'Ultraman X Avengers' Brings Together the Greatest Hero of Japan & Earth's Mightiest Heroes

>Since Marvel Comics and Tsuburaya Productions begin working together in 2019, fans have eagerly anticipated the day Ultraman would cross over with Marvel super heroes. The wait is over! This August, see the mightiest heroes of the Marvel Universe step into Ultraman’s world for the first time in ULTRAMAN X AVENGERS!

>The four-issue limited series will see the return of the hit creative team behind Ultraman’s previous Marvel comic series: writers Kyle Higgins and Mat Groom and artist Francesco Manna. The four-issue epic will feature a wide array of appearances including mainstay Avengers, Spider-Man, and more.

>Spider-Man has disappeared from New York, an intergalactic invader has arrived on Ultraman’s doorstep, and the Kaiju of Earth are acting even more mysteriously than usual. This can only mean one thing: It’s time for Ultraman to meet the Avengers! But what cosmic threat is great enough to require a team-up of Marvel’s mightiest champions and Japan’s greatest hero? Find out as Shin meets Sam, Spacium Ray meets Repulsor Ray, and “THWIP!” meets “SHUWATCH!” in the epic crossover event.

"Of course we're excited to be back with more ULTRAMAN, as ever, but especially for such a meaningful event," Groom and Higgins said. "This is the first time Ultraman will meet the Avengers, despite them having so much in common—both being created in the 1960s, both being arguably the most popular and successful super heroes from their respective countries of origin. Being able to tell the story of this historic meeting: discovering how they interact, the ways in which they're different, what they have to learn from each other—it's a tremendous privilege."

>Check out Dike Ruan’s cover and witness pop culture history in the making when ULTRAMAN X AVENGERS arrives in August!

There's a sizable black weeb community, it's not unimaginable that someone likes the idea of Miles Morales as a toku hero.

Projecting more interesting stories onto Miles has been what Miles fans have done since his inception, Lord & Miller included.

No, you sad shit. You're getting drunk on your own and coming to Cinemaphile to b***h about fictional Black folk. You don't deserve the niceness of strangers, grow up. You're not even nice to yourself.

Give him his own name and maybe I’d agree, because at the end of the day he’s just a banal propaganda piece designed to bastardize or established iconography for people who have no desire to see their own iconography created

Doubt that, even if Groom and Higgins were too busy they'd probably just give the titles to someone else and/or work for hire stuff would take precedent over their creator-owned titles
It was probably negotiations between Marvel and Tsuburaya on how this should be handled

      >F4
This would be my pick, if I were to do something like this. "Weird B-movie scifi stuff from space" is their whole wheelhouse, and that's basically Ultraman's vibe.

Counterpoint: Tsuburaya's broadening of the IP to an international audience that is eager to consume Japanese content will bring more global fans into the Tokusatsu genre as a whole by severely lowering the barrier to entry with official simulsubs. Toei should follow in their steps.

I very emphatically do *not* want Ultraman and toku more broadly to become sanitized globally appealing slop. I want to keep as many barriers up as possible.
