I don't agree, but I can kind of "see it," to the extent that Black Knight is the weird left over of a once failed pushed of said character. Got put into the Avengers and given focus and so on. Now he's just a real never was for most people, to the extent his last (?) run was yet another "lol of MC is such an unpopular loser, just like that Hawkeye run that got so much press!"
I think Black Knight suffer from a case of having a boring gimmick (magic cursed sword).
They tried to make it cool by describing it as "Anti-Excalibur", but it just doesn't work since nobody care for King Arthur stuff in the Marvel Universe besides Merlin or Morgan Le Fay.

So I haven't been paying too much attention to the whole grander Ultimate thing happening right now. What exactly is the short version deal?
Maker was playing with some dimension he find for 60 years, tweaking whatever he wants like disbanding USA, cucking superpowered people of their powers and making a shadow council that rules the world.
Howard Stark with defeated Reed Richards of that universe made a time machine and locked the Maker and Kang inside Maker's City for two years (something like 20 thousand years inside it).
Tony Stark and Reed are using the time machine to give back the heroes their powers so they would have an army to fight Maker after countdown ends.
For now only Spider-Man was a success in getting the powers back. Most of the heroes refused or died
This sounds needlessly complex when they could have just said
