Car Robots/RID is pretty much a Saturday morning cartoon, so of course he doesn't have as much depth as BW Megatron or Prime Megatron. Gigatron is still pretty awesome, though, as it usually took 4 or more Autobots to even challenge him. And after he upgraded to Devil Gigatron he was even more unstoppable, able to solo the titan Brave Maximus (albeit by combining with his ship, but still). And in his final battle with God Fire Convoy, he even muses philosophy about the nature of transformers. Hell, he canonically does a face turn and joins with Fire Convoy as part of the Dimensional Patrol after the series ends.
>A post-apocalyptic space western set millennia after the end of the Great War and the near-extinction of the Cybertronian race, Last Bot Standing focuses on an aged Rodimus hiding out on the primitive world of Donnokt. But when a group of remnant Cybertronians turn their sights upon Donnokt, the last Autobot must step up to save the universe one final time.
And it's "Last Bot Standing".
I don't want to be responsible for bringing it to your attention, but let's call it terrible voice actors they pulled off the street to avoid having to pay real ones, and worse writing. Beast Megatron sounds more like Scorponok than the glorious ham we know.
Yeah, he just feel in line to serve megatron. I mean I get that in the end you needed him too, but a battle or even just the OG megatron threating to dismatle him after a coop fails would have been better then a ass kisser he became.
Marvel G1 is good. Marvel G2 is a wild kinetic mess but it's fun.
Dreamwave War Within 1 and 2.
Dreamwave Armada, especially the Worlds Collide arc. Energon is decent too but cut off due to Pat Lee fricking over Dreamwave.
IDW Beast Wars.
IDW Last Stand of the Wreckers.
People sucked off IDW More than Meets the Eye/Lost Light for years, but I didn't care for it.
You read the behind the scenes of Transformers vs G.I. Joe and it's Barber talking with Scioli and Barber is so completely out of his depth, shit's hilarious.

There is an article Scioli wrote once, his thoughts while watching Bayformers 4. Scioli really is fricking crazy in the best possible way. He has that 'hippie that sees depth in everythin' thing going on.
Tarn is pretty popular, don't know about the rest of the team.
Tarn got to be in Cyberverse and is getting a new figure in next years Legacy line. Tarn will be a recurring character in the future. the rest is tough to say. i think of the bunch Vos is the most likely since he can basically just be a targetmaster in universe. Plus his whole speaking cybertronian thing makes him stand out from the bunch too.
This is a new universe, so it's just an alternate version of Moon than any other previous Moon. He's just an regular (but oddly-looking) Transformer here.
Behind the scenes, Moon's in the comic because they originally wanted to have WADDLEPOP THE BOTBOT in it, but Hasbro said "no", so they got the best next thing in the out of place & cutesy category.
Which means is was originally going to be Waddlepop that gets killed by being impaled through his eye and then act as an anchor for the pipe to be used to kill another 'bot.
TRANSFORMERS KISS PLAYERS FANSUB PROJECT NOW AVAILABLE
Hi Karyuudo fans,
We've got a new translation project which may bring shock or freak the hell out of the Transformers fandom... yes, it's the release of Transformers: Kiss Players.
For those who aren't aware, Transformers: Kiss Players is a Japanese Transformers franchise which ran from 2006 to 2007, and conceived by artist and writer Yuki Ohshima. The story takes place in the Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity, specifically in the five-year interval between The Transformers: The Movie and Fight! Super Robot Lifeforms Transformers 2010.
The series contains mature subject matter and is aimed towards a much older Japanese male audience. For this reason, this series is NOT recommended for children. Additionally, we have placed an 18+ Flag on the story portions of the Kiss Players YouTube videos. The opening, messages and interviews with Lyrian, Yui Kano, and Satomi Akesaka are available for everyone to view.
If you're unsure whether you want to dive into this series, we highly recommend Chris McFeely's Basics on Kiss Players which will explain things in detail.
In terms of this release, our team has spent an incredible amount of time translating, authoring videos and creating a presentation for fans to (hopefully) enjoy.
Firstly we would like to thank @Toolala who "encouraged" our team to even consider doing this project in the first place. If there's ever someone who you want to blame for this release even being considered in the first place, it's him. Toolala also provided us with the instructions from his open set of toys for scans which were used in this project.
Next, a huge thank you goes out to @PoweredConvoy for sacrificing his 15 Go! Go! Book, and creating clean high quality scans for us to use, as well as photographs of the unopened toy boxes he owns.
Also, Gyumaoh who acquired the Audio Drama rips for us in a lossless format so we could work with the highest quality possible.
And finally, our translators Ume Murazaki (Audio drama translations) and Ki-chan (15 Go! Go! translations) for their time and effort doing this project. The material is definitely NOT something most female translators would even consider tackling in the first place. As Ume Murazaki mentioned to me after the translation was done, "Kiss players is weird for sure, but it was funny in some parts and also made me think about Japanese society in general... mainly what a lot of men think about women... having to be sort of an airhead, or cute, or dumb to be desired. Let's just say it was an interesting experience. I'm just so glad I live where I do now, where you can live however you want."
As a team, we also echo her statement. While we do appreciate Kiss Players for having some interesting ideas which help connect the dots to the overall Japanese Generation 1 story, we do hope that Takara-Tomy will refrain from going this route again in the future. That being said, we do hope that if you do choose to download and watch this series that you will appreciate the hard work that went into it over these past 2 years. This translation will hopefully finally set the record straight on what material is contained in Kiss Players.

