Always preferred The Wolf Man and Frankenstein's Monster myself. The latter is especially surprising seeing as I remember being scared of it back when I was three.
Hes my favorite as well. He was the only true villain of the bunch. The others could justify their evil deeds either through necessity or primal instincts but Vizzy was just a complete dickhead and psychopath.
My favorite out of the first movies is the Invisible Man, followed closely by the Wolfman. Out of all the sequel movies though, Bride of Frankenstein is by far the best.
Gill-Man. Three good movies, definitive ending not ruined by any additional nonsense (like the Frankenstein series). Character-wise he's a more sympathetic King Kong.
I saw The Mummy recently, Boris Karloff is great but the movie as a whole is pretty slow and boring. The Brendan Fraser Remake is way more entertaining.
Correct, but there is this one really good shot in it. It's where Karis is showing the woman his history, and the camera pans over his shoulder into the pool of magic water to show the flashback. was pretty cool.
Common misconception is that the title of the film refers to the female monster at the end. It actually refers to the character Elizabeth, the woman who marries Dr. Frankenstein (making her the Bride of Frankenstein) at the beginning of the film, and is later kidnapped.
The best parts of those movies are Larry in human form being miserable about his cursed existence rather than him running around transformed. Lon Chaney Jr was so good in that role.
>spends 2/3 of the movie simping for some woman with a Chad bf >spends 1/3 of the movie running around covered in hair
>The best parts of those movies are Larry in human form being miserable about his cursed existence >spends 1/3 of the movie running around covered in hair
Yeah like I said, literally me.
Probably something along the lines of >Invasion of the body snatchers >the thing from another world >the last man on earth >forbidden planet >the day the earth stood still
I've been watching through a lot of them over this Halloween season. Frankenstein is the best overall series. Dracula has the best overall movie. Wolfman is the best overall character.
Out of the old? Either Dracula or the creature from the black lagoon
I've still never seen Frankenstein but am planning on watching it after reading the book (I'm hoping the movie will prove better).
Invisible man is good. Best remake of it is the hollow man I think as you get to see bacon go insane as a result of his new ability, just like the guy in the book.
the creature
we are due for a black lagoon remake
I hope in a remake they don't make the creature a nagger[spoiler]
I've been waiting to watch the 3D version of Black Lagoon.
Also does anyone remember a Halloween Advent calendar from the 90s with the Universal Monsters? I've been trying to find it for years.

the wolf man has a surprisingly dark ending when you think about it. it truly is a horror movie.

Hammers version with Cushing and Lee is better. If you haven't seen it I recommend it, but yeah the Frasier one is the best one
For me, it’s Abbott and Costello meeting all the monsters in their various movies.
The best film in that cycle was Abbott and Costello Eat the Son of the House of Wolfman's Ass.
Bride of Frankenstein. Lives for about two minutes but does nothing but scream and beg for death. Love her.

No thanks.
speaking of, has anyone made a pornoparody of this sequel?
>How's that for a hairbrush, George Henry?
How do you respond without sounding mad?
Not about the best monster but I think the following are the best movies
Invisible Man
or
Mysteries of the Wax Museum
or
The Most Dangerous Game
or
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
The Wolf Man. Literally me.

>the perfect monster trilogy doesn't exis-
Unfortunately the Frankenstein series went down the shitter once he linked up with the Wolfman.
Son was the ending. The rest can be dismissed.
Thanks for the thread. Ive been meaning to watch those old horror films. Is there an equivalent old scifi collection?
Probably something along the lines of
>Invasion of the body snatchers

Don't forget the classic!

Also check out Hammer's version Curse of Frakenstein. I think its much better than Universal's Frankenstein.
Surprisingly decent sequel.
