Coincidentally it also stars Flora. Sonia is set up for an episode where she learns that she can't take people for granted if she's not willing to return the care given, and the perfect way to do that is have her lose the one person who she always exploited: her mom.

They wanted a new sonic cartoon because the dreamcast was coming out. Dic was making zillions off an Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon so they just made a Sonic cartoon like that. Ben Hurts from SATAM worked on it which is why it was so similar. Apparently he was horrified about how terrible the production was before he jumped in

Am I the only one who wishes this show had an ending? The closest thing we got to an ending was a small snippet of Sonic's multiverse from Archie explaining that Sonic Underground eventually did beat Robotnik. But of course that's it because Sonic Underground is not Archie, it was a small bit during a multiverse story arc where they showcased the Sonic Underground universe.
Of all the Sonic media around, examples like Sonic Underground do deserve actual closure.

Someone explain the tamers timeline to me, I don't get how chuck and aleena wound up on mobius if they were living in lazytown.
They weren't living there. They just moved out of their dads place and needed a cheap place to stay which lead them to a hotel room in lazy town.
a) there is no timeline it's all a haze of half canon that is verified on an episode to episode basis.
b) they moved to Earth after the events of SU - if they were at lazy town before the events it's just an example of A in action.
Canon in SU12345 is a complex and esoteric thing. It's like comics canon post retcon event. Everything is in a flux but all the important character events are presumed to have somehow happened with in the retrconed premise of the current universe.