it is pretty notable for being the first thing to establish the super large JG1 continuity that's still currently going on it also made it canon that Hot Rod fricked the lesbian out of a Chinese chick which is funny
>Once you get over the initial shock factor it doesn't have alot going for it.
Didn't the artist even say that he made the girls young so that people would be shocked? I guess even he knew the story was shit.

The frick I thought transformer ecelebs were all SJW mals feminist weirdos why would they be OK with this? This guy in particular tried to cancel Konaka from Digimon Tamers and had the gall to say Trabsmutate was problematic in his videos. I swear every fricker has pronouns in their bio now and transgender fans got mad at that model kit girl for being too sexy. Wind whatever I dont fricking know I hope the Legion tongue rapes them all. Bunch of fricking closet pedos.
Yeah you really don't have to be a SJW to object to the weird perverted bullshit, especially the pedo shit that is kiss players. As far as I'm concerned coomer weirdos need to stay the hell away from my franchise, I don't want to be associated with people who are only into TF because of weird fetishes.
too bad, Age of Extinction is literally a feature length adaptation of Kiss Players.
Of course, most objectionable bits got removed but the skeleton is there.
Energon is better than the Machima series and the Netflix series. It's stupid, Kicker and Ironhide are the worst, but it is decent background noise and Transformers actually transform. Plus Misha. It is still a crap show, though.
Gathering/Ascending felt like it should have been much longer since it pretty much tried to cram everyone from several years into a story. The recent one is generally good and fleshes out the personality of a few characters better than the original show did (esp. Scorponok), but also feels like it got rushed near the end. Overall might be worse, but enjoyable. Have not read 3H or FunPub ones.
I read the first issue of the new run and liked it, decided to let a backlog build before I resumed, and then found it was swiftly cancelled as expected. Put a damper on my interest. I should get back to it.
Gathering/Ascending is Furman smashing action figures together, it's dumb fun with good art.
The recent one was bad. It wastes way too much time just remaking the first episode. It wastes time in general, characters are overly wordy and just take up too much panel space with exposition. The rushed conclusion only aggravates it. The writer meanders for a good 12 or so issues then panics when he has to have something significant actually happen to lead to a grand finale.
>Gathering/Ascending is Furman smashing action figures together, it's dumb fun with good art.
That's the problem I have with a lot of the recent TF media. It DOESN'T feel like someone bashing their toys together. They're not fun, but trying to be high art or some shit... about robot toys.
I think there needs to be a balance, one of the coolest things about G1 was the ensemble cast, but it also meant poor character development. Beast Wars unfortunately could only focus on a handful of characters, but it worked because that allowed those characters to grow more
>Beast Wars unfortunately could only focus on a handful of characters, but it worked because that allowed those characters to grow more
Only some of the time. BW may have had better character development than G1 but it still had its fair share of underdeveloped characters.
That's because Elita-1 was rarely ever used period. And when she was, it was typically in a diminished role, like being reduced to Blackarachnia's former identity in Animated.
Her recent prominence is a very new thing. For whatever reason, even when writers were trying to come up with more female characters, few ever thought to revisit the one that was meant to be a female Optimus Prime.
Her role in other media is always odd, shes became Blackarachnia in Animated, she became a evil dictator in IDW. Its funny that WFC trilogy portrays her in her classic role.
>Its funny that WFC trilogy portrays her in her classic role.
And then kills her.
I can't even joke here because that whole plot point was beyond moronic and just makes the whole show an exercise in frustration.
Yeah but it wasn't just her, the show fricking kills the entirety of the planet. And I'm not even sure what they even intended to do with that. Just edge? Oh yeah, it is so fricking mature, you killed all narrative purpose you dumbfricks.
It was intended to lead to Legacy where you have lots of people from different universes being summoned to replace the dead, but that didn't get picked up.

