless of their own ability. Compare this to someone who fought to get this position and faced off a lifetime of competition. They will rest easy knowing they deserve the top spot.

                Senior software engineer.

                >cooperation and competitiveness are inherently opposed to each other
They are on opposite poles of social interaction, yes. In a state of nature, cooperation happens in the in-group and competition happens with the out-group. I understand modern globohomosexual society has placed the individual at the center of everything, ergo it has attempted to blend competition with cooperation, but it doesn't work. Literally any management 101 class will tell you this.

The team is the in-group. The success and cooperation of the in-group is essential to its long-term success. Competition must not happen within the group, but with other groups. You must see your team as your tribe, so to speak.

This is also why it's generally a good idea to either isolate high performing antisocial morons or cut them from your team, if they are dragging morale down. High performers need to be alone or surrounded by other high performers (the Space-X model)

                >reformulated

Why? Was there a part of it that you felt was an inaccurate characterization of you, or that you didn't write that?

                >cooperation happens in the in-group and competition happens with the out-group
How can you argue that males are wired for dominance or whatever, and then argue that "in the state of nature" groups are inherently cooperative (feminine, if we connect it to your original argument)? While it might be useful to differentiate between cooperation and competition in a theoretical sense, in practice the links between them are likely more ambiguous, especially if we're talking about high-performing individuals.
But even if we're talking about like, a football team, or children (speaking of a state of nature), it's pretty obvious that you can work towards a common goal and still have some healthy competition.

I was joking, I think you’re a little quick to assume you’re the smartest one here

Because I'm being realistic. Also, the education system was explicitly tooled for women. Everything I wrote is backed by research.

                >mysoggyknees
Frick off you leftist moron. One of the smartest people I know is my sister who now works as an EE professor. Do you know what she did as a child?

                >mock trial
                >model un
                >music competitions
                >chemistry internships

Et cetera. Her ability to hold up as a leader of her lab was forged in the competitions she did as a child. Do you know how many other girls were like her? Practically none.

Competition breeds leaders and nothing else. That is its role in modern society. That propensity to lead obviously must be tempered with social skills obtained from various soft skill activities, for the same reason a completely hardened blade is brittle while a hard edge with a soft spine is strong.

This is all far from the original topic. The point is, unless you're some ordinary guy or an exceptionally ugly woman, you will, generally speaking, not know how indifferent the world actually is. Compare this to the life of an attractive woman, who gets hundreds of DMs from random strangers every day.

You have to be on the bottom of society at some point to understand intrinsic worth.

I'm pointing out the flaws in your reasoning, you're not internally coherent apart from "beautiful women more likely to be dumb" (which I will grant you is pretty common, but that's not the argument here).
You are not being convincing by ignoring your problems and talking about your sister, ugly/beautiful women or blades or spines or whatever.

It really just drives the point home that you don't know what you're talking about.

I don't know how I can make the thesis any clearer to you moron.
                >How can you argue that males are wired for dominance or whatever, and then argue that "in the state of nature" groups are inherently cooperative

What part of in-group and out-group do you not understand? If you want to dig deep into human nature, men will generally fall into a hierarchy when among other men and will compete when it comes to women. At large, one group will compete with other groups for survival. The sliding relationship between cooperation and competition depends upon context. This, however, does not translate well to the individual, no matter how much neoliberal society wants to make it so.

Competition is also a bad word to use here since there are at least two different types of competition, fair competition and backstabbing competition. Men compete in fair competition to sort themselves into a hierarchy. That is the kind of competition you want, generally speaking as a society. The other type of competition, which is the backstabbing kind, you generally want to discourage. This is the kind of competition that modern society encourages more than the former, and as far as I can see, it is not limited to one gender.

I've enjoyed reading your argument with the other guy. It's ironic he said autismo when he keeps viewing working together and competition as black and white as possible. It's almost as if the enemy of my enemy is my friend would set him off because it doesn't match how he views things

My honest opinion is that I think that workplaces (at least in my experience) are cooperative on the surface while concealing underlying intra-group competitive behaviours, but maybe that's just my competitiveness/insecurity talking.

Thanks, it feels infuriating because it seems so goddamned obvious but people are treating it like some holy aphorism delivered from up on high.

Healthy competition is natural to well-socialized men. It was crucial for our ancestors to know which men could lead the hunt and which ones were meant to follow. It is not as much to women, who evolved with different considerations in mind. Granted, individual variation is paramount and I welcome any woman who will step up to the challenge of competition. But it is no surprise that women, at large, prefer social games where there are no winners or losers over competitive games where there is an obvious winner and a bunch of losers.

That said, it has its limits and competition should not be a continuous mode of being. Though I am loathe to use the word, the most "toxic" people I've worked with treat everything in life as a competition. They do not see their teams as a tribe and thus will step on them any chance they get.

This is a failure of societal organization, as far as I'm concerned. The people in charge of our country know that competition = innovation, but treat it as some kind of manna from heaven, like the cargo cults worshiping the airplanes. In reality, all it does it sort out and instill leadership tendencies in the best among us. Once it has done its job, the chosen leader MUST learn cooperation and soft skills if they wish to succeed.

                Anonymous

Agreed, but I would also like to expand on the competition parts. As we all know, man-on-man dicksucking was crucial to our ancestors. Back in the hunter-gatherer times, our dicks evolved with bright-red bulbous heads because we would be trained to find them exceedingly suckable, as the strawberries and other treats of the time were also red and round. The best gatherers would also be the best dicksuckers, creating a powerful axiom that lasts to this day. Alan Turing was a big dicksucking gay, and he created the first computer. If we are to survive the next century, we need to return to our roots and dramatically increase our male on male fellatio action.

I think you're being confused by social roles, and confusing "motivation" with "self-esteem" (judging by your nonsensical mention of impostor syndrome).

                )
Note that you'd be less stupid if you stopped expressing yourself in general terms, as though you're really talking about Society in general, and just admitted that this is how you view people:
"I (a man) do not feel like I am supported by society, and I think that women are. I feel like I have to motivate myself to do things, because people do not encourage me and I see women being encouraged."
"I feel slighted/inferior to them, but I also view this self-encouragement as a source of strength, so I ("people like me") should be in charge."

        Anonymous

Not that anon, but you're an insufferable normie if you cannot understand what he wrote. As far as I'm concerned, if you've never felt the indifference of the universe, then I can never trust you with any position of responsibility. For it is only the people who fully comprehend the cold indifference of the universe who can be trusted with any measure of power, as they will not be pushed to scramble for more of it in pursuit of extrinsic praise.

A man who has felt the indifference of the universe and overcame it is the only one who can be trusted with power, because their source of motivation is necessarily intrinsic.

I think one part of it all that you miss is that men mostly are the ones doing this to themselves and the others. You don't have to fear that some woman will go full moron and stab you in the kidney dozen of times like you can with a man. Women don't start wars and don't send males to die pointlessly for someone else's selfish goals.

I know X-Men was the first in its series and the first attempt at a more "realistic" superhero take rather than stylized or cartoony, and also that it got its budget slashed before production with pretty rushed filming. But god damn does X2 blow it out of the water hilariously in terms of action and spectacle. Wolverine in the mansion, Nightcrawler in the White House, Magneto's escape, Wolverine fighting Deathstrike, etc versus the slow plodding obvious wirework from the first film.
