a Beetlejuice sequel could have been good if it were made in the 90s. I have no hopes for this movie now that Tim Burton's most recent films are Dark Shadows, Alice in Wonderland, and Big Eyes.

I'll give him the benefit a doubt because most everything he's made in recent years has been some kind of adaptation. His best stuff was when he was doing more original things.

Garfield holds a weird amount of cross-generational appeal for ironic and unironic reasons, of those 4 it's almost certainly the one that will make the most money
Hugh Jackman Wolverine will probably be enough to make normies Deadpool 3 but it's hard to tell if anybody still cares about keeping up with Marvelslop so it could go either way. Beetlejuice 2 is probably dead in the water since nobody cares about the property and Jenna Ortega hasn't been Wednesday for years now, and it seems unlikely that a sequel to a mediocre Disney movie will do much better. I can't believe Inside Out got a sequel before Zootopia did, what are they smoking

            Making money.
Smith hasn't been in a blockbuster for a good number of years and still has terrible heat from last year's Oscar embarrassment and revelations that he's a taker.
Venom is debatable, the movies have never delivered a good rendition of the character, people are broke and can't afford to waste money going to see mediocre films.

Bad Boys 3 came out in 2020 so pre-covid and pre-slap but it had a sensible budget and it ended up making 4 times it's money back.
There aren't many other action films coming out this summer so I think the most likely outcome for B4d Boys is that it makes a profit but not enough to justify a sequel
Venom you're completely wrong on, it's got a $110 million dollar budget rather than the bloated $200+ million most superhero films have and Venom 2 managed to turn a good profit even though it released during covid
Sony are going to push it because it's the only superhero franchise they own that makes money. DC is dead and the only Marvel film coming out this summer is Deadpool 3 so it's not like superhero fans have anything else to watch

        >deadpool
A Hail Mary bringing back two former golden geese like Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds but superhero stuff has taken a beating in the public conscience and it could either hit or smack of desperation. It definitely isn't a movie made out of confidence, that's for sure.
        >bad boys
The original was like..an 8/10 in 1997 or whenever it came out. Will smith, if he's in it, is radioactive. And old.
        >venom
Tom hardy hasn't been relevant in nearly a decade at this point and he's already started resorting to attaching himself to stuff you'd normally see aging has-beens in. Also venom in Sony, and was a 6-7/10. They're pushing it.

How do these producers not think this shit through? They must be extremely out of touch. Frick, just hire me or some anon and we'll give you a more honest view on what'll bomb and what won't than anybody in their inner circle at this point.

Turn your brain off dumb action films with jokes.
They can take a nap without losing their understanding of the film. And the humour brings a smile to their faces. Same reason that any other demographic likes them. Only difference is that boomers are less critical about judging things for being stupid because it's all stupid to them. They're more critical on including social issues though. So inoffensive capeshit is grand for them

Things like Garfield, Scooby Doo, and Smurfs are zombie IPs. There’s no organic demand or fanbase, yet they keep getting products made.
Characters like Spider-Man and Mario are also old, but tons of children and adults genuinely enjoy them. These movies are only made so adults can put something familiar on to shut their kids up. Pediatrician waiting room and substitute teacher fodder.

The PS5 is over. It is already in the "latter half of its life cycle" and no new exclusives are planned.
No new blockbuster games are coming out in general. Just the same Ubisoft slop, ports from the PS4, and horrible 'live service' games no one wants to play

    >Biden is doing his best and prices are going down but slowly, any kind of radical action would kill the economy like it's doing in Argentina.

No he fricking isn't. The Feds have pointed out that the reason why their policy of keeping rates high haven't had their intended effects is because Biden's administration is actively engaging in inflationary policies. And that's because Biden wants to prevent a recession before election season.

      >their policy of keeping rates high
Rates are still ridiculously low in historical terms, the government doesn't want to raise them further because they want to keep printing money like fricking lunatics but rates are only low compared to under the Obama administration when they printed a shitton of money to bail out the financial industry at Americans expense.
Since they realised that the public will tolerate being impoverished to bail out bankers bad decisions they have zero respect for them.

To have any faith in any Garfield related content is hilarious.
It's an IP so fossilised that makes the Simpsons look fresh.
And an Inside Out sequel that is a retcon of the first movies' premise screams desperation and un-originality.

Deadpool seems like a decent film, Deadpool movies and him playing around with Wolverine sounds fun.
Since Deadpool are generally comedies, that might make it different enough for those with superhero fatigue to still watch it.
Plenty of children will watch Garfield, so will adults with irony poisoning.
Inside Out won awards when it came out ages ago, but I don't think people will really care now.
I think only Disney adults will see that movie.

I don't think anyone's going to watch a Beetlejuice sequel in the year of our lord current year+11

I'm a person who isn't interested in capeshit, but also the Deadpool brand of comedy makes me EXTRA uninterested in Deadpool vs. Wolverine.
I can't imagine it pulling any crowds who don't care about superhero movies.

people don't even have capeshit fatigue. they have wokeshit fatigue. the last spiderman movie, aka three white boys save the multiverse, broke records just a couple years ago. dead pool and wolverine, aka two white guys save the day, will be successful as well.

people love franchises and always have. the most successful and culturally relevant movies that have ever existed have all been franchises or trilogies. sequels are not why movies suck.