Gee I wonder why…
No, seriously though, the project is a third party co-production, all quite cheap budget wise and based on a popular property. You seriously had to suck for Netflix to turn down any further seasons past the contractual first three.
>In the transformers universe
That's the problem, there is no one TF universe. It's a multiverse. A character can be a jobber in one series and a badass in another.
There is no IDW2 Beast Wars. IDW2 is the name for IDW's second main G1 run.
IDW has had two BW runs: the 2006 one and the 2021 one.
The 2021 has some neat ideas but it's a little lackluster, especially with the early ending.

Damn, was hoping there would be a leak for the premise or something. Would be cool if the kids could send power ups to transformers like digimon.I'd buy a transformers digipet/vital bracelet.

Sorry anon, but the Unicron Trilogy is pretty universally seen as sub-par, at best. Sure, a person here and there tries to say it's great. But in general, it doesn't get anywhere near peoples' top TF series lists, and there is a reason for that. As I said, it sounded like you would enjoy it, so I mentioned it.

Never said the UnicronTrilogy was great I just said i enjoyed the minicons and they were far from being the problem with that trilogy.

I didn't say you did, I'm just saying/justifying why I said it was awful. I also did not say the concept of minions was awful, just that the series they appeared in was aweful. You are the one who seemed to have been offended.

Your statement was that minicons were implemented in a few shows and it was awful. You outright posted that they were awful. Play your word games.

/shrug, if you say so bud. Next time maybe I wont mention it.
I'm so sick of this 3D western style where they shove super realistic facial features into a cartoonish model. The only one who doesn't look fricked up is Bumblebee. Also being on P+ means they'll get little to no budget and the writing/animation will reflect that.
I want to see a transformers series where Megatron starts the series with the Rust Plauge and he is trying desperatly to train up Starscream to take over, but screamer being screamer keeps messing up.
Here is your Battletrap for the evening. The leak comes from a Cinemaphile anon that went to a test screening, he said that David Kaye is back as BW Megatron but only appears a couple minutes at the end.
Why are you double spacing everything like that? You know it makes you look like a moron, right? I'm not even complaining about """""reddit spacing"""", this is something way worse.
>Inferno >Transmetal II Megatron > Orion Pax
Fuuuuck, those are so bad ass figures. But where is my Transmetal Megatron??
Are you joking? That Inferno looks terrible. >Grows an extra pair of ant legs in robot mode because they couldn't be bothered to have it transform correctly >the actual ant legs it does have are forced to be in splayed out position instead of against the body >butt thruster is missing a panel. it looks like it could spin but without all the panels that's a pointless feature >gun is in the shape of the butt thruster engine instead of his actual gun design >gun doesn't look like it can mount in the robot butt, so literally what's the point >the missing panel to to accommodate hiding the legs in beast mode, but they could somehow fit the legs in that big ant ass all the way anyway >ant mode has horrendous kibble and looks chubby >robot mode chest is droopy
The original Inferno toy wasn't devoid of problems but it's a much better design. All they had to do was take that and make minor improvements and instead they made an entirely new shitty toy.
>the missing panel is to accommodate hiding the legs in beast mode, but they somehow couldn't fit the legs in that big ant ass all the way anyway

Oh, it does. I own the toy: it's dynamic and intimidating.
The visibility of the hands and feet -
what do you mean the feet are plainly visible? They very much are not - is not relevant; his ant mode was not a disguise, as Beast Warriors do not change size. Hiding his hands was not going to make a seven-foot ant less obtrusive.

the hands are fine because they look like cool spikes. The feet have no excuse but I simply don't give a shit, no beast mode is perfect.
Better pics of the original (has rear ant legs, thruster open). It can actually be positioned standing upright like an ant, it's just not in this pic.
The original only had a few problems:
- Needs more paint
- wrist rotation to avoid curling arm syndrome
- not made of fragile transluscent plastic
- an extra hinge on the middle ant leg balljoint so they can position on his back.
And I wouldn't mind some cost-reduction measures:
- ditch the separating guns and missile launching, make the rear ant legs permanently attached
- ditch the whole push-button geared thruster spinning gimmick, just let it spin freely
- obvious modern size reduction
>All they had to do was take that and make minor improvements and instead they made an entirely new shitty toy.
Pretty much everything in the last five years Hasbro has done is like that.
Of course, it's a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't. Take an old design and modernize it (like Earthrise Starscream), it comes out poorly. Redesign a classic design with new engineering (like Legacy Laser Prime), it comes out poorly.
Yeah. I was more of a fan during 1997-2012 when Hasbro was focused on making new characters and designs. I've felt that the initial oil crisis back in 2012, plus with the Hub and Aligned stuff sort of imploding, and every other movie venture Hasbro made not working, put Hasbro into safety mode for about 10 years. It's why they focused more on rehashing G1 and made their cartoons into a secondary line instead of main lines. Except with nostalgia 80s being in demand, it worked. So Transformeds became stagnant. It does feel like now there is an attempt to move out of that safety zone, but something is still not working yet for them.
Would've been good if not for a couple fatal flaws:

First of all, just look at it.
Second of all: >While he features a left hand underneath the tail weapon in robot mode, the tail weapon cannot be detached from his forearm. >Most of the beast mode shell is cast in a rubbery PVC plastic material, likely to enhance the texture of the dinosaur mode as well as assist the part-clashing transformation. The beast mode itself is well articulated, especially with thigh pieces on a slider to ensure vertical hip movement, as well as spring-loaded pieces around his neck to prevent the sculpt from breaking up too much while posing. The downside to the softer plastic is that it's a great deal more succeptable to being warped out of shape if left deformed for prolongued periods. The sides of his tail that fold up for robot mode are the most common example of warping due to being forced out of shape while folded up.

You can simply not buy a Megatron until you find one that satisfies both your preferences and your budget.
For example, the MP Primal is out of my price range and I don't like the Kingdom Primal. I do like the original Primal, but the reissue was also very expensive. I just decided that I wouldn't be getting a Primal. Then I found the reissue for half off and bought it.

What are your thoughts on the Telemocha reissues? All of them go for a near 1:1 match of the TV show colors
>Pretty much everything in the last five years Hasbro has done is like that
I don't think that's true at all. They've made a lot of great stuff over the last few years.
No, cuz the missiles get lost too easily. Whoops, accidentally pressed the hair trigger button that sets it off? And your head was turned, so you didn't see where it landed? Oh well, its gone for good.

>Honestly if it wasn't so horny I feel like it would've gotten more of an audience
If they'd done something closer to the G1 episodes that pair one of the smaller Autobots up with a human girl, (or Seaspray with that mermaid), or what the Bumblebee movie would later do, I think they could have had something that worked. Literally all they had to do was not make the girls look underage, and not be perverts. But they just couldn't do that.
I think "not be perverts" broadly covers most of what you're talking about. Obviously it should have been pretty wholesome and comfy.

Transformers Best of Grimlock
(W) Various (A) Various (CA) James Biggie
Bow down to him, Grimlock king! Leader of the Dinobots (and sometimes the Dynobots), the titanic T. rex is here to save the day! Grimlock’ll stomp and chomp all the baddies who’ve never stood a chance in this exciting collection! Best of Grimlock collects Transformers ’84: Secrets & Lies #4, “Victory!” from Transformers Annual 1986, “Devices and Desires!” from Transformers: Generation 2 #4, “Grimlock the Rebel” from Transformers: King Grimlock #1, “Kill All ‘Cons” from Transformers: Lost Light #15, and more!
Slicer has been tasked with the war’s most important task: infiltrate Goldbug’s camp around Metroplex to sabotage his plans and gather information for Ultra Magnus. The bot that controls the Titan wins the war, but Slicer has bigger problems. And Soundwave gives a voice to all of them.
>I'd rather have new characters than mostly repeats.
Anon we are getting new characters and Alita One seems to be a major character in this show so thats a + and pretty fresh when using old characters.
I feel nothing. The last Optimus Primes feel like they were mostly there to be Optimus Prime and a backboard for more interesting characters to bounce off of.
I can't wait to finish 84 and move on to Beast Wars. Looks like Kino.

Burger king.
Dinobot, himself.
He'd just eat everybody at the food court.
Grimlock needs an upgraded design. His Trex isn't anatomically correct.
He needs some feathers too.
T-rex didn't have feathers you frick. Only a couple breeds of raptors did.

I hope Giggatron gets a new toy by Hasbro.
RID Megatron
Cybertron Optimus Prime
Those are objectively the best versions of each character.
>RID Megatron
Gigatron deserves better than being called another Megatron.
Agreed but sadly wont be the case as most people remember Giggatron being Megatron.
This, even as a kid I called them fire convoy and gigatron because I had the internet and found that info.
Gigatron is a cool design but a shitty ass character.
Idk about all that, but these three were based
Fire truck Optimus was very cool too.
the fact he can further combine with Ultra Magnus was pretty epic
I remember my parents buying an Optimus Prime/Ultra Magnus combo. I transformed UM once and never again because he was too confusing.
Devil God Fire Convoy is awesome.
>Coomer Prime
I remember I wanted these toys so bad but my dad said it was too expensive at the time.
If only he knew how moronic secondary nerd markets and japanese reissue prices would become...
I do like the idea of them being brothers, shame it doesn't get used more elsewhere.
Second best fire truck Optimus behind Animated.
You don't know the half of it.
So what's IDW's "The Last Autobot" about anyway?
Last bot Standing? Issue 3 should be out today...
Start with Marvel UK! It's slow/long but gonna be rewarding! The best of IDW often takes inspiration from or nods to it anyway!
About the end of the Transformers species
It's depressing
>A post-apocalyptic space western set millennia after the end of the Great War and the near-extinction of the Cybertronian race, Last Bot Standing focuses on an aged Rodimus hiding out on the primitive world of Donnokt. But when a group of remnant Cybertronians turn their sights upon Donnokt, the last Autobot must step up to save the universe one final time.
And it's "Last Bot Standing".
I wonder if we are ever going to get another show with the beast cast as the main characters
Doubtful.
After what Rooster Teeth did to them, hopefully we never will. I consider Monty's death a retroactive apology for that.
What did they do?
I don't want to be responsible for bringing it to your attention, but let's call it terrible voice actors they pulled off the street to avoid having to pay real ones, and worse writing. Beast Megatron sounds more like Scorponok than the glorious ham we know.
Yeah, he just feel in line to serve megatron. I mean I get that in the end you needed him too, but a battle or even just the OG megatron threating to dismatle him after a coop fails would have been better then a ass kisser he became.
Hold your monkeys. Wait for Rise of the beasts, if that doesn't get them the right attention, then they're done.
That is a pretty cool gimmick for a toy.
I was looking to get into the transformer comics. Are they any good? What are some of anons favorites?
Marvel G1 is good. Marvel G2 is a wild kinetic mess but it's fun.
Dreamwave War Within 1 and 2.
Dreamwave Armada, especially the Worlds Collide arc. Energon is decent too but cut off due to Pat Lee fricking over Dreamwave.
IDW Beast Wars.
IDW Last Stand of the Wreckers.
People sucked off IDW More than Meets the Eye/Lost Light for years, but I didn't care for it.
IDW TRANSFORMERS VS G.I. JOE
SHIT GETS

Why are Shockwave and Starscream so big?
Dramatic effect
wtf am I reading?
YOOOOOOOOOOOO
JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOE
The Gobots miniseries by the same guy is equally... unique
And the ending is special (ACTUAL SPOILERS)
This ending had me with a huge smile on my face. So delightfully absurd.
I have to read that, thank you very much.
>Scourge is going to be in Rise of the beasts
>as a black truck
>but he looks like trash
Goddamn
Hopefully he looks cool in robot mode
So are they reverting to the "two plots in one movie" thing? Has stuff like Optimus Primal as well.
Will we ever see them again in future media?
Hopefully not the flood of tertiary fujos was horrible.
Botbots
Transformers Prime is my favorite animated series
THat is really cool.
>No more Old Man Rodimus.
Sad
WHERE
I dont read the comics what is Moon doing there? I love that stupid anime rabbit because it's so 90s anime. I even have his toy.
Which means is was originally going to be Waddlepop that gets killed by being impaled through his eye and then act as an anchor for the pipe to be used to kill another 'bot.
he'll get better

What this set includes:
Transformers Audio Dramas - With visual presentations using various source material - Presented with Japanese Audio with English Subtitles
- 41 episodes
- 4 Messages from the voice actresses,
- 2 TF Information Station discussions with Lyrian / Yui Kano / Satomi Akesaka

Kiss Players is kinda boring all things considered. Once you get over the initial shock factor it doesn't have alot going for it. I've read fanfiction that has scarred me more than kiss players.
it is pretty notable for being the first thing to establish the super large JG1 continuity that's still currently going on it also made it canon that Hot Rod fricked the lesbian out of a Chinese chick which is funny
>spoiler
Is most likely than you’d think.
Shaoshao best girl
Yeah but Atari is better.
>Once you get over the initial shock factor it doesn't have alot going for it.
Didn't the artist even say that he made the girls young so that people would be shocked? I guess even he knew the story was shit.
Well the girls aren't young, they just look young. I wouldn't really call the story shit, but it's a bit standard compared to other Japanese stuff.
yeah, he did try to add an actual young girl to it but Takara told him to quite it because she would've been too young to drive
Ew
Pass
awesome
>If you're unsure whether you want to dive into this series, we highly recommend Chris McFeely's Basics on Kiss Players which will explain things in detail.
As far as I'm concerned coomer weirdos need to stay the hell away from my franchise, I don't want to be associated with people who are only into TF because of weird fetishes.
>replying to bait
too bad, Age of Extinction is literally a feature length adaptation of Kiss Players.
Of course, most objectionable bits got removed but the skeleton is there.
When is Transmetal Megatron getting a good third-party figure like his successor's Metal Dragon?
The time is now anon
Holy frick!
From where should I purchase this, if you're in the know? I'm hesitant about Chinese eBay sellers.
Show.z is pretty reliable.
https://showzstore.com/transart-bwm-06-tyrannosaurus-transmetal-megatron_p3529.html
This show.Z is usually where you can get this stuff at a cheaper price
Very much appreciated. My yearly allotted indefensible purchase is at hand.
tfw no
Why?
What a nice butt.
>Energon sucks—
Having Misha sure lesssened the blow and I don’t hate it like others do.
Arcee was cool too.
Energon is better than the Machima series and the Netflix series. It's stupid, Kicker and Ironhide are the worst, but it is decent background noise and Transformers actually transform. Plus Misha. It is still a crap show, though.
I hope we get a Ultra Magnus and Galvatron rivalry in a future show or comic.
Would be nice
How did you feel about the Beast Wars comics?
Gathering/Ascending felt like it should have been much longer since it pretty much tried to cram everyone from several years into a story. The recent one is generally good and fleshes out the personality of a few characters better than the original show did (esp. Scorponok), but also feels like it got rushed near the end. Overall might be worse, but enjoyable. Have not read 3H or FunPub ones.
I read the first issue of the new run and liked it, decided to let a backlog build before I resumed, and then found it was swiftly cancelled as expected. Put a damper on my interest. I should get back to it.
I don't like how they're drawing BW Scorponok so little, he's a big guy.
Its weird because he has a huge toy but in show Scorponok was one of the smaller PReds.
And
>Galavar
His discarded old name will always be Gnashteeth to me.
Megatron's deadname isn't important.
The fact the Elita has time stop powers and never used them after G1 has always been odd to me.
It kills her to use it. Plus that is really only true for the show one, and she isn't reoccuring in that form.
What was Alpha Trion thinking?
That she is over the 4 million year warranty, but he has a fatherly attachment to her
That's because Elita-1 was rarely ever used period.
If you remove the Matrix of Leadership from Optimus, you just have Huffer. So Elita-1 isn't useful without reworking her role.
That's stupid. Megatron is allowed to have commanders like Starscream, so should Optimus.
Jazz/Prowl/Ironhide/Wheeljack.
>And then kills her.
Off screen, between Earthrise and Kingdom. The Netflix series was so bad.
Yo Cinemaphile, I'm not very knowledgeable on transformers, so can I get your opinions on a few things?
In the transformers universe, who is the biggest:
>jobber
>threat
>badass
>honorable
>joker
>disappointment
If you want to provide reasons/examples as well, I would really appreciate it.
Megatron
All spaces
Noted
>In the transformers universe
That's the problem, there is no one TF universe. It's a multiverse. A character can be a jobber in one series and a badass in another.
>jobber
Ultra Magnus
>threat
Unicron
>badass
Grimlock
>honorable
Dinobot
>joker
Hot Rod
>disappointment
Starscream
>joker
Hot Rod
>disappointment
Starscream
These could be flip flopped and it would still be totally accurate.
the biggest jobber in Transformers is the entire Seacon team, in ever universe they're in they job even when combined
>Piranacon is supposed to be one of the strongest combiners
>His most notable appearance is getting one-shot by Galvatron
Snaptrap is supposed to be a legendary Decepticon war hero but we never ever get to see him treated like that.
Is IDW2 Beast Wars worth it?
I gave up because of the hideous art
There is no IDW2 Beast Wars. IDW2 is the name for IDW's second main G1 run.
IDW has had two BW runs: the 2006 one and the 2021 one.
The 2021 has some neat ideas but it's a little lackluster, especially with the early ending.
Post your favorite Transformers theme.
I always felt sorry for Blitzwing in that OP, the powerful triple changer, just stomped and carried away.
"TRANSFORMERS: FRICKED-UP FACES"
Optimus has that chad chin
What's up with the gauntlets?
We don't know, show's not out yet.
Damn, was hoping there would be a leak for the premise or something. Would be cool if the kids could send power ups to transformers like digimon.I'd buy a transformers digipet/vital bracelet.
Have you heard of mini-cons? That is what you're looking for. It was implemented in a few shows too, and it was awful. But maybe you'll like it?
I am familiar, yes. And frick you I enjoyed them whenever they were involved.
Look up Kiss Players
Master Gauntlets. They let Optimus Prime's stepchildren evolve into Transformers.
>stepchildren
Going the Star Saber route, huh?
>Going the Star Saber route, huh?
Stepchildren implies that he marries the human mom.
Use spoilers, you massive jackass. Frick you.
Eat shit. From now on, I'll spoil things in every TF thread just to spite you.
>Eat shit. From now on, I'll spoil things in every TF thread just to spite you.
Why? You would literally do something so shitty just to be an butthole?
He looks cool
>David Kaye is back as BW Megatron
Too based to be true.
>me when I spread misinformation over the internet
that looks sick.
These give me machine war vibes and I like it.
Truly an underappreciated era.
I dont understand
What is this?
It's about time
Bootleg converting robot toys
Ah. What's so special about it though?
It vaguely resembles something, but not enough to get in legal issues.
Why are you double spacing everything like that? You know it makes you look like a moron, right? I'm not even complaining about """""reddit spacing"""", this is something way worse.
Are you joking? That Inferno looks terrible.
>Grows an extra pair of ant legs in robot mode because they couldn't be bothered to have it transform correctly
>the actual ant legs it does have are forced to be in splayed out position instead of against the body
>butt thruster is missing a panel. it looks like it could spin but without all the panels that's a pointless feature
>gun is in the shape of the butt thruster engine instead of his actual gun design
>gun doesn't look like it can mount in the robot butt, so literally what's the point
>the missing panel to to accommodate hiding the legs in beast mode, but they could somehow fit the legs in that big ant ass all the way anyway
>ant mode has horrendous kibble and looks chubby
>robot mode chest is droopy
The original Inferno toy wasn't devoid of problems but it's a much better design. All they had to do was take that and make minor improvements and instead they made an entirely new shitty toy.
>the missing panel is to accommodate hiding the legs in beast mode, but they somehow couldn't fit the legs in that big ant ass all the way anyway
fixed
Some of us can't afford to spend hundred on ebay for an old or third party one, thank you.
>Why are you double spacing everything like that?
I like how clear it looks.
>You know it makes you look like a moron, right?
You're not really gone win me over that way, buddy.
>That Inferno looks terrible.
Now that I agree with. Yikes.
So glad I bought the original way back when
Comp
Smaller eye boobs, but the chest sticks out further.
The new one looks better, i don't know what you guys are talking about.
The bot mode looks pretty good, but the insect mode looks more like a ladybug than an ant
Anon, you are not going to convince me the ant mode with the plainly visible hands and feet looks any better.
But the old one is made of clear plastic so.....
What does that have to do with either of you guy's points?
Clear plastic is fricking doo doo and I want a toy that wont break on me.
While true, again, what does that have to do with either of you guy's points? Because as it stands, it has nothing to do with it.
The new toy is more show accurate and is not made of clear plastic, so yeah I think the toy with a eh Ant mode is the better one.
Did you just forget what the discussion was about? Visible hands and feet.
Who fricking cares about that, beast modes are always known to be kibble hell a lot of times, even the Master pieces cant avoid this, both Infernos have their faults and their ups.
idiot I'm FOR the original's hands and feet
the hands are fine because they look like cool spikes.
There, bam, easy GOOD Legacy Inferno.
Original beast mode is better, new robot mode is better. Net equilibrium.
Maybe they should stop doing old characters if they can only screw them up.
Yeah, let them do some ones that never got a figure yet.
The full DJD.
Turmoil. Blackwall. Hell, Termagax.
I dunno, I think SOME of the new ones look good. Definitely not all though
Good:
Tarantulas
Blackarachnia
Dinobot
Airazor
Waspinator
Rattrap
Bad:
Rhinox
Inferno
Scorponok holy shit
Terrorsaur
Cheetor
Tigatron
Megatron
Would've been good if not for a couple fatal flaws:
Primal
Neat idea that you're lucky to get:
Transmutate
What's the problems with Terrorsaur?
>fake kibble
>extremely chucky beast mode
>literally just Airazor
chunky*
>Bad
>Megatron
Shit, why?
First of all, just look at it.
Second of all:
>While he features a left hand underneath the tail weapon in robot mode, the tail weapon cannot be detached from his forearm.
That seems like how Megatron is intended to look.
>fricked up dino head shape
>fricked up tail arm
>tan everywhere
>saggy back kibble
>actually, all the back kibble is the wrong shape and fricks with the silhouette
>no glorious heels
>weird panely dino mode
>no color matching the hinges making them look terrible
What are we supposed to do, buy the 400+-dollar MP?
Or spend the same amount on ebay for an old one?
You can simply not buy a Megatron until you find one that satisfies both your preferences and your budget.
For example, the MP Primal is out of my price range and I don't like the Kingdom Primal. I do like the original Primal, but the reissue was also very expensive. I just decided that I wouldn't be getting a Primal. Then I found the reissue for half off and bought it.
(not my pic)
Speaking of the "reissues":
>Tigatron is in his show-accurate, Takara colors
>Scorponok is literally the only BW Scorponok to finally be in the show colors
>they remade the Rattrap toy FROM SCRATCH because the steel molds for the original are infamously unusable
>Cheetor finally has the right combination of colors for his cat eyes and robot eyes
>Primal's robot head is the right color
What are your thoughts on the Telemocha reissues? All of them go for a near 1:1 match of the TV show colors
>Pretty much everything in the last five years Hasbro has done is like that
I don't think that's true at all. They've made a lot of great stuff over the last few years.
>Transtech Starscream at home
Just built Lego Optimus Prime and I feel like a kid again. Fricking awesome I hope they do Megatron
They should do Soundwave next.
Oh my god I'd fricking kill for a Lego Shockwave like they did Optimus Prime
Name literally ONE Transformer
Cy-Kill
Gundam Wing
Minicon discussion got me thinking, does anyone miss action gimmicks and firing weapons and such? More of a /toy/ question but w/e
No, cuz the missiles get lost too easily. Whoops, accidentally pressed the hair trigger button that sets it off? And your head was turned, so you didn't see where it landed? Oh well, its gone for good.
Yeah. Growing up sucks.
Where even was the Apex Armor during Predacons Rising?
I imagine that it was probably with Miko or something but it could've been really useful during the fight with the massive Terror-Pred horde
YOOOOO
Wrong guy, anon
Honestly if it wasn't so horny I feel like it would've gotten more of an audience
You still have all the references to things that minor things and horror aspects that need to be dropped to make it viable.
I think "not be perverts" broadly covers most of what you're talking about. Obviously it should have been pretty wholesome and comfy.
You shouldn't have characters referencing toy-depictions, plots involving time travel to connect loose continuity, going to different universes, or anything involving Unicron or Primus.
I disagree.
Kiss Players also being a dive into complex Transformers continuity issues and deepest lore is almost as weird as how perverted they made it.
>Wrong guy, anon
Whats wrong with Rodimus Primal?
>Inferno
>Transmetal II Megatron
> Orion Pax
Fuuuuck, those are so bad ass figures. But where is my Transmetal Megatron??
Man they really hate statues.
The Rock Lords will have their revenge!

So other than Twitch and Thrash everyone are reruns?
and people were getting all pissy over nothing.
I'd rather have new characters than mostly repeats.
Also WHY ARE THAT ONE KID'S EYES SO HUGE
look the Japanese give kids chipmunk teeth to look cute, I'd rather take big eyes instead.
>look the Japanese give kids chipmunk teeth to look cute
m8 wtf are you talking about i've never seen that
this fricking abomination
anon that's not chipmunk teeth you stupid frick
>I'd rather have new characters than mostly repeats.
Anon we are getting new characters and Alita One seems to be a major character in this show so thats a + and pretty fresh when using old characters.
Elita-1 was just in the Netflix show as a major character.
yeah, that's the premise of the show, Twitch and Thrash are brand new Transformers born on Earth being raised on earth by Humans and Autobots.
A human? In MY Transformers toyline?
"human" is pushing it.
Not the first time by a long stretch.
All said, he looks well made.
Lacking in articulation though.
he's got the chin of a man
This guy could be really great or really terrible.
New clip, people: https://youtu.be/96iDyzEYMEg
why is here head so big
To look younger.
I already hate the kids.
>the protohumans from Beast Wars are back
Unusual choice, but whatever.
What annoying children. They probably should have chosen a clip with more, you know, Transformers.
Well it's failing spectacularly. It make her look like she's got an adult head slapped onto a kid body.
Hot.
That Alan Tudyk Optimus sounds more like Peter Cullen than Peter himself has in years,
Im glad bombshell is back I always love that little bug
I prefer the kuwagata version
The what?
So Robby is 13, and yet they have a woman voicing him? He doesn't sound like a 13 year old male at all. Really weird casting.
He's a nerd so he doesn't get a manly voice.
Still, he should sound male regardless of "manly" or not.
It's better this way. They'd probably have to recast after a season if it was a real boy.
Why not have the character grow up after a year?
character design costs money, anon.
>just watched a bunch of spider bots blow up a convoy
>I know lets do family drama a second later
No, just no.
What do we think of Alan Tudyk as Optimus?
I feel nothing. The last Optimus Primes feel like they were mostly there to be Optimus Prime and a backboard for more interesting characters to bounce off of.
I'll take anybody over that zoomer with the middling Cullen impression.

I'm loving these toys.
The Megatron and the orange bot near the bottome look alright. But once again the fembot just has a shit ton of kibble on her back.
Also another seeker that's vehicle mode just has the robot body dangling underneath. Joy.
It's LITERALLY just the Cyberverse mold again.
And I fricking hate that lazy ass shit. We've a bounty of seeker characters but most of their toys are all the laziest possible transforming scheme.
